  1. Be careful what you wish for. In our section two years ago, a near riot started Gopher fans and Bulldog fans got involved in a broo-ha-ha.
  2. I can vouch for that. Amtrak leaves Mpls/St Paul at around 11 pm and arrives in Williston at 11 am the following morning. On the return trip, it leaves Williston at 6-7 pm, which I'm guessing puts the train in Grand Forks around 10-11 pm. I've taken it many times and it's always been a good experience. In fact, my mom has taken the train probably a dozen times between Mpls and Williston so she can visit family here. A round-trip ticket would be less than $100 guaranteed.
  3. I've offered my apartment couch to anyone who drives down and needs to or wants to stay on the cheap.
  4. Looks like I'm going to have to resort to Ted Ferguson to come up with something original. The Diver Down angle has been covered.
  5. Is that the St Patrick's Day Parade route or siouxguyinstpaul's pre-game pub-crawl?
  6. Look five rows above you starting Thursday night. Hopefully your 6'6" friend isn't blocking the view of section 102 row 11 seat 6 (that be me).
  7. PCM brianvf fargosioux runninwiththedogs MinnesotaNorthStar YaneA Greyeagle (maybe) Up to 6 and maybe 7 including me, not including "friends of posters."
  8. I might suggest replacing "Van Halen" with "Wisconsin". Little Guitars, (Oh) Pretty Woman...what a great album.
  9. Maybe you could find some people willing to drive up to Grand Forks/EGF from Mpls/St Paul and watch the game at Whitey's?
  10. I know the presidents have become a tradition at the Final Five. If someone were to provide me with a helmet and a pair of goggles, I'd gladly dress up as Ted Ferguson, Bud Light Dare Devil and try to attempt my latest stunt: Sitting thru a Gopher hockey game.

LESS FILLING. Now cue the two girls wrestling around in the water fountain.
  12. I should have said print up copies on a color printer...will that still work? That way people won't have to lug around gigantic cardboard signs or flags. Sioux-cia printed up copies of the milk carton design done by someone on siouxsports.com last year and displayed the "Have you seen me? CCHA, Hockey East, CHA" sign at the Frozen Four last year. I heard many chuckles and laughs in my section.
  13. Cardboard? I could just print up some copies on color paper!
  14. No offense, but I've always hated the comparison between the X and REA. REA's compacted seats and no room for feet make me long for the Final Five. Cherry wood be damned. The swimcap idea is absolutely hilarious. I just may bust one of those out on Saturday.
  15. Or maybe for more dramatic effect?
  16. I promise not to wear any University of Maine gear, Greyeagle.
  17. Still looking for a few more for-sures...I think I count 5 regular posters thus far in addition to me: PCM brianvf fargosioux runninwiththedogs MinnesotaNorthStar I'm also expecting that NorthDakotaHockey won't be able to turn this down.
  18. See above post and insert this: Leave Bismarck at 5:00 am and meet at BWW at 8:00 am in Fargo. Seriously, I venture out to west of Dickinson every now and then and am amazed that Sioux hockey fans exist out there too. In fact, during the 2001 Final Five, a group of guys sitting behind me happened to mention "Dickinson" and I was shocked to discover they were indeed from there. One of them was the head honcho at Applebee's out there. Way to support the team...good Sioux hockey fans just don't live in Fargo or Grand Forks.
  19. I have a better idea. Meet at 8:00 am at BWW, decide who has the biggest vehicle, each pay about $10 for gas (both ways), and drive to the Xcel Energy Center 3.5 hours east. Any Sioux fans who need a place to camp out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night (or any combination of those, depending on your road-trip needs) are more than welcome to do so at my place. The more Sioux fans at the X, the better.
  20. I can't control myself, jloos. BWW...beer, wings, sports, chicks. Giggity giggity...all right.
  21. That's it, I'm never going to another hockey game again! From now on, it's NBA all the way where I can relate to multi-millionaire stars with rap sheets and attitudes like Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, and Ron Artest. Or maybe major league baseball, where I can enjoy a game watching steroid-ridden freaks like Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds obliterate home run records while playing in ballparks the size of my local team's softball field. And I just can't wait to see the next Terrell Owens meltdown in the NFL! Oh the drama! On second thought, I'll see you at the X on Thursday for some hockey.
  22. Good grief. Better ideas? Yea, how about some green and white zebra striped Zubas along with some leg warmers and a BUM sweatshirt.
  23. I thought that section 118 was for the hang around the fort Latino hockey fans?
