Dave, My numbers are fact. No deflection from reality there. If your original argument was that precisely GF would only win 1 out of 4 titles from 2012-2015 then I guess you were correct. If you can show me that quote I will eat crow. Here is my quote...save it and post it 7 years from now and tell me I am wrong: GF hockey in the next 7 years will, as it currently does, dominate high school hockey in ND. You really don't believe that Minot was a better team then Central was this year do you? Even the Minot kids know better. They played the type of game they needed to win that single game and good for them, they earned it but nobody believes that they were the best team in the state this year. Fact is that GF teams dominated the state this year and will for at least the next 7 years. GF hockey goes in cycles. Central had the upper hand the last two years and probably will the next two as well and then RR will probably take the lead for a couple of years and then it could be back to Central again. PS...Good luck to the GF Greyhounds as the just won the state Pee Wee A title and are heading to play in the regional in Madison WI...the same regional that GF won last year as Pee Wees...another accomplishment by up and coming GF high school players that I failed to mention on my last post.

GF has been in the state championship game 19 out of the last 20 years GF Central was 20-2 vs ND teams outside of Grand Forks this year GF Red River was 17-4 vs ND teams outside of Grand Forks this year GF Red River JV hasn't lost in 2 years and Centrals has a only lost a couple to ND schools Last years state A Bantam championship game was GF vs GF, the B1 was GF vs GF, and the B was GF vs GF 2013 state A Bantam championship game was GF vs GF GF went to a AA bantam team this year because there wasn't good enough competition for them in ND Tomorrows Pew Wee Championship is GF vs GF Squirt A level is dominated by GF in ND ...it's not even close. Dave K. your prediction of the fall of GF hockey is greatly exaggerated!

I too hate everything about the 2 game road contract...but I think this was something that will kick start interest in UND football. I am sure season tickets will go up as interest renews in the rivalry and UND football once again in the new era Bubba is rebuilding with the program. I think 4 years between games is ridiculous (2015 & 2019)...wouldn't it be great if we could sneak in a couple home playoff games in GF against the Bison between then? One last thought, before any of you Bison faithful pay homage to what you think Gene Taylor has done by not playing us and being the architect this contract for two home games...think about this...If Gene would have agreed to play us when we transitioned to D1, NDSU would most likely have a long winning streak against us now, but by delaying the rivalry he has bought UND the time to once again dominate the games like they did the last 10 meetings. As Rocky would tell anyone willing to listen "national championships ring hollow if you don't beat those knuckleheads to the north"

I like what I am hearing from the team...talk of being loose and having fun...that is a breath of fresh air. I am convinced that UND will never win a national title under Hakstol until he abandons the businessman's approach to hockey at the NCAA tournament. Emotion wins tournaments and you have to be loose and have fun. IMO they were always successful at the WCHA final 5 because they had a spot secured in the NCAA and could just go out and have fun and play...they were loose and were very successful in that tournament year in and year out. To the contrary in the NCAA tournament, the businessman's approach is not working...playing way to tight. Is this the year we figure it out?...we will see...
