correct me if I am wrong but didn't both teams have to play on crappy ice? that is a by-product of agreeing to playing in these novelty games. you don't get the best conditions. this is way too late in the season to be having these novelty games(goes for our game last week as well) points are too important this late in the season. if they want to do these things have them be non conference games over x-mas break.

nothing elese has gone und's way this weekend so I'm sure the gophers will win.

some WCHA team is going to get paired up as a two seed in quinnipiac's regional and whoever that is will have a cakewalk to pittsburgh. kind of like duluth did in 2011 getting paired up with the then number one overall seed in yale.

no way the goophs split with duluth at home. it looks like the dogs have given up after that late game debacle against denver. EDIT. I also don't see the huskies splitting with tech at home either. so all of the top three teams seem to have a would be sweep series at home.

agreed. because if you can get out of that first round without having to play a third game it puts you in much better position if you have to play 3 in 3 at the final five.

very nice weekend for the boys. beat my expectations. very good way to go into the off week before heading to denver for the beginning of the stretch run.

didn't look like a 5 minute major to me. I didn't see any contact tot he head, just a big violent legal hit. if this was mac delivering this hit I guarantee you that it would have been called a 5 minute major as well.

I think this series has split written all over it. history says so. under hak's tenure und squads do not go on the road and sweep good teams. I can think of only two in his time here(minny '07 and cc in 2010). however, I can name a few more instances of being swept at home by good teams. und 5-4 friday and omaha 4-3 sat. with a side note of hoping for a split with cc and denver.

unfortunately that is the downside of outdoor hockey games like this, is the sight lines are usually very poor.

that's fine, but he never should have committed in the first place if he thought that he might want to play in major juniors. doesn't the old saying go nobody is bigger than the program, well his decision to decommitt hurt this program last year.

until this team puts together a 120 minute weekend against an opponent other than tech or holy cross I can't even fathom a sweep and when does a blais team get swept at home(almost never). split, 3 points at best.

one night of solid play doesn't earn a nickname. let's see if they stick together for both nights this weekend and see if they play deserves one then.

I'm not trying to be an ass or anything but what is the purpose of this outdoor game? these teams have zero history between each other. it is one thing to have a showcase like what will happen in chicago in a few weeks in front of 59,000 or at the Big House bewteen mich and mich state in front of 100,000 or even at lambeau a few years ago. but I just don't get this other than blais is on the other bench.
