Next year, I think the Gophers should upgrade and stop playing the Mariucci Classic and start playing the Schwan's Cup! I can see it now... Bloomington Jefferson vs Minnesota Gophers Holy Angels vs Moorhead Even Dougie Woog mentioned last night that in the early-to-mid 1990's, there were some very good opponents brought into the "Dodge Mariucci Classic." As far as I'm concerned, the only meaningful tournaments during the regular season are the Great Lakes Invitational and the Beanpot. That and the "showdown" of Minnesota/Michigan/Wisconsin/Michigan State is worth watching, too, although not a traditional "tournament".

As part of the Sioux/Huskie package, I was forced to purchase two Saturday tickets for the St Cloud/Robert Morris game and four for the Sunday game (games are this weekend). I will gladly sell them for $5 per ticket. Great seats...I just am not in the mood to go see Huskie hockey this weekend.

Yea, that was pretty funny. I'll take Woog and his maroon-colored glasses any day of the week as long as he continues to snub his nose at the PC world and say "Fighting Sioux". It's much better than Channel 9 showing St Cloud games and making sure that everyone refers to the team as UND or North Dakota while doing the politically correct tip-toe dance.

Yea, let's all sit on our hands and grumble because no team has ever come back from an early first period two-goal deficit to win the game. And people had left after the second period? Gimme a frickin' break, people. The hottest place to be in Grand Forks on a Saturday night would be a Sioux/Gopher game and you think the team can't overcome a 4-1 deficit? PCM, I'm disappointed with this piece of pseudo-journalism. Do you mean alterior movites? I've never been a big fan of Doug Woog, but I'll say this much about him: Was it just me or did he seemingly go out of his way this weekend to say the words "Fighting Sioux" as opposed to "UND" or "North Dakota"? I watched the game this weekend with some friends and I'm not the only one who noticed that.

For the record, WPoS, I was more disgusted by Chorney's antics after scoring Saturday than I was by Irmen on Friday. Ugh...down 4-2 with crunch time to play and you scored on a deflected shot that was probably 10' wide of the net when it was deflected in. Put your head down, go back to the bench, and try to make it 4-3.
