I read a piece this summer about the airlines cost reducing measures, the ones that stood out in my mind were replacing seats with a streamlined version to hold many more passengers, reducing bag weight to 40 lbs. on most airlines from 50 lbs., and of course cutting/consolidating flights. With them pushing toward less flights and increased capacity per flight the demand for pilots is probably pretty level right now but, if the article is correct, between the training requirement and the mandatory retirements coming up there should be more opportunities and compensation for experienced pilots ahead. I would rather my pilot is experienced and happy with his pay I guess.

Kristo can't stay snakebit hitting pipes forever, once they start going in it should get Knight cranked up too. I still think that line is going to put up big numbers this year, they just haven't quite got it going yet. Fortunately we have other guys who have been filling the net...and that goalie isn't too bad either.

That's definitely been the pattern the last few years, the team seems to tread water before Christmas and hits its stride after the break, and for the most part that's not terrible because you want your team getting better every week and peaking toward the end, but that said I don't want to get into a situation like last year where every single game the last 5 weeks became a "must win" to get into the top 12 of PWR, that was a lot of pressure on everybody involved. We need to beat teams we should beat, especially at home, there's no reason not to sweep a team like Duluth who's struggling at the Ralph, on any day of the week.

Friday-MacMillan Saturday-Knight

To me it doesn't look like any team is head and shoulders above the rest, NDSU has the best defense but not so much on the other side of the ball, if someone can put them down 2 scores it will be tough for them to come back. Montana State has been up and down, one week they look like they could kill anyone...the next week they squeak by someone they should beat by 20, very inconsistent. And that's been the pattern for most of the top 20 teams, great one week...the next week meh. This looks like the most balanced field coming in to the playoffs for a while, usually you can point at one or two teams that stand out on both sides of the ball, this year we could see a number of teams making a run to the championship game, which should make for great playoffs. Is ESPN3 showing all the games like they did last year? Watching all the games was great.

As head of officials will he serve an administrative role only or will he actually pull on the pinstripes once in a while? Does anybody know?

Yeah we heard you the first 500 times. The reffing was terrible last night but if you think that's the only reason we lost you better watch it again, they outskated us badly, and it has happened every Saturday this season so there needs to be some kind of adjustment made. Don't call people out for being bad fans because they state obvious things, for whatever reason we have played poorly on Saturday nights this year, that is a fact.

Disturbing pattern of Saturday sluggishness shows up again, you can point at the refs for some of it but they outplayed us pretty badly, they could have put a 10 spot on us if it wasn't for Saunders.

Nice to get that Friday monkey off their backs at St. Cloud, now finish the job tomorrow.
