  1. In addition, would someone please explain to me the difference in what's offensive about UL-M's now former football helmet vs the Florida State helmet which is obviously not offensive? vs this: I'm stumped.
  2. Funny you should mention UL-M, PCM. Check out some of their new logos and wordmarks. Looks like it has all the requirements for politically-correct watered-down meaningless symbol, although with recent events in the world, I'm not sure having 'war' in the nickname is in good taste.
  3. I sense a "thank you skippy" coming up shortly.
  4. Given the serious eye injuries suffered by players in the past few years, maybe young kids are taking notice. I still remember the sickening feeling in my throat when Steve Yzerman took a puck to the eye in the 2004 playoffs. Yzerman to Wear Visor I think a key point of this article was the following:
  5. Truer words have never been spoken! Just kiddin', Yttrium. Hope we can run into each other this upcoming season. Have a great holiday weekend!

Your 1982 suit or the one you just bought last week at Silverman's?

Is that Gino Gasparini on the right...or is it PCM?
  8. I think you'll see plenty of kids in the not-too-distant future wearing eye protection because of younger stars like Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin already doing so. It's one thing for the fringe players to wear a visor, cage, or full shield, but once top players wear them, it'll become 'the thing to do.' Kinda like ballet tights in the NBA.

    Did someone just say 'Kajagoogoo'?

That's right Diggler. Now go put your 'zubaz' pants in the pile marked "rummage sale" and have a great holiday weekend!

PCM, I'm more disturbed than anything by the fact that you even KNOW who Chris Brown is and came across these photos. You ARE the pseudo-journalist extraordinaire!
  12. Hey mikejm, don't I deserve a little kudos for being the first person on this thread to bust out the "Alexander Daigle" comparison?
  13. This thread has gotten a bit off-topic, but I think the comparisons from rival fans will always be there, much like the Vanek vs Parise who's better discussions. Both Toews and Kessel are obviously very talented and I agree with other posters, no one will know until 4-5 years from now who was the better selection. For every Steve Yzerman picked, there are a dozen Patrick Stefans or Alexander Daigles.
  14. I managed to post my comments without taking a verbal cheap-shot at you, ATLSiouxPhan. Thanks for using the same professional courtesy with me.
  15. My apologies, ATLSiouxPhan, I didn't know someone was holding a gun to your head forcing you to read this thread.
  16. LOL...did you happen to read the story BELOW those comments? The ones related to Troy Riddle and his brother being arrested for felony assault?
  17. Correct...sometimes they go #1 (Brian Lawton). The draft isn't an exact science.
  18. Personally, I'd like to see PK come back for one more year for the sole purpose of watching him play at Wisconsin one more time. If he thinks those fans were nasty to him LAST YEAR...
  19. Not silly at all. I hate Kessel's cockiness as much as I hated Sean Hill's cheap-shots in the late 1980's/early 1990's (Wisconsin) and as much as I can't stand how "Diver Down" Robbie Earl (also Wisconsin) plays the game. While ESPN touted his 'miracle' goal against Maine, that bush league stunt made me want to puke.
  20. The answer to your question is 'no', we wouldn't treat him any differently. In fact, we'll hate him just as much when he's a Bruin. On the plus side, it'll be fun to watch the opposition reaction when he does the ear-cupping move after scoring a goal in Montreal.
  21. Was that your batting practice fastball?
  22. Of course I do, Greyeagle. If I didn't, I'd be a Gopher fan!
  23. No can do, dagies. I was there for the comeback against NMU and it was REAL. Well, I was at the 2002 Frozen Four title game, too, but that was obviously an implanted memory in my brain.
  24. OK, it's totally bugging me...does anyone else remember the NMU game that I am talking about?
  25. Such valuable insight and a well-thought out comment there TRIOUXPER. Who hacked into your account? Just teasin'. I totally agree with you. Spirko is, was, and always will be welcome as a Fighting Sioux and he has nothing to apologize for for leaving to go back to his home country.
