  1. so being it is almost the end of june can we safely say Mr. Bjugstad will be coming back to Minnesota?
  2. it's probably a little early to start thinking about pairwise implications. that said coming out of those first three weeks at 5-1 or 4-2 will be alright for this club. I don't envision a slow start for this squad with all that is coming back.
  3. yeah just take a look at where the midwest and west regionals are next year(grand rapids and toledo), I would take a regional every at the X over those.
  4. INCH came out with it's "early" preseason top ten has UNDlisted at number 3 and the goophs 1 and michigan 2.
  5. can we stay on topic here? there are other threads for this stuff.
  6. he has a son on another team in nebraska
  7. pretty sure that isn't going to happen as rumor is there is another former sioux player that is going to be named the new assistant (associate head coach)there
  8. this has brad berry written all over it.
  9. I've heard the same thing, from several people with close ties to the program.
  10. so now we are going to hire NBA assistants?
  11. Eades was and is a very good coach and will find something very soon. I'm pretty sure he bleeds sioux green. I thank him for his time and everything he has done for this program. However, there is a reason why his contract is not being renewed and unless we are close to the program we will never know the exact reason. Hak has his reasons and in Hak I trust.
  12. this is why I mentioned litke, and I wouldn't she surprised at all if he ended up getting it.
  13. a few possible names: john marks brad berry dane litke jason herter. my guess is either jackson gets moved up and mark, litke or herter is hired or berry is hired and jackson stays were he is.
  14. it is better to have more than less as we found out this year. I'm pretty sure Hak won't mind having to make a decision or two or three or four or five each game.
  15. it really doesn't matter, our lineup it pretty much set for next year and if he comes it is a bonus. if not we never had him anyway and we'll still be pretty darn good.
  16. agreed. if we don't win the final five this year we probably end up getting shipped out east to play in bc's bracket-do we finally beat them this year, probably not. is the reason we lost to minny at the regional because we won the final five-no. the loss to end our season was a culmination of several factors. we played a better and deeper team, our goaltender had a bad day and the lack of a full and deep lineup finally caught up with us. none of that is beacuse we played three games in three days.
  17. I know, I just hope his family doesn't get to him after this season.
  18. does anyone actually think he will be here for four more years?
  19. Knight has confirmed he will be back next year.
  20. it's fun to talk about but let's remember who was the preseason number one was this last year-Notre Dame, and that didn't turn out to well for them. that being said I hope the gophs are rated that high early on. being number one in october/november is something they strive for. I remember during our series in minny last year how they were all talking about important it was to be ranked number one. they can be the preseason number one but at the end of the year we will be the better team.
  21. sources close to the matter have said hastings has been offered the job.
  22. maybe he had class but kristo didn't skate with the team today in an off season workout.
  23. I'd love to see Mr. Berry come back.
  24. thanks for kind of making my point for me, there are players who are NHL ready and those who aren't, and if you leave after two years to go spend the majority of the year in the minors you aren't ready. I'm of the same belief as Red at Michigan, if you are ready to go and play in the NHL he will drive them to the airport and if you aren't he isn't a happy camper. Hak has commented on players leaving in the past and has flat out said it was their time to go, he fell short of saying that last week at his press conference about Brock. instead he was tight lipped and said he would leave it to Brock's family. I could be wrong but I don't think he was too happy about him leaving.
  25. incentive and bonus wise it was an absolutely great deal but as far as actual cash in his pocket, I've seen better. I'd be willing to bet that some of those bonus' are for things like being an all-star, all-star game mvp, league award winner and playoff performances. none of which he will be in his first three years. I'm willing to bet toews and oshie made more in their first three years than he will.
