  1. No, because I do not know what his true ambitions are, but I am making a case for the many that thought it was ridiculous for him to apply because of the money...so many cannot see the forest through the trees.
  2. For those of you that said he would never consider UND because he is making 350K in the NFL, as he and the rest of you just found out, the NFL is not forever and 200-400K per year at UND for a long time, possibly the rest of his career if everything went as planned is more then 350K for one year. Yes 400+K would easily be his earnings in future years at UND if he had any mild success at all and that success would be totally dependent on his performance as head coach... his success is not as controlled as an assistant coach, especially in the NFL. Job security and safe earnings potential was much greater as the head coach of UND. I am sure he would have applied if he knew he would have been out of a job at the end of the year. It will most likely be awhile before he makes it back to the NFL again...rookie coaches that get fired generally do not get rehired right away in the NFL. As Jerry Glanville once said the NFL stands for Not For Long. It's not always about the money, especially when the money is here today and gone tomorrow...job security and safe earning potential should always be considered when making career decisions.
  3. Wow big blow to the ego of Bison Nation...Some Bison faithful were delusional to the point that they actually thought the Bison FB job was a destination position...The only college coaching destination position in this state is UND hockey...I say this the morning after our hockey team just swept a team coached by a former successful NHL coach...stuff like that does not happen at the FCS level folks...
  4. Tibesar made 250k as Purdue D coordinator last year...rookie linebacker coach in NFL would be about the same so financially it would be similar. He has no head coaching experience so you have to start somewhere as a head coach if your ultimate goal is to coach FBS or NFL as they rarely hire anyone without head coaching experience at that level. Throw in the fact his wife is from GF and he played and coached here in the past and it starts to make more sence. In addition I am sure the chance to be the head coach and run the show is enticing for him. Settling down for a few years in a familiar place to raise his young family would also be appealing for him and his family. IMO he would be interested in this job.
  5. I find it very interesting that Tibisar is the only potential candidate that fulfills all three of the preferred qualifications on the application...D1 head coach or coordinator; played/coached in NFL; CFL coaching experience...why is CFL even mentioned?
  6. That's only 29,166 beers at the Alerus folks!...we can make that up in a hurry with a good coach!
  7. IMO...Lennon and Schweigart are out...they left us high and dry for a complete lateral move...anyone tied to that is not welcomed back
  8. Tibesar is by far the best candidate. Dream team is Tibisar as HC and Bollinger as AC. That duo would have recruiting ties all over the country. Defensive minded head coach would be a good fit for this program. He is a fast tracker and most likely this would be a stepping stone for him, but also a good fit for him as his wife is from GF and it would be a good place for him to settle down for a few years and raise his family and gain some D1 head coaching experience. Brooks as his offensive coordinator would also be a good fit for Bollinger to gain some valuable experience for a few years and then take over the program when Tibesar moves on to greener pastures.
  9. Mackey couldn't cover his own shadow.
  10. why run a no huddle offence if we are going to stand at the line and wait and wait and wait for the play to get signaled in...it is pure nonsense and embarrassing...huddle up, get on the same page and communicate with each other...bush league...

    Fire Muss

I'm sure plant services would have done the practice field by the railroad tracks ...or city would have done valley middle school...anything but burn 3 days of spring practice shoveling snow into tiny garbage cans...boggles the mind...
  12. Tibesar made 250K as Purdue D coordinator last year...not sure of his salary as Bears assistant but guessing pretty similar ...I say we offer him the 250k...worst he can say is no... chance to be a head coach at the D1 level with more job security and at his alma mater and wife's hometown could be a good fit for him and his family

    Fire Muss

I think Mussman lost support of his team last spring when he had them shovel snow into tiny garbage cans for 3 days..bizarre scene...it is possibly the dumbest and most narrow minded thinking on solving a problem that I have ever witnessed ...that is when the players looked at each other and said this guy is our leader?
  14. To compare apples to apples...here is UND's record vs 4 FBS teams since 2010... 2010...lost to Northern Illinois 23-17...N.I. finished #30 in the final 2010 FBS power rankings...best team either NDSU or UND has played and UND was one play away... 2011...lost to #83 Fresno State 27-22...again just one play away from winning... 2011...lost to #113 Idaho 44-14 (UND was up 14-10 at half and fell apart in 2nd half to a poor FBS team, it was the following week after game vs Fresno St...but none-the-less a poor effort and the only one of the 4 games that was 2012...lost to #66 San Diego State 49-41...again just a play or two away... That's comparing apples to apples vs NDSU...yes NDSU is 4-0 against their 4 FBS opponents and UND is 0-4 but you can see the gap isn't that far off. UND has played better opponents and had opportunities to win 3 of the games and led the other at half...no one would claim that UND was a national championship caliber team in any of those years while NDSU was the best team in FCS all 3 years. Point is that my assumption for NDSU to calm down about their 4 FBS wins is correct.
  15. most likely won't be this year but very good chance within 3 years...for sure before Taylor inks the contract. As long as Taylor is in charge there will be no regular season game between NDSU/UND, but if both are in the playoffs you can bet the NCAA will match them up. NDSU team make up will change dramatically next year, especially if Bohl is gone...so no guarantee Bison win that playoff game after this year...the window of opportunity of dominance over UND is closing for NDSU without them even playing us...
  16. Hey congrats to NDSU and all they have accomplished the past few years...very impressive...but until they have that Nickel back in Fargo, that trophy case, the national championships, and the wins over FBS schools will be a little hollow. If they had any brains down south, not only would they have played UND every year but twice a year home and home. They could own a long win streak over us now but they are so thick headed they can't think straight. By the time they do get around to playing UND, UND will be on par with them...short sided thinking by them for sure. P.S. the next time UND and NDSU plays a football game against each other will be in the playoffs...and it will be very soon.
  17. Great win by Bison on Friday...4th in a row over FBS team...lets break down those wins... 2010 beat Kansas who finishes 1-7 in Big 12 and ranked 111 out of 120 FBS teams in the final power rankings... 2011 beat Minnesota that was 2-6 in Big 10 and #94 in final power rankings ... 2012 beat Colorado State that was 3-5 in Mtn West and #100 in final 2012 power rankings... Friday beat Kansas St who are picked 6th in the Big 12 and are currently #64 in the power rankings... All wins by the Bison are impressive but they have been fortunate to play these schools during down years...final analysis is calm down Bisonville you beat 3 teams you should have and one maybe...
  18. All the credit to St. Cloud for a perfect game plan and executing it to a tea...but the fact that we did nothing to disrupt that game plan tells me a lot about this team ...I hope I am wrong but I am just saying...
  19. Wow... Sorry for posting the same thing 9 times... Not sure how that happened?
  20. Bottom line is Minnesota came out the weekend feeling pretty good about themselves and any time they come out of the weekend feeling good about themselves after playing the Sioux...that's not a good weekend for the Sioux....
  21. Feels like a loss...can't not win that game!...why did the lightbulb go off on last shift with Gramaldi on top line...it was over if we figured that out a lot earlier...
