  1. I've been watching him and while he hasn't lit up the scoreboard he's a solid player who puts out the effort and doesn't coast on his shift. I think he's still getting used to the speed at this level, but when he's on step he'll start getting some better opportunities and rebounds. Like I also wish for Luke Johnson, I hope he starts scoring with regularity. And as for DylanTrevor Olson...PLAY ON! Love his intensity...Sioux hockey all the way.
  2. I'm sure he will be, as this is his hometown crowd. He'll be wanting to make a statement and I'm sure will play with a lot of energy if he's able to earn ice time. I like Mattson in only for the experience he brings to the PowerPlay unit...other than that he gets caught pinching too much for my tastes. That said, he's a Senior and wants to play, so it's a real luxury for the coaching staff (and us fans). We'll need to bring the jump both nights to take down Brodzinski and Co. Looking forward to a good weekend of hockey. GO SIOUX!!!
  3. Final. Duluth 2, Goofy 1.
  4. This was a good answer to last night's uninspired first period. Hats off to Caggiula for that move, what skills...that just might make sports center. And while I have my concerns about Mattson, he saved a goal that might have turned the game. Good defensive effort tonight, and great offensive pressure. I like what this team showed us. On to St. Could. Time to bring some intensity into the concrete bunker. GO SIOUX!!!
  5. You didn't see Enrico's grin when they ran Zane from behind last night? That's how they roll.
  6. Run 'em through the zamboni doors. 'Nuff said.
  7. ? Just wondering what you don't agree with...the hope for a split tomorrow night? Or that our D-corps held their own in the third? Actually, they made an incredible play with Zane on the bench to give us one last chance... But...offense is what we were really lacking tonight. Tough to beat Miami with two goals. Usually takes six.
  8. Our D crew held their own in the third, but that uninspired first period cost us the game. This team needs to figure out the sixty minute thing. Thinking split tomorrow night. GO SIOUX!!!!
  9. I also like that the leadership on this team went through "the year of injury" and understand what it takes to win under some adversity. Pattyn, Panz, Gaarder, St. Clair...they've all been there. Should be a very competitive weekend of hockey. GO SIOUX!!!
  10. Miami generates a lot of offense, leading the league at 39+ shots/game. We'll need to block a lot of those and give Zane good looks at the rest of them. If we can pressure the play and keep the puck out of our zone, we're set. If Miami can buzz and get setup for shooting that could be trouble. Keep the feet moving, stay out of the box, and keep the passes quick and on tape. I'm not expecting a sweep, but this team has the potential if they come out to win both nights. Hoping for a TCoS on Saturday night. GO SIOUX!!!
  11. Solid third period, good to see them tack on a few goals late. Miami should provide a good challenge.
  12. I'll take a road win in Madison anytime. Need to play with intensity all 60 tomorrow night. Parks seems to have a third period thing going on...surging in the final 20. Love those shorties. Sweep!! GO SIOUX!!!
  13. Both St.Clair and Thompson deserve some ice time. And yeah, I like the game Olson brings. I'm another who doesn't mind an occasional "hitting too hard" penalty. Moreover, I'd like to see our offense get back to 4 and 5 goal games. A guy can get used to that.
  14. Per Brad: St. Clair and Thompson in, Olson and Mattson out. I am a bit surprised to see Olson sit, but Thompson had to have a chance sometime. Hope he rocks it.
  15. I can still hear the ring of that GTG by Duncan. And yeah, that game winner even silenced Mrs. Sideburns in front of us. That was a fun Regional, for sure.
  16. The Kohl center is a tough crowd, and these games won't be easy wins. The team will have to work hard and keep their d-zone buttoned up tight...block a lot of shots and transition fast. As others have said, if they work hard they will be rewarded. Take a night off, and expect a split. In Zane we trust. Go SIOUX!!!
  17. Ugly win, but I'll take it. Much better than an "L" for this game in March PWR. I like Poolman's play, good energy. Would like to see everyone have that for 65 min every game.
  18. Best wishes, Mr. McMillian, with a full and speedy recovery. Take care of business in the meanwhile. Looking forward to seeing you back on the ice soon.
  19. Stay out of the box. Roll 4 lines. Take away time and space. GO SIOUX!!!
  20. These are huge games both for pairwise, but also for team confidence building going forward. We'll need the special teams play we saw in C Springs, and we'd better tighten that D a bit to give up a few less 'cherry' opportunities. Zane did a great job both nights, but we shouldn't be putting him in the position of defending those breakaways. Seniors need to take ownership of their building. They have earned this...it's their season, their time. When they play to their potential we are a very, very tough team to beat.
  21. Fair enough. When you're up by 4 that's one thing. Down by 1 or 2 and that miss is another thing entirely.
  22. My subscription includes all NCHC games, and there have been quality issues with a number of broadcasts. But yes, this is the first one with a ND broadcast.
  23. Pull the goalie? How about pull the video crew? Lots of issues with feeds so far. It's not like they didn't have an idea of the bandwidth demand. Yeesh. They have a long way to go at NCHC.tv
  24. Business suits tonight? Let's get the SWEEP!!!! GO SIOUX!!!
  25. Really missing some effort in the third, at least offensively. Zane was the key tonight, saving bacon in the first and standing tall in the third as well. We'll take the points, let's bring it tomorrow night and sweep this place! GO SIOUX!!!
