That Mount St Mary's game last night is the reason why watching the conference tournaments is so much fun. They were blown out by Robert Morris twice this season but made a run to the tournament championship to play the Colonials, where they absolutely throttled them in front of their own crowd. I think RM was expecting a conference tournament coronation - instead, they got a whoopin'.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the team with the record of 24-6, should they make it 25-6, couldn't care less about a loss to UND earlier this season.
Respectfully disagree. Kinda like saying you made the MLB playoffs after losing the Wild-Card game. Unless you're in the bracket of 64, you're not really 'in.'
Miami in 3
North Dakota sweeps
Nebraska-Omaha sweeps
Western Michigan in 3
It'll be CCHA 2, WCHA 1, and hybrid (that'd be UNO) 1 at the Target Center next weekend.
You're a fountain of information, Smoggy! Thanks for the insight...interesting info there. Roseau conveniently doesn't list the time-frame of 1994-1997 on its web site. Hmnnnn...
Similar story out of Mankato on Saturday...all the Mavericks had to do to earn a share of their first-ever MacNaughton Cup was defeat Michigan Tech. Alas, the best they could do was tie, 1-1, so Ferris State won the cup outright.
Goon...Oxbow6...and me...at a Miley concert? A traditional twerking of sticks?
Good heavens I didn't just type that...don't hit "post"...don't hit "post"...
Interesting theory, considering that 1989 was Warroad's last one-tier tournament appearance ever. Roseau went to state in 1990 and 1991, followed by Moorhead in 1992 and 1993.
Every fan base has its idiots. I berated a fellow Sioux fan celebrating his 21st birthday as well as his mommy a few years ago at the final five - an absolute sloppy drunken mess - the both of them. Gopher and Huskie fans alike in my section applauded me when I called them out. Pretty funny.
Congratulations to St Cloud on the league regular season title.
Great link, thanks again.
Aneta win the title in 1935...I remember McVille was in the tournament a number of years ago. It's a shame all the co-ops that have popped up and the schools that have closed over the decades. I think Region 8 consisted of four districts with 5-6 teams in it...those were the good old days...
