  1. hey, by some people's standards hak has run und's program into the ground. so you never know what each person's criteria are.
  2. could Knight's involvement with the preseason party damage his chances at the hobey baker, as off the ice behavior is a main component of the award and as we all know it killed frattin two years ago?
  3. exactly, when the opposing team's d has the puck at the point in our zone I am always fearful of a shot fromt he point going in as for some reason we let a ton of those go in. as opposed to when our d has the puck at the point in their zone I'm always thinking blocked shot or just a shot into their legs.
  4. this series has nailbiter written all over it. fri 2-1 take your pick and sat 1-1. we will continue to struggle to score as we can't seem to figure out how to play teams that clog up the middle. the book is out on us, clog up the middle and wait for a defensive lapse on our end is the recipe to defeat UND.
  5. I have a feeling rocco stays on the top line for at least this friday and the RPM line stays toegther as well. as for mr. mitch I think he is in and out of the lineup from here on out probably splitting time with chyzyk.
  6. got ya, however if you were on ss.com after those two splits and loss to cc, it was no different than it has been the last few weeks on here.
  7. this team did go on a second half run. it started in late january on a saturday night in colorado springs versus cc. in the previous two weekends und split with the gophers and omaha and lost friday night at cc. the team won saturday night and didn't lose again until that fateful night in st. paul agianst michigan.
  8. I will add to this the stupid after the whistle penalty by pattyn in the first which lead to their first goal. it blows my mind that the crowd goes goes wild for this stuff when it puts us in a pk situation against one of the best pp's in the league. oh well, I guess more people would like to cheer for this crap than smart winning hockey.
  9. first 10 minutes? how about the first 5 minutes without being down 1-0.
  10. nice to know we're not the only ones pissing around.
  11. 2005-bubble team 2006-yes but probably would make it 2007-yes but probably would make it 2008-no 2009-no 2010-bubble team, but final five run killed this team with 6 games in 9 nights 2011-no 2012-yes, but probably would make it 2013-??
  12. for a program like UND's at least once a decade isn't asking too much.
  13. three games in 3 three days or 6 games in nine days, yeah those have helped our tournery prospects. how many frozen fours have we made after playing three games in three days at the final final five-one. and how many have we won-none. and this year has six in nine written all over it. I've said it before, why is the WCHA the only league to have a flippin third day. I sure as hell hope the NCHC doesn't.
  14. can we stop with the two new players thing. easy solution, sit mitch mac as he brings absolutely nothing to table. nothing. then you only have to find a spot for parks, which who by them way has been less than impressive since his return. so we go into x-mas with a little momentum and then insert two players who have brought virtually nothing to table and have messed everything up. nice
  15. I would take ONE, just one in his tenure.
  16. teams take on the personality of their coaches and none of these three coaches is a firery(sp) type of coach so therefore the team will show no fire and will take on a business like aproach to everything. those of you who are wishing/hoping for a coaching change-it isn't gonna happen unless hak leaves on his own. mussman and jones still have jobs at this university and have acomplished nothing compared to what hakstol has. on a side note I could give rip about the final five as it means nothing and has doen more harm to our ncaa hopes than has helped in recent years. IMO only the green banners that are hung have meaning and this program hasn't won in over a decade and is approaching the longest title drought in program history. we can have all the talent in the world but if we don't win a title every so often it goes wasted.
  17. won't matter. doesn't look like this team cares.
  18. this season is quickly becoming a f-in lost cause. last years squad that was undermanned most every night had more heart, soul and grit than this team will ever have. i'm about ready ready to sell my frozen four tickets as the only way und will be there is if they are running maintenace crew. i could sell them to some quinnipiac fan who would have more use for them. this is frickin pathetic. I think tonights game tells us a whole lot about the heart and focus of this squad. you come off a disappointing weekend last weekend and all we hear this week is you have to be ready for st. cloud and to get run aout of the building by a team that split with rpi and got swept at home by northern michigan is an utter embarassment for one of the so called "top" programs in the country. absolutely pathetic. whohoo what a great second half run we are experiencing. i kept telling people it may not happen one year and this appears to be it with an overrated underachieiving team. fall the 11th in the pairwise, let's fall six more spots and offically be in position to put an end to this disaster of a season.
  19. if they keep rocco off that top line i'd like to see: mark mac-knight-kristo rocco-rowney-drake mitch mac-st. clair-parks jim-rodwell-pattyn
  20. my understanding of why rocco isn't on that top line is because the coaching staff believes or is hoping that with keeping rocco off that line you can have 3-4 lines capable of scoring which makes it harder for opposing teams to defend.
  21. I think pattyn stays with rocco and drake hak mentioned after saturdays game he like a lot of things from that game,so therefor I don't see any changes from last sat night including gothberg in the nets.
  22. in a valiant effort to change the direction of this thread USCHO came out today with it's second bracketology: West Regional (Grand Rapids) 13 Boston University vs. 2 Minnesota 12 Western Michigan vs. 7 Massachusetts-Lowell Midwest Regional (Toledo) 14 St. Cloud State vs. 3 Boston College 10 Notre Dame vs. 6 North Dakota Northeast Regional (Manchester) 15 Minnesota State vs. 4 New Hampshire 9 Dartmouth vs. 8 Miami East Regional (Providence) 16 Niagara vs. 1 Quinnipiac 11 Denver vs. 5 Yale if this were to be how it actually came to be Denver would have a cakewalk to pittsburg and we would be in one of Goon's favorite terms the "region of death".
  23. two or three years ago this would not have happened, maybe not even last year as blood would have layed more than a finger on him. our d has become way too soft. Even a little farther back I remember watching the 2005 Frozen Four and listening to the ESPN guys just rave about how physical our d was with green and smaby leading the way and now it is almost as if they are afraid to lay a hit on someone other than big mac.
  24. I think he started the friday game at home against uaa.
  25. odonnell hasn't been the same this season since he got hurt last year.
