this doesn't cure all ills but is sure a step in the right direction as long as they continue to take those steps. we said the same thing after the sat night gopher tie and saw what happened the following friday against scsu.

the mental toughness on this team is severely lacking as for the umteenth time this year we score a goal and then give one up within like two minutes. this squad has way tooo many chinks in their armor to be a serious title contender come march/april. it remains to be seen if they can fix them. I am begininng to question that as we continue to see the same crappy mistakes made time and time again. even if we are fortunate to make the tourney we have one and done written all over us.

I thought listening to the team all week they were supposed to come out and play with tanastaty(sp) this this be redemption weekend. guess not.

and I thought I was negative.

yep.

2-1 UND. pattyn and parks

I prefer to follow you and schloss on the chat instead of watching the game and I have no buffering issues with that, only being called too negative sometimes

I think he is smarter than that.

unless it has changed in recent years, it used to not be that hard to get credentialed. although being an inside beat reporter for ss.com probably won't get you that far.

somebody asked Hak today at the press conference about the physicality of this years team, Hak basically dismissed it and questioned if the guy was getting his info from the message boards and moved on to the next question. I found it quite funny, although I would question if he was getting the ideas for his questions from here as he asked that question and proceeded to ask averyone at the podium if they were frustrated they haven't gone on the pattented second half run yet. how some people get credentials is beyond me.

there have been a number of people who thought friday night minny game they played well.
-
let's wait and hope the team can right the ship and be playing that sat night in april instead of hoping for a consolation prize of winning the hobey and being disappointed.

look to see westen michigan and minnesota in grad rapids. michigan is the host but western michigan will be the best that region will draw as far as attendance goes. miami should be a lock to somehow end up in toledo as well. but this is what the ncaa wants, neutral sites but have to try and hope certain teams end up there. I know there is a different thread for this but have the top eight schools a irst round series kind of like it used to be 20-30 years ago.

something isn't right. you have zero wins in the last fours games and yet have supposedly played well in three of them. that doesn't add up. if you play well and all you can do is get a tie, that isn't good. where are we going to turn it on in the next month? realistically split, split, split, sweep, split and that leaves you in a must win situation going into the wcha tournament. this team is doing itself no favors right now. you might not win titles in january, but you sure as hell can put yourself ina positon to not win one.

the course of this season has to change and hopefully this weekend is as good as any to start that change. I've heard and read many people over the past two weeks say we played well in both minny games and on sat night against scsu. so in three of the last four games against the top two teams in league we have supposedly played well and have a combined zero wins in those games, so either we aren't as good as some think or we've been very unlucky.

hey, by some people's standards hak has run und's program into the ground. so you never know what each person's criteria are.

could Knight's involvement with the preseason party damage his chances at the hobey baker, as off the ice behavior is a main component of the award and as we all know it killed frattin two years ago?

exactly, when the opposing team's d has the puck at the point in our zone I am always fearful of a shot fromt he point going in as for some reason we let a ton of those go in. as opposed to when our d has the puck at the point in their zone I'm always thinking blocked shot or just a shot into their legs.

this series has nailbiter written all over it. fri 2-1 take your pick and sat 1-1. we will continue to struggle to score as we can't seem to figure out how to play teams that clog up the middle. the book is out on us, clog up the middle and wait for a defensive lapse on our end is the recipe to defeat UND.

I have a feeling rocco stays on the top line for at least this friday and the RPM line stays toegther as well. as for mr. mitch I think he is in and out of the lineup from here on out probably splitting time with chyzyk.

got ya, however if you were on ss.com after those two splits and loss to cc, it was no different than it has been the last few weeks on here.
-
this team did go on a second half run. it started in late january on a saturday night in colorado springs versus cc. in the previous two weekends und split with the gophers and omaha and lost friday night at cc. the team won saturday night and didn't lose again until that fateful night in st. paul agianst michigan.

I will add to this the stupid after the whistle penalty by pattyn in the first which lead to their first goal. it blows my mind that the crowd goes goes wild for this stuff when it puts us in a pk situation against one of the best pp's in the league. oh well, I guess more people would like to cheer for this crap than smart winning hockey.
