If Matty Ryan, a legitimate Heisman candidate, and the #2-ranked team in the country (at the time) can't get the Boston area excited about college football, nothing can. Heads should roll at UMass for thinking that 30-40,000 people would turn out to see UMass-BC football head-to-head.

UMass thought they could be the state school in football - obviously they over-estimated their importance in the already sports jam-packed northeast, especially in Celtics/Red Sox/Patriots territory. What an absolute disaster...playing in Gilette Stadium in front of basically family and friends. EPIC FBS FAIL!

I can't remember which TV station ran a sports bit on UNO hockey and Dean Blais the other night, but it discussed the two Eden Prairie recruits heading to Omaha next season. Lots of comments about Dean Blais about his coaching style and what he's doing to make the Mavericks a top-notch program. Pretty interesting report - I swear, Dean Blais could probably talk a Twin Cities recruit into coming to play for him in Siberia.

True 'dat! It's absolutely absurd that the girls are wasting their time in front of 500-2,000 fans in the Xcel Energy Center. Common sense would tell you that that tournament would have more success and be a lot more "alive" in a smaller venue. But, good old Minnesota..."well if the boys have it there, the girls have to have it there too..."
