  1. Anything in Dickinson ND? I'm back home visiting the 'rents and would prefer watching te game somewhere else in HD...
  2. Here's some information for you: Ohio State drew approximately 2,000 fans for their three-game series with Ferris State. Not per game, for the entire weekend! It's probably a GOOD thing that the Buckeyes used their practice rink. Having attended the 2005 Frozen Four, I can honestly tell you that Joe Six Pack in Columbus had NO CLUE that the men's ice hockey tournament was in town...but he could tell you the exact second that OSU spring football practice started that weekend.
  3. That would be a quick conversation! Don: OMG...Kim's butt is HUGE! Dave: Shut up Don. I'm drawing up my lines.
  4. Hey UNDfaninMICH, Pick a venue and time and have some folks meet you there. Siouxman and Mrs Siouxman apparently have lots of time on their hands...LOL.
  5. Oh please. 1/3 of the Irish crowd was Notre Dame fans...1/2 of the Michigan crowd was wearing maize and blue. Size of an arena DOES matter and YOU know that as well. 3,500 in a small barn that seats 3,600 is a great hockey environment. 3,500 in an arena that seats 17,500 is about as lively as a 4:00 pm Saturday afternoon Catholic mass.
  6. OSU drew 5700 and change and 6700 and change at Value City Arena against Notre Dame and Michigan this year. That's a 1/3 full barn. Sleeping giant? OSU should smarten up and improve their own on-campus ice arena rather than force its hockey team to play in VCA.
  7. Sent you a text with photo attached. I will have the newest picture available in about a week.
  8. You can't say that on the air!
  9. Maybe we need to start the brunch at 10am...I hogged (pun not intended) the microphone enough myself but I left out plenty of other good stories...
  10. Tom isn't a sports guy at all and wouldn't know the Final Five was in town unless I told him. He's very much an introvert, which is unusual for a bar owner. Trust me, he means well and enjoys our group. His wife is Jossie, the pony-tailed blonde who does the dirty work. Tom takes care of the books...she slogs it out working with the grunts. Jossie did tell me that she sincerely appreciates our group coming in year after year. Next year, I'll make sure either Tom or Jossie grab the mike and says a few words. The shirts, while my idea, got done because of Jossie's leg-work. Without her, those very cool mementos of the brunch wouldn't have happened. Which reminds me, I couldn't afford to buy 70-100 shirts and give them away, but I do hope everyone took home something memorable from the brunch and gave out as many shirts as I could. If you did NOT get one and would like one, please send me a PM and I will see what I can do to get you one. Again, If you have any thoughts on making the 2014 brunch even better, feel free to pass along your ideas and thoughts. I already can't wait...
  11. We took a photo in 2011 too under the sign. Check your PM's.
  12. It's a little like herding cats at the Hogg sometimes...I will have the group photo available in about a week. Cratter, are you telling me there are forums on this site OTHER than hockey?
  13. I guess you have to live in Mpls/St Paul to understand that Target Center and Xcel Energy Center may as well be Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park. An event in Minneapolis typically does nothing for St Paul...and vice versa.
  14. No-can-do. God's gotta focus on the task at-hand, beating Niagara and then the Yale/Minny winner.
  15. I assume you mean 'choked,' but regardless, if you think NoDak could have played any better with their M*A*S*H unit, you're wrong.
  16. Usually I pray for stuff like a cure for cancer, an end to world hunger, and no nukes in North Korea...but God's got bigger fish to fry this Friday, right?
  17. You can't spell 'New Hampshire will never win the ultimate prize in college hockey' without U-M-I-L-E.
  18. I left the friendly confines of the TC's for a spring break visit to the parents' house in SW ND. Sitting at a truck stop just outside Mandan right now but should be able to swing by the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Fairfield on Friday am on the way back home. If nothing else, I'll spot mom $5 and tell her to drop it in the 'special intentions' box at St Bernard's in Belfield.
  19. Nice to see you back in the bigs, Taylor. How's your wife and my kids. LOL!
  20. I should have stated same region years. That would make 2006 a 'yes'.
  21. No time to fact-check but I would bet a UND/Denver or Minny match-up has happened every year since 2005.
  22. 2005 was stuck in my memory bank too. UND vs Denver or Minn happening all too often since the WCHA Invitational in Columbus.
  23. When is the last time you saw a potential BC vs BU or BC vs UNH match-up in a regional final? But North Dakota vs Denver or North Dakota vs Minnesota? You can take that one to the bank almost every year.
  24. I wasn't saying Bemidji State is a cupcake...just pointing out a fact. Yes, it's tough to do, especially in the WCHA.
