couldn't agree more, this makes me absolutely sick. my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families involved.

as sad as it is to say, I don't think this rivalry will ever be the same even when it resumes in what four years. same with wisconsin, granted that rivalry has been put on the back burner and has been for years. Our number one rival will will soon become DU if it hasn't already.

UND has had some dismal turnouts for playoff games at the the alerus center I remember some in the 5-7k range, pretty sad.

I was at the game and didn't see jim's cfb, would anyone have video of it?
-
could be that or the week after when the second semester begins.

there probably isn't much difference, it just depends on the officials and what they want to call. ealy in the fri BU game there was another one you would have thought would have been a 5 min as well but wasn't. I've said this before that if you go back over the last 7 years since the Bina incident and look at the CFB calls for us and against us I'm pretty sure that number is completely out of whack. I am just submitting my opion here but I think it has to do with our reputation of being a very physical team.

couldn't agree more. however, seems like the majoirty around here feel a second half run is a given(including the SID who runs the chat during the games). the only squad under hakstol that seesm to have avoided the first half slump for the most part was the 10-11 squad. this years team seemed to have built for a run like that as well but so far has fallen into mediocrity like other teams in the first half. I say they split with DU, then sweep Tech next weekend for a 10-6-2 first half and sitting somehwere in the top 10 of the PWR. I', not sure this years second half schedule gives us the leeway for huge run. holy cross,cc,minn, scsu,uw, omaha, denver in that order before we get bemidji and msum at the end of the year. I see a lot of splits in there. sure would have been nice to have gotten another two three wins in the first half. I will say this and maybe I am wrong but it sure seems like more emphasis is put on winning the Final Five versus the big one at the end. it was 2010 and hak made the reference that they could have held back a little in their three day run and 6 games in 9 day stretch to maybe have a little gas left going into the regional but they decided it was important for the fans and the program to go for the win at the final five.

however, number 7 of this years squad did listen. it does have an effect on players, just not as many as we would like to see.

are there any highlights of last night out there anywhere?
-
it's saturday, we'll face another "hot goalie". until they prove otherwise on saturdays CC 4-1.
-
like I said earlier this years team has a serious scoring disability, it cost us last night as we could finish and it will cost us down the road as well. the CC goalie is horrible and we make him look like a frickin all-american. we supposedly do have goal scorers but can't get the job done.
-
what difference does it make to put up 46 SOG and outshoot your oppenent by 20+ if you can't frickin put the puck in the net? this team has some serious offensive problems. last night just emphasized that. never in my wildest dreams for this season did I ever think scoring would be a problem. this is all on the players as they are the one missing left and right and open nets for the last 7 weeks. I don't want to hear hot goalie as this guy has been lit up all year and suddenly against us plays "well". like I said it is all on these drafted players that can't frickin score.
-
who cares if he says he could see it or not. the only person that couldn't see it was the ref and that is all that matters. Saunders says he "had" it somewhere so end of story.
-
maybe this has been covered, if not I apoligize. but is erbert and gerberts still planning on opening here? I thought they were supposed to open around the same time as noodles and co. but the middle spot of the building looks vacant with nothing going there.
-
I just can't see CC going three straight weekends with no wins and until our squad shows us they can win two games in the same weekend. a split it must be.
-
I'll take a split this weekend. however, if they can build off their third period on saturday and come close to playing 120 minutes like that more than 2 points is a definate possibility. that said should they split I'm sure I will be complaining
-
go back over the past few years and look at penalties taken in the first half of the year versus the second half especially with him and when blood was here. in the first half they both took a lot of penalties like this and in the second half they tone it down a bit. it seems like Hak allows them to play freely and then tightens the reigns come january.
-
I'll add lack of hustle as we have lost way too many battles for loose pucks. this team doesn't have that grit factor teams in the past have had. we used to be a team that was difficult to play against, this season not the case.

t this is beyond tonights game this is in regards to sat in alaska, sat at home against alaska, sat at home against bu, sat at scsu and fri at home against duluth. there is absolutely no reason this team should not have won TWO of those game-none. instead all you see and hear is it is november, this team is still learning, let them develop. DU lost more this offseason than we did and they aren't struggling too much. BC lost a hell of a lot more than we did and I don't see them "learning" in november. last I checked york and BC have won more titles in the last 7 months than we have in a 12 years. these "slow" starts are pathetic. you would think you would start to see some improvement if they are "learning"-where is it?
-
second half runs are not a given. have they fortunate to have done it each of the last 8 years-yes. one of these years it won't happen and we will be sitting at home after the WCHA playoffs. however it is utterly ridiculous to put yourself in a position where you have to go on a second half run every season. parity will catch up with us one of these years.
-
I shutter to think of how many shots and goals we allow to DU in two weeks. I'm thinking 60 and 8 on friday night and 55 and 7(10 if gothberg starts) sat night. that series will be brutal.

that was another quality garbage saturday performance
