  1. Correct...they can sell the unused tickets... and as courtesy they sell them to the athletic departments of the teams remaining in the tournament because their fans want and will use them. Those contacts have to be made before the regionals not after...hence huge mistake...
  2. Just so you know, I have had a couple thirteen, fourteen cold ones with two previous Athletic Directors so I know how this works...they failed to secure tickets from other teams in the tournament. They gave out about 200 tickets to FSC members and in the past they gave out well over 1000. I know what I am talking about and they made a huge mistake. You will see a lot more Maize and Blue and Maroon next Thursday because of it.
  3. All your requests would wipe out the amount of tickets that were actually given out to FSC members
  4. I have been told that our administration fumbled the ball on getting tickets for their loyal fans. I have been told that UND has only a few hundred tickets to give out to Fighting Sioux Club members. It is my understanding that UND was given 600 tickets from the NCAA as were the other 15 teams in the tournament. In the past the athletic departments would get on the phone prior to the tournament with the athletic departments of the other teams and would secure tickets from the other schools that would not make the Frozen Four. For example, in the past it was a given that the WCHA schools that lost in the regionals would give their unused tickets to the WCHA schools in the Frozen Four as would other teams in a conference without teams in the Frozen Four. So I would like to know where the unused tickets from Denver, Colorado College, and Nebraska Omaha are? Why didn't we get any? Denver and CC only had dozens of fans at the Final Five and the regionals so don't tell me they are using them...they are not. What about the tickets from ECAC and Hockey East schools that don't have a conference member in the Frozen Four? Where did these tickets go? Why didn't our athletic department secure these tickets last week prior to the tournament? What were they doing? So we will have a very small rooting section in one of the lower corners of the Xcel when in the past we would have 2000-3000 strong all decked out in green. How pathetic! Meanwhile, the loyal Sioux fans will find a way to get a ticket to watch their favorite team but it will come at a large price on the street. Surely some fans will pay way more than they should have to, all because our athletic department was too inept to find tickets for them. I am guessing that Duluth, Michigan, and Notre Dame fans were taken care of by their athletic department. I have been to numerous Frozen Fours. In the past we were always taken care of. Tickets were no problem, rooms either as UND would block a whole hotel for loyal fans of the Sioux. Not anymore...
  5. Need Frozen Four tickets for my niece and her husband flying in from Boise, ID. Please email me at qualityzip@aol.com if you have any.
  6. You post like a 3 yr old...do your parents know you spend a lot of time on this forum... By the way, my wife is Native American so don't go there... The vast majority of us pro-logo supporters want the people of Standing Rock to have their say and we will live with the results of their vote up or down...but what I can't stand is the voice of the entire reservation being squelched by a few on the tribal council...that is not right and even you should agree with that.
  7. Hey, Ace, I was referring to the Warriors of the 18th century that our University is named after...I was quite sure I am not Sioux...As for your many questions... I will fight for what's right, what has been tradition for 80+ years, what I believe in, and what is trying to be taken away from all of us under false pretenses... I guess I would meet with those that are making the decisions not to schedule us...duh... I wouldn't care what the nick name opponents do or say as I have facts and truth on my side... No I don't think Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa have a clue what UND offers...if they did they would have no problem doing business with us... I don't have the phone number for the Wizard of Oz but I could probably find the number of the administrators making these decisions... I agree that lobbying Standing Rock is the answer...the council is an elected representation and I would believe that in the near future there will be a council that will allow the vote at Standing Rock that would solve all our problems which is why we need to keep fighting until that happens. Faison, Kelly, SBOHE want to throw the towel in now without the good people of Standing Rock ever getting their say and that sir, is why the majority of us are so angry with them.
  8. For all of you out there buying the sky is falling dooms day scenarios spewed by Faison, etc remember this... ...If the Sioux logo is retired it is gone forever... ...if Minnesota will not schedule us tomorrow, it will not be forever...in fact it could probably be solved very soon with a few phone calls and an education on what UND does for the Native Community...It could be solved with Standing Rock finally getting a vote that will make us compliant with the settlement...It could be solved by our Senators getting involved with the NCAA... I, for one, am willing to fight and see this through. Now is not the time to give up. Let's see how this plays out before throwing in the towel on 80 years of tradition! Giving up now is cowardly. Ask yourself this...what would the real Fighting Sioux do? I would have to believe they would stay and fight to the bitter end...

  15. It's my opinion that from the 250+ possible football teams out there that we could find 3 that would play us to fill our non-conference schedule; from the 400+ basketball teams we could find 10 to fill our non-conference schedule and the same goes for all the other sports nobody cares about...hockey is a given...every team would love to play UND...
  16. And UND fans chant "F*%$ the Gophers" when Minnesota comes to town...do our administrators want to deal with that issue when they don't have to? Come on people... we can't control everything that happens in another arena! Every teams student section has inappropriate chants for every team that comes to town...do you really think it is just UND that gets this?...have you ever been to a game that doesn't involve UND...go check out Michigan/Ohio State football, Duke/North Carolina basketball, Red Sox/Yankees...like it or not it is part of sports culture and is not limited to just UND...good grief!
  17. Then again you could call the other 98% of the schools we have scheduled over the last ten years without incident and I am sure you would get a very favorable thumbs up from them. I am sure the Big Sky schools will agree that we are a great asset as we will have a great presence at their venues in the very near future adding to their bottom line. I am sure all the teams in the WCHA are very happy to have us on the schedule as just about all of the record attendence numbers in the WCHA were generated against UND as our fans flock to their building to watch their beloved Sioux play. I am sure the WCHA is happy when we make it to the WCHA Final Five year in an year out as we, by far, bring the largest contingent to the event...last year an estimated 10,000 Sioux fans packed the Xcel Center for the championship game. So you see the doomsday scenarios you spout are not the whole truth. You state a couple of very isolated incidents by a couple of morrons at the home school and explain it is an end all, when in fact there are many universities out there that love to schedule UND...just ask the commisioner of the Big Sky and the voting members. The glass is not empty, the sky is not falling....
  18. Personally, I don't buy this horror story of teams not scheduling us. That is a hypothetical argument and has no basis of fact at this point...pure speculation. We have been listed hostile and abusive for years now and I don't think it has been much of an issue with teams avoiding us. Furthermore, those who spew this scheduling nightmare for UND have to remember that the NCAA is not held in high requard by many schools. The NCAA has been a pain in the ass to the majority of the schools it represents and I don't think it would be hard to find many schools who would go out of there way and schedule UND just to thumb their nose at the NCAA. That said, if future scheduling would become an issue, can't we sit down with these universities and give them the facts. If I am not mistaken isn't UND in the education business? If a school has a problem scheduling UND then maybe UND should educate them on the facts of the issue. How hard would it be for President Kelley to meet with these people and bring the good folks from Standing Rock and Spirit Nation with him to explain to these universities the truth of the matter. The facts speak for themselves and the truth is always easy to communicate. I can't believe that if a school will not schedule UND our administration would just throw their hands in the air without dialog...how pathetic! If I have a customer that won't do business with me because he heard some lies about my company from a competitor I sure in the hell wouldn't take that sitting down! I would get on the phone immediately and prove to that customer that these lies have no merit and educate that customer about the truths and try to win back that customers confidence. There is a reason that Mr. Kelley and the rest of the administration wouldn't do this and it is obvious as the nose on your face...they have no intention and have never had intention of retaining the name!
  19. Hockey would not be affected by the Big 10 conference for many reasons. First and foremost the Big 10 would be made up of only 6 schools which leaves a huge scheduling void so it has been talked about that if this does indeed happen, they would have an interlocking schedule with the WCHA to fill out the schedule. Even withouth the interlocking WCHA schedule, Minnesota and Wisconsin would still schedule UND when possible...a couple of pinheads in the administrations of Wisconsin and Minnesota have made this an issue for other sports but the hockey people would never let these rivalries die. Ask Lou Nanne...ask Tom Reid...ask Don Lucia... they will tell you the same thing. The Big 10 league is less than a 50/50 proposition so again we are dealing with hypothetical issues here that are not likely to come into play. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a merry Christmas....
  20. So we removed the center ice logo in 2006...did that effect anyone that attended??? ...I don't get that. What I do get is the fact that the NCAA is not allowing any hockey regionals to be played on a college campus anymore so we would never even have the ability to bid on one, hense it is a non-issue for hockey. I am a football fan and I have attended every playoff football game at home and some on the road...do I think they are inferior to the hockey team...well if you go by the revenue they generate, the attendence, or the level of competition (D1 vs D1AA) or the success (7 D1 national champions vs 1 D2) then I guess yes they are... I don't think we should look at the past but rather the future and hosting future football playoff games is clearly the only issue left to debate and to me keeping the name is more important than hosting future playoff games especially when future playoff football games are neither guarenteed or expected on a yearly basis. In addition, you are speculating that the NCAA will not allow us to host football playoffs aren't you? As of today the NCAA has not said we can't host at the Alerus? WIll they?...maybe, but that is not an absolute given...so my basis is even stronger...
