  1. Somebody posted that the Washington family is pushing for Hauck's return, everybody has a theory and an "inside source" so you can't really trust anything you hear, so who knows if there is any truth to it. But fresh off their $7 million donation this fall it would make for some interesting conversation if true...still I just can't see the University going for it based on past events, and have a hard time believing he wants to move back to FCS. But I don't have an inside source so I'm probably wrong.
  2. Sounds like the Russian and Johnson both practiced this week, I hope they both play because it would be a better game.
  3. Me either, but ya know...it might work for that.
  4. I assume you mean Natural Ice tall boys?
  5. No, it was Hauck's players and lack of leadership that caused most of the sh^tstorm we went through, his "above the rules" attitude set this program back even after he was gone. Still there would be those "win at any cost" fans who would roll out the red carpet, but not anybody from the University or BOR.
  6. Are they counting on these guys pitching too, they have nothing left for starters?
  7. They needed that win for some positivity going forward, didn't see that coming with NAU having so much on the line.
  8. What?? That can't be right, they never play well before Christmas?? Feels a lot better than the "What the hell's wrong with these guys" threads that show up on the slow start years.
  9. Anyone? Not one person tailgating or at the 10,000 bars and Sioux functions he attends? Strange...
  10. Has anyone on this site actually met him in person and can verify anything about him? Because he's everywhere apparently.
  11. How can anybody possibly think he's worth a roster spot? Just shows how thin the QB position is in the NFL right now.
  12. Looks like it's been pretty quiet here from the Montana fans, I guess I could offer up a real quick assessment of us. Offensively we've been up and down, mostly because the O-line is very young, and the two guys who were expected to be the anchors have been banged up. Johnson has had to rush a lot of throws and has taken more hits than he should, and the passing numbers have reflected that. And of course the running game has felt that too, the two backs are pretty good and big-play threats but consistently having holes has been an issue. We have a good bunch of receivers, Henderson has been banged up and I'm not sure where his health is for this game, if given time Johnson can do quite a bit of damage through the air, but like I said time in the pocket hasn't been a luxury so far. I think we will keep getting better offensively as the line gets healthier and settles in, but we're not there now. Defensively we've been better than expected, losing the entire LB crew was the biggest concern coming in but the young guys stepping in have been surprisingly decent and have brought a lot of enthusiasm to the field. Upfront we knew would be the strength coming in, they've been able to keep games close even when the offense has struggled, had trouble slowing down NDSU's running game but hung tough in the red zone and kept it close. Defensive backfield is about average...they make plays, they give up plays...I consider them middle of the road. Kicking game is not good right now, not a lot of confidence in any of the kickers which is a repeat of last year until one finally stepped up...we're hoping that happens again soon. Punter Shaw has a big leg but has had a few issues lately including a block and a couple shanks the last couple weeks, really unusual to see anything from him except rainmakers so we're hoping that was a glitch that doesn't show up again. If UND plays like they did last week and Molberg has enough time to throw before Wagenmann and Co. can get to him they might be able to hang around, but really the key is getting enough pressure on Johnson to force him into quick throws, with our O-line issues it has been difficult to sustain long drives when teams have been able to get good push off the line and keep us in long yardage situations, many punts and a few big plays is not the ideal way to win games, it hangs your defense on the field for way too long. Should be fun, wish I could be there for this one.
  13. People thought I was nuts 2 years ago when I said they should trade Peterson and Allen for a bunch of draft picks and start rebuilding the right way...how's that looking now? It's never easy being a Vikings fan.
  14. You should be in a better mood coming out of a Holiday weekend Charlie.
  15. Rumor has it their nuts hurt. Sorry Goon I couldn't let that one slide by.
  16. ...and bacon, that's an All American meal there son.
  17. ...or one less star on his conduct chart, nothing is certain in this league.
  18. So in review, Seabrook is given a 3 game suspension without pay while Lucic pays $5000 and gets to keep playing. So the moral of the story is you'd be better off intentionally slashing guys in the nuts every few games than delivering a sketchy hit once a year. Makes sense.
