Color request and moniker yay or nay, please. I will need to keep track. Thank you.

Maroon or gold actually ARE an option (paging sagard and GFG)...

With permission from jimdahl, I am pleased to announce that I am putting together an order of SiouxSports.com fleece hats or toques as they say up north. My broomball team did some of these a few years ago (using the same brand - the Port Authority C900) and I can honestly tell you, this is the best winter hat I have ever worn. I have run this idea by several posters here already and have generated enough 'buzz' to post this and see if any others are interested in purchasing as well. http://www.sanmar.co...etic Gold&top=Y This posting appears in the Men's Hockey section because this is where 99.9% of my posts are. I would assume black, green, and grey would be the most popular colors selected, but others are available as well. The more hats are purchased and embroidered, the cheaper the cost per hat. I'm in no hurry to place an order as spring is upon us, but would like to have this put together by August/September in order to get ready for next fall. I have a volunteer who would help distribute hats in the Grand Forks area or you can pick up your hat directly from me at the 2014 Final Five brunch. If you live in the Twin Cities area, we can make other arrangements as well. Cost per hat (assuming 48 purchased) will be approximately $13.00. Less than that, it's a couple of bucks more. More than that, it might be even cheaper. The SiouxSports.com logo would go on front of the hat and your moniker, if you wish, can be put on the back or side of the hat for an additional $7.50. Moniker is NOT required. You won't find a better deal on a Sioux winter hat at The Ralph and this will no doubt be a great conversation piece. Heck, it might even top the Hoggsbreath t-shirt some of you have in Fighting Sioux colors! In case you are wondering, I am NOT spinning a profit on these in any way, shape, or form. Your cost will be actual cost. I have put together hundreds of softball and broomball orders for my teams in the past 20 years and have a good working relationship with a vendor in Fargo, ND. This will be a quality product, I guarantee it. I'm doing this because I'm a fan and have made many, many friends over the years here on siouxsports.com. A few folks asked me about getting this same hat with the green Hogg on it...if I can get a total of 6 people to order one of those, I can also use that bit of embroidery since the artwork has already been done before. Hopefully, some sample pics will be up shortly...for now, simply respond to the thread if you're interested, # of hats, color, moniker on the back if you want, etc. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Don't miss out and wish you had ordered one when you see YaneA, Cratter, NorthDakotaHockey, Wilbur, LeftyZL, Goon, and me all wearing these at Target Center next March. You'll be kicking yourself!

I scored 13 goals in 8 games of broomball this year...can I get a Hobey Baker trophy too?
-
That's exactly what I saw too. I was wondering what game some other posters here were watching. Yale looked like a MUCH quicker team.

LOL...yea, that Brock Nelson guy would have worked out quite nicely too.
-
That's like lining up Tim Duncan vs Kobe Bryant and saying 'our best player is better than your best player.' Instead, I would go line by line and look at it head-to-head that way. No question that that Agostino would have filled in quite nicely on a line with Danny Kristo and solved a lot of UND's problems this season.
-
Exactly. Hard for a Forbert, Bjugstad, or Haula to focus on a game when there's an NHL contract sitting in the locker room just waiting for a signature the moment the team is eliminated.

Like I always say, hard work beats skill when skill doesn't work hard. OK, maybe I heard that somewhere else...

A loud crowd is impressive at Yost...Munn...Mariucci...WIsconsin...BU...BC...Maine...and other places too. Yes, UND's crowd is impressive, but it's not the only loud building around. The two most impressive crowds I can remember, Sioux or not? 1998 and Michigan's fans at Yost and the 2012 WCHA semi-final against Minnesota at the X. Nothing better than seeing a sea of green in St Paul. Fire Bob Motzko!

Really? Because from everything I've seen, Kenny Agostino would be nothing short of a first-liner if he was wearing a Sioux uniform. I just have to shake my head sometimes...some fans look at other teams like Yale and St Cloud State and just figure that their best players would be fifth liners at UND...I don't get it.

I would suspect, at the very least, that most every poster on this board assumed that North Dakota matched and over-matched Yale in every position possible prior to the game a week or so ago too. You never know until you hit the ice!

I've yet to meet a fan who had a direct impact on an NCAA tournament or championship game. I think the fan aspect is a bit over-rated. Ask one of the Yale kids what his goal is and the reply is likely to be 'to win an NCAA title.' Ask a Minnesota or North Dakota kid what his goal is and the likely answer is 'to make the NHL.' That's my two cents.

So a team that got man-handled at home by SCSU in January would have given Quinnipiac a better game? The same Quinnipiac team that's outscored Yale 13-3 in three meetings this season? Hmnnn....maybe, I guess...

You completely missed my sarcastic post. I've followed college hockey for over 25 years...my comments were meant in complete jest. As for the two games you referenced, the Yale/BC game and the BU/Miami game...yea, I know...I watched 'em both. And I agree with everything you wrote in your second paragraph. I guess you have missed most of my comments on this subject on this thread. We're on the same team.

If you haven't heard of sarcasm, you must not follow siouxsports.com much. BC led Yale 2-1 after 1 period and held a 6-2 lead in the 2nd before two late goals got Yale within 2 again at 6-4. BC promptly scored 3 straight in the 3rd to open up a 9-4 lead. Yale scored 3 straight goals of their own starting at about 13:00 into the 3rd period and ending with about 1:30 left in the game to make the final 9-7. I don't think BC was really 'battled' the way you felt they were.

Whatever. We're North Dakota. We have the best fans and the grandest arena ever. I've never even heard of schools like Union, Yale, or Quinnipiac until two weeks ago. We're SUPPOSED to win a title every other year, at least. Anything less is a total failure. I'd rather go thru 19 years of watching a totally sucky team followed by 1 championship season than have a shot at being a national champion and risk disappointment for 10 years straight. Who's with me?

At one point in the 3rd period in 5 on 5 play, QU controlled the puck and the zone for about 50 seconds. It was like watching North Dakota take on the Bismarck Demon Squirt C team on that shift. Hockey is evolving...teams should take note. Had UND been in that game against Quinnipiac, I think the score would have been exactly the same. Go Yale!

If you choose A, get set for years of sagging attendance, lackluster community and fan support, loss of corporate sponsorship money, etc. It'd be like old REA circa 1990-1995.

Posted about 22 hours ago... http://bangordailyne...d-in-maine-job/ “At this point, I’d be interested in every job. I want to continue coaching and I would be foolish to close a door on anything," said the 59-year-old Gwozdecky, who posted a 443-267-64 record at Denver and has won at least 20 games in each of the last 12 seasons Hello...Alaska-Anchorage...give the Gwoz a call!

I thought Nick was playing for Florida?

I think lots of people were. I've been touting UMass-Lowell for several weeks now and am amazed at how Yale absolutely took it to the River Hawks yesterday. That was a 3-2 OT final...but the Bulldogs absolutely dominated that game. Having watched Yale three times now and knowing that Quinnipiac smoked them three times this year already, I had a feeling some eyes would be opened when the Bobcats took the ice last night. I liked the Yale captain's comment after the game about being 'honored' to represent his school in the NCAA title game. Some UND fans can continue to be bitter, but I'll be pulling for Yale on Saturday night. I don't know why...but they remind me of the 1997 Sioux...the team that nobody expected to be in the championship game.

Great post. What was it again? Sorry, I seem to get distracted everytime I see 'Cratter' pop up on the screen.
