a bigger net? smaller goaltender?

I don't buy the attendance issue. the committee pays very little reagard to this. besides my bet is minny and western michigan end up in grand rapids. miami in toledo, obviously new hampshire in manchester and qu in providence, so attendance issues will be negated a little bit. if the ncaa really cared about attendance they would go back to having regionals on on campus sites.

I think even if they were to lose this weekend to BSU they still would be a number one seed.

I'm not sure I would write this game off just yet, but you are correct in the work that lies ahead for next year. if you have two of the best women players on the planet on your team and just manage to "sneak" into the playoffs that can't be a good sign for what lies ahead for this program.

this is a what if scenario. what if the boys didn't put as much stock into winning a cup or for that matter really worried where they finish. not saying they didn't want to, but instead took this last weekend to try a few different things knowing they were going to make the NCAA. they tried a few different line combos from what had worked the last month, came a way with a split without a whole lot of offense and now they go back to what had worked and flip the switch for an epic playoff run.

we beat tech in three, beat duluth on thurs at final five, lose friday to a well rested minny team. go to toledo as the number two seed, beat niagara, then beat miami in a classic to advance to frozen four, beat minny in thursday semi final and then beat SCSU for number 8.

sweeping the huskies would be huge consdering we would play next thurs. that being said this years team does nothing easy so I will say we will win in three.

that has been a problem all year. hopefully, in the next few weeks they can figure that out.

I don't have a problem with the split, I thought going in that is what would happen. my problem or concern is the effort and lack of emotion being displayed other than tears shed after last sat. over the last two months it has happened way to frequently(not showing up). both cc games, fri at minny, fri at home scsu, fri wisc, fri denver, fri bsu, both msum. it is an alarming trend. now maybe they plan on flipping the switch come friday night as maybe theur entire focus has been a playoff run without much regard for the regular season. let minny celebrate with the cup, we have bigger fish to fry in piitsburgh..

where did I say it was terrible? and where did I say it was the worst coaching staff ever? tell me this, going back to our last titles in 2000 or 1997 or 1987 were we still messing with top line this late in the season? if we were then i will just shut up on the sublect then.

could someone please tell me what the hell hak was doing taking rocco off the top line replacing him with a true freshman who hasn't done a whole lot this year except for a three game stretch in december. typical hakstol always playing with line combos despite having only one loss in the last month. this truly is sad to be still messing with them and to have not settled onto a top line. no need to guess where the inconstistency of this years team comes from, the top.

I know that can happen, I just don't see minny not winning tonight.

third place is better than fourth but it still effin sucks knowing we will have to play the thursday game at the x and face three games in three days. although with this team's tendency to not show up for games we probably won't have to play three games at the final five.

and prior to that I think it was march 2006 it was the first game the first round of the wcha playoffs.

problem with that is I don't see minny getting less than 3 against bemidji and st. cloud less than 2 against wisco which would still put us in third. we need the stars, the planets and the moon to align correctly to avoid finishing third. which brings me back to my earlier point of how damaging it was leaving that extra point on the table saturday.

look at our 2010 squad, prime example of how that affects you. they were dead tired against yale.

that point we left on the table saturday I have a feeiling is really going to come back and bite us. I just don't see us sweeping this weekend despite our recent success versus msum. I don't think we have lost to them since october of 2008. 4-3 mavs on fri, 5-2 und sat and we''ll see tech the following weekend.

my guess is if that were to happen, it would go to st. cloud being they hold tie breakers over both us and minny and would be the number one seed in the tournament.

I think it will be easier for this year's team to win a natty than the broadmoar for various reasons, one of which is in all liklihood we would be playing three games in three days again and the level of competeion will be probably the best the final five has ever produced this year. last year we did win it playing three in three but the other team we were playing was playing their third game in three days as well(6 in nine days if you really want to get specific).

I think Gwoz and Lucia have both said it is tougher to win the Mac Cup than it is to win a nat title.

there was a time in january that year where they went through some struggles. they lost at home to minny and omaha before going to cc and losing the friday night game. they won on sat and didn't lose again until that fateful night against michigan. there was some hand wringing in january.
