not if you don't have them in stupid locations like toledo and fort wayne. if you held them in places like st. paul, denver,omaha, milwaukee, worscetser(sp), manchester, providence and upper new york you would have pretty decent attendance especially if there were only two regional sites. each site gets one day and two games for the right to go to the frozen four. sounds pretty good to me.

hak has made mention of getting "two" players after the break. so that tells me parks amd mitch mcmillian will be there for holy cross.

and the same could go for michigan as they won the majority of their nat. titles in the very early years of the sport.

how you want to rank the best programs depends on what your criteria are. nat titles? frozen four appearances? conference championships? ncaa tournament appearances? if you uses all of these mich,und and minny are all right there with the edge going to mich as the number one.

if NDSU play Sam Houston they will win, if they play Eastern Wash they will lose. that said it is quite an accomplishment for them to be in their second straight title game in what their fourth year of being eligible.

exactly. why would it take a full week or so for travels plans in hockey but BB gets it done in less than week going from the regional finals to the final four. doesn't make sense.

someone said this several years ago and I liked it and I like it now. have the first round a best of 3 at the higher seeds home and then the follwoing weekend have two supergional finals at a neutral sites.

couldn't agree more, this makes me absolutely sick. my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families involved.

as sad as it is to say, I don't think this rivalry will ever be the same even when it resumes in what four years. same with wisconsin, granted that rivalry has been put on the back burner and has been for years. Our number one rival will will soon become DU if it hasn't already.

UND has had some dismal turnouts for playoff games at the the alerus center I remember some in the 5-7k range, pretty sad.

there probably isn't much difference, it just depends on the officials and what they want to call. ealy in the fri BU game there was another one you would have thought would have been a 5 min as well but wasn't. I've said this before that if you go back over the last 7 years since the Bina incident and look at the CFB calls for us and against us I'm pretty sure that number is completely out of whack. I am just submitting my opion here but I think it has to do with our reputation of being a very physical team.

couldn't agree more. however, seems like the majoirty around here feel a second half run is a given(including the SID who runs the chat during the games). the only squad under hakstol that seesm to have avoided the first half slump for the most part was the 10-11 squad. this years team seemed to have built for a run like that as well but so far has fallen into mediocrity like other teams in the first half. I say they split with DU, then sweep Tech next weekend for a 10-6-2 first half and sitting somehwere in the top 10 of the PWR. I', not sure this years second half schedule gives us the leeway for huge run. holy cross,cc,minn,scsu,uw, omaha,denver in that order before we get bemidji and msum at the end of the year. I see a lot of splits in there. sure would have been nice to have gotten another two three wins in the first half. I will say this and maybe I am wrong but it sure seems like more emphasis is put on winning the Final Five versus the big one at the end. it was 2010 and hak made the reference that they could have held back a little in their three day run and 6 games in 9 day stretch to maybe have a little gas left going into the regional but they decided it was important for the fans and the program to go for the win at the final five.
