  1. I have 6 tickets for Saturday...lower bowl...4 on the isle in 104 and 2 in 103 (lower corner)...all are behind the net Sioux shoot on in 1st and 3rd...awesome seats...$40 each... email at qualityzip@aol.com if interested
  2. No it's not...but that would be at least the third Sioux jersey at that game (another guy had a grean Teows jersey). Another interesting story is that we didn't have tickets to the game so we went to see if we could get some on the street outside of the arena and the first guy we spot was a guy in a Red Wings jersey trying to unload two tickets. We asked him what he wanted and he said face value which was only $35 each for 5th row upper deck behind Detroit net - nice seats and nice price! Anyway he recognized the Sioux jersey and told us he was recruited by UND for hockey in 1979 but chose to play junior hockey instead, a decision he now regrets. He could have been a teammate of UND Alum and current Phoenix head coach Dave Tippet as well as a two time national champion (80 and 82). He said he was going to try to get more for the tickets but when he saw it was North Dakota fans he said face value was enough...again the power of the Sioux jersey!
  3. My wife and I attended the Phoenix Coyotes/Detroit Red Wings game last night. It is a tradition that dates back to the Winnipeg Jets that the Jets, now Phoenix Coyotes fans wear white to the playoff games and create the 'sea of white'. When in Rome do as the Romans do, so the wife and I were dressed in white, which for me was the home Sioux jersey. It was amazing, though not surprising to me the incredible attention and respect I received from wearing that jersey. After 4 days of hearing all the negative connotations and misconceptions from the Arizona locals about North Dakota, suddenly for a few short hours while I walked the plaza, the local establishments, and the arena I was treated like a rock star. Every couple of minutes someone would high five me, yell 'go Sioux', or stop us and ask us where we were from and tell us how much they respect the jersey and the team. We met so many people, many from North Dakota/Minnesota and many others from all over the USA that recognized the jersey and wanted to stop me and voice their support of it. It is the most recognizable icon and respected symbol in all of North Dakota. I could not wear another symbol or moniker from North Dakota that would garner the attention and respect of a Sioux jersey. There is not another logo from North Dakota that makes me feel as proud of our state as a Sioux jersey. To do away with it would be more than a shame. Keep fighting the good fight, as will I, and I think we will see the retention of the Fighting Sioux name!
  4. I love your passion for Sioux hockey...no hard feelings, just having fun...$1000 is out the window...I will be there with kids in tow...buy you a beer in Detroit!...
  5. You don't have a parking pass...otherwise DEAL!!!
  6. No thanks...we probably have over 100 pucks at home. My kids, when they were 5, used to collect the pucks they got from Sioux players during warmups.
  7. For the record...I have 6 season tickets. I gave two tickets away for tomorrows game to a couple that have never been to a Sioux game. I just threw that offer out there to see what kind of interest there really was for this game. Don't get me wrong I would take the $1000 if someone was willing, for $1000 two of my four kids, who really don't care that much could stay home. I also get a kick out of watching all the lefties who like dressing up as refs and collecting pucks get all bent out of shape.
  8. Who is selling a ticket for $1000. I see $1000 for 6 tickets for the weekend...that is $166 per ticket. Hey, I have 6 tickets split between two locations in the arena. Together with these tickets, donations for Fighting Sioux Club, and concessions I probably spend $10,000 in that arena per year. If some guy wants to give me $1000 for two excellent tickets for the entire 3 game series what business is it of yours! For $1000 two of my four kids, who could care less, can stay home...I will still be there in one of my other four seats. On one hand you act like Sioux hockey is the the most important event in the world and on the other hand you can't understand why someone with the cash would spend $166 for a Sioux/Gopher ticket. Your hipocracy is insane! Mind your own business and continue trolling for your elusive $20 ticket for the Sioux/Gopher game.
  9. Those who have sat in them think they are...you do realize that the lower level of the Ralph is made up of season ticket holders right, so maybe some one who isn't a season ticket holder who wants to see a historic playoff series in awesome seats next to the ice would be willing to pay this. According to the Herald they are paying more than this and I know for a fact that they have paid more than this for Minnesota in the past. There are those out there willing to pay a good price to sit in a premium seat. I have paid premium myself for season ticket holder seats in other venues. Sure you can buy tickets in the upper deck for $65 but wouldn't seats on top of the action be worth more than that? I'm not making anybody buy them. I am just making them available at a price that would satisfy my dissatisfaction of not sitting there this weekend.

  17. Are we really changing the name solely based on our conference affiliation with the Summit League?! There has to be more to this than meets the eye because the hasty action from the board of higher education yesterday doesn't pass the logical test. Why the flip flop by Grant Shaft, chairman of the board, who just a few weeks ago on your show stated his support of the name and confidence that the Standing Rock reservation would also vote to keep the Sioux nickname? Why the 30 year term agreement that makes this an impossible accomplishment after the good people of the reservations have just proven overwhelming tribal support of the nickname? Why the hurried deadline of October 1st of this year to please the Summit League when South Dakota, who was just admitted to the league, will not begin play in the league until 2011-2012, a time frame well within the original nickname deadline assigned by the NCAA (Fall of 2010). Why so much worry over the Summit League? The Summit League doesn't include UND's two major sports, hockey and football. By the way, these two sports are by far the biggest revenue sports on campus. Combined they generate probably 90%-95% of the revenue to the athletic department through ticket sales, Fighting Sioux Club giving, concessions, and merchandising. So the higher board of education hastily met in Dickinson yesterday to solidify our place in the Summit League. A league which only benefits 5%-10% of the revenue produced by sports at UND? A league who desperately wants and needs UND to come to balance with an even number of teams and a location that is perfect for the league in terms of travel. Don't be fooled by the other 6 bogus teams who supposedly have applied to get into the Summit. A little fact finding will show that these schools do not match up to league standards for either travel logistics, academics, or fan support reasons. Also, for those of you who don't know already, the guy pulling the Summit League commissioners strings is none other than President Chapman from NDSU, who has convinced him that UND will bring a lot of 'baggage' to the conference if admitted. This decision must really have Mr. Chapman and NDSU in a great mood today! So who is happy with this decision? The alumni and fans of UND? NOOO!, as the message boards and comment sections of many web sites can verify, they are very angry! The majority of the folks on the Spirit Lake and Standing Rock reservations. NOOO!, they feel betrayed by UND as they stuck their necks out and went through a bitter and painful process to prove their overwhelming support for the name and now it is all for not! The opponents of the name. NOOO!, the majority of these folks are angered that the reason the name is being dropped is because UND needs a conference and not because of the reasons they decree that the name is hostile and abusive, etc! This was either an awful knee-jerk decision or there is more than meets the eye as it just doesn't pass the logical test!
  18. I have 2 tix for tonight - section 311 row I seat 8 & 9. $50 for the pair. call me at 701-739-5623
  19. I think Hak made a mistake by not playing our 4th line more (Malone, Lammy, Toews), especially in the last half of the 3rd and OT. They had three shifts in the 3rd and really had some jump in all three but didn't see the ice for the last 13 minutes of the game. They were banging and crashing the net hard and had fresh legs. They could have made the difference as we were clearly tired at the end of the game with all the penalty kills. Anyone else agree?
  20. I have two for tomorrow when we sweep the Gophers. They are on the isle (seats 1 & 2) in the upper corner of the upper deck. Great seats. On the end where the Sioux will light up Kangas in Periods 1 & 3. First $200 gets them or best offer by 1:00 tomorrow. email me at qualityzip@aol.com
  21. $100 for these tickets is hardly scalping. First of all you would not find 4 seats together if you were buying them from ticket master. Face value is $50 ($40 + all ticket master fees) and that would be a seat in the nosebleads because all other tickets belong to season ticket holders. When you consider that I pay $1500 a year to the Fighting Sioux Club before I can even have a chance to buy these seats you can do the math and see $100 is about what it would cost anyone for this ticket.
