	Whoa...let's not over-react here!

I'd agree with you there, dakotadan. I am in Mpls/St Paul where, strangely enough, Sioux women's basketball is never mentioned in the Star Tribune or Pioneer Press. I didn't realize they were 22-0 until I read your post earlier today. You're correct...that is note-worthy. My 'whining' comment wasn't directed at you...was getting tired of Sioux fans saying that NDSU beating Wisconsin wasn't a big deal for whatever reason and thinking it was hardly ESPN highlight worthy. UND's women could go undefeated for five years and ESPN might not notice, but it does deserve more mention on the siouxsports site. For the record, I still remember UND's first women's national championship and watching it on either ESPN or ESPN2. I was as excited seeing that as I was watching the football team win their first title.

I know quite a few who dreamt of being a Fighting Sioux. That's kind of a blanket statement, Gino. "EVERY kid"? beersong, if you didn't find the link remotely interesting, perhaps you can scroll down to another thread and read about whether the #19 jersey in the Sioux jersey auction still smells like Mike Prpich. I found the article interesting, good and bad, so I posted a link to it. Heaven forbid I might think people would like to read it or didn't happen to see it on SI.com already. Remind me of your post here next time I see a thread titled "out-of-town" scores on this board.

I don't know if I can handle staying up that late anymore, though. I think a rematch will be in order soon.

No, NorthDakotaHockey, a "travesty" would be your dart-throwing last Tuesday evening at Hoggsbreath!

I'd hardly think I'm Kessel or Gopher obsessed. It was a hockey article on SI.com, a rag that rarely acknowledges college hockey's existence, so I figured I would post a link to it. If you find the link boring, go read a thread with something meaningful...like who has the fancier jerseys or who the highest-ranked prospect should be this week.

2 series left on the road and 3 at home. Final Five on the road and then West Regional at home. Seems to me...the home schedule is starting to be more important.
 -
It's not like I'm fond of admitting it, sagard.

Agreed, Buckysucks. I remember a few years ago UND was in the midst of a monster home winning streak. I happened to attend the game when the streak was broken and the Sioux team was serenaded with boo birds (particularly from the student section). I seem to recall commenting to one fairly loud fan that he'd just witnessed (forgive me for not remembering the exact number of wins here) 8 or 9 wins in a row and that the team will suffer an occasional loss at home during his four years at UND.

Very well written? As a speech in a junior high English class, maybe. I'll write it again...anything that compares a chant at a hockey game to fascist Italy during WWII is hardly well-written. The writer attended the Mariucci "Classic" game involving Union College. I wonder if the fans would have been as "classy" had he attended the second game of a road sweep by Wisconsin a while back against his beloved Gophers.
 -
Occasional Wisconsinite? How about a certain Austrian named Vanek who was pretty much instrumental in getting the 2nd of the bookend titles? I wonder if this clown ever heard of him.
 -
Who cares about the play-in game? The play-in game winner has not advanced to the Final Five title game since its inception. I think that's an important statistic to note. The Sioux goal should be to finish third...and with home games against St Cloud, UMD, and Michigan Tech coming up, 12 points isn't out of the question. The key, then, will be taking 2 out of 4 against Denver and Colorado College.

Don't shoot the messenger... Gopher Hockey Article I think my favorite part is the comparison of the M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A chant to fascist Italy. Um...ok...

No, I think I originally read your point to be "success" at the Kohl Center. I don't think 4-8 is a great record. However, I think your point was just to have the opportunity to celebrate a win at the Kohl Center. Duly noted.

Cue the Adam Sandler line from "Happy Gilmore"... "AWWWW...COME ON...IS THAT NET REGULATION SIZE OR WHAT?"
 -
Any truth to the rumors that once the helmets were removed after the game, it was discovered that the POI roster included Jesse Bertigliot, Dan Woog, and Steve DeBus?
 -
I'm assuming you're talking hockey here, Cratter. The Sioux are 4-8 in their last six visits to the Kohl Center with wins coming in 2002-03 (sweep), 2001-02 (split) and 1999-00 (split). I'd say Bucky's gotten the best of the Sioux during that time. See SI.com today. One of the major columns talks about NDSU's win being the big event of men's college basketball this past weekend. For those of you whining about how UND's women's team being undefeated isn't that big of a story...even Division I women's basketball is rarely mentioned on SI.com or ESPN Sportscenter unless it involves Tennessee or UConn. If the Sioux women knocked off a dominant Division I program, it still wouldn't make news. Unless it happened to involve the two teams I just mentioned.

	Trying to make me jealous?
 -
You don't get too intimate with your skates, do you, Cratter?
 -
Congratulations Bison fans (not to mention Bison basketball team) on a big, big win today. Way to go!
 -
I wear #19 in broomball and softball, Sioux-cia!
 -
Alas, it is for those of us who cannot skate.

I've seen that face before...last March...Columbus...the Platinum Fox...ah, yes...it's all coming back to me now. In all seriousness, I didn't see any highlights of the game, but it does sound like the Sioux played well. Let's hope that that continues tonite and UND gets an important sweep to put a nice gap between 5th and 6th place.

How many of you guys own broomball shoes or a broomball stick? I could probably borrow a ton of equipment from one of my two teams and we could make it the 4th Annual POI/SS Hockey game immediately followed by the 1st Annual POI/SS Broomball game.
