  1. Thank you Zane! Good first period by the netminder extraordinaire. 3-0 lead after one!
  2. I use a chromebook with a hard-wire connection to my router, and an HDMI cable to the tv. No problems at all (except for last weeks WCHA webcast from BSU).
  3. Would love to see a sweep, but I haven't been impressed with our defense in early season play these last, oh...nine years or so. Friday night v. BSU was indicative of early play last season, etc. That said, Scotty Owens teams liked racehorse hockey and we always played well with that style rather than against a trap and transition team. But...this is not a Scotty Owens coached team. So, like I said...I would love to see a sweep. With the brooms in the hands of the Green jersey players, that is. Win Friday, then look forward to Saturday night. GO SIOUX!
  4. i got a notice that I'd get a refund too. Cut off my access to the site right away, but it wasn't worth anything anyway. Totally frozen up during the period break. WCHA tv better get their act together.
  5. Friday - Luke Johnson Saturday - Mr. Caggiula
  6. Thank you, that is very helpful (and welcome) information.
  7. So from the looks of things the UND Insider package will no longer offer video streaming of the Men's games, but the NCHC feed will carry those instead. But the NCHC page says they only offer conference games, so I am wondering about options for viewing the Manitoba exhibition game, the Bemidji State series, and the Providence series, through a streaming service. Might it be that UND will stream all their home games through NCHC anyway? I'm curious if anyone knows this. Thanks
  8. One for George Pelawa. Before you get all "Never played a game" on me just remember...without playing a single game beyond high school, he changed the game of hockey forever. It was not a 'big guy' sport until George stepped on the ice at the Minnesota HS tourney and drug five bloomington jefferson jaguars up and down with him, scoring seemingly at will. A man amongst boys. And he was a Sioux commit. So...one for George Pelawa.
  9. How about an old school Red Pepper theme? The Grinders. :-)
  10. I'm guessing that "Roughnecks" would be a popular moniker out West.
  11. I'd be in favor of a new rule requiring penalties to be called for high sticks to the face on a consistent basis. Oh, and for holding, interference, tackling, clutching...etc., all to be consistently called. And for the patented "Budish facewash" to be a contact to the head minor. Just saying. If you're going to have rules, call 'em.
  12. Seems fair. There IS a lot of history there.
  13. In regard to the CC job, I could see Gwoz wanting that job just to recruit like a fiend and keep the Gold Pan in C.Springs for a good, long time. That is, if CC is looking for a coach with a proven record and an axe to grind.
  14. Whether or not Rau and Co learned this behavior at UM is unknown, but what is clear is that the UM coaching staff does not discourage diving and (as you point out) it escalated after Rau "sold" his call with time getting short. To his credit, he sold it and they picked up a PP goal to make a game of it. It begs the question "Is this a good (if not preferred) coaching strategy? Consider that if Rocco drops like a sack of spuds after Holl high sticks him to the face it would have quite likely stopped play at the buzzer. Any review would have caught the high stick and counting the goal at that time would have been very controversial. (Whistle should have blown the play dead when Holl touches the puck). But do we want to see the Green and White take up diving as a team sport? As hard as it is to want to turn back the clock and wish Rocco had done that, I still say "No". UND plays nose-to-nose hockey and doesn't dive or jersey pop. And I can live with that. It still surprises me that the NCAA can review that goal, make sure the play is not offsides as they cross the blue line, and NOT over-rule the goal based on the obvious high-stick to the face. This is certainly not protective of players, and hasn't the NCAA now, defacto, just said it's ok to stick people in the facemask? Really interesting non-call there. Thoughts welcome.
  15. Hat's off to the Union Dutchmen, taking down BC and UM in the Frozen Four. Not an easy task. Enjoy that first championship, Union! Maybe see you in Fargo next spring?
  16. Epic Post. And you are spot on. I hope the road from the Airport to the University is lined with fans, clapping for this TEAM when they get back to town. They've earned all of our respect and will, like so many other teams, live on in our memories.
  17. Props to the Gophers, they are a talented team and gave UND their all. One good bounce with a tick left was all it took. Props to you, Sagard, for picking the 2-1 final. I was thinking the low score favored us...
  18. Let's GO SIOUX!!!
  19. Now shades of 2007 with the ENG being the game winner. Shoe is still on the other foot though.
  20. Shades of 2001 with the shoe on the other foot...
  21. Looking to see some Rodwell in Beast Mode again tonight. BRING IT...EVERY SHIFT!
  22. The Dutchmen are a handful, it appears.
  23. C'mon Union...make me proud! (just to get us off the BC schneid...)
  24. Thanks for posting this, though I've watched it recently it is an all-time classic. Made better because I watched that game in a bar full of gopher fans who sat and glared at me when I jumped up from the bar and yelled "YES!!!: HA! Better still was this goal coming as sweet redemption on the heels of Blake Wheeler's hail mary in the Final Five. It's one thing to lose the Broadmoor, but quite another to move on to the Frozen Four and send the gophers home. That was a great goal.
  25. Thanks for posting those....it's been about a year since I've seen them. Great clips.
