If you want to call Miami (OH) an FBS team, sure, you're technically correct. However, the Redhawks' last win was October 27, 2012. They lost their final 4 games that season, 12 games last season, and are now 0-1 this season. That's a 17 game losing streak...ouch. Doesn't that Ben Roethlisberger guy still have a year of eligibility left? He might be able to help a bit...

Boy, for a guy who has accused me of putting words in your mouth, you sure do the same without so much as a second thought. Nothing is absolute, however, if academics played such a big part of the recruitment of college football players, schools wouldn't need black-out games, chrome helmets, and 75 different uniform combinations in order to lure star recruits, would they?

I doubt whether the average potential football recruit or football fan watching GameDay is thinking "yea, they're 3-time FCS champions, but how is their aerospace program?"

South Carolina got destroyed at home by A&M last week and Texas was AWFUL at home yesterday. Sorry, but getting blown out in front of your own crowd by BYU doesn't get you a GameDay ticket for the following weekend. Had SC beaten the Aggies, ESPN GD would be at that game, no doubt.

I wasn't lobbying for a return-trip to Fargo next weekend but the slate of games you suggested was pretty "blah" despite the presence of a few rivalries and/or big name programs. Some aren't even that - Illinois vs Washington? Are you kidding?

South Carolina was waxed by A&M last weekend...Iowa State is 0-2...Texas was absolutely hammered at home today by BYU... Purdue lost to Central Michigan today...Boston College lost to Pitt today...kinda takes some of the luster off of those big games next weekend.

I'll second that motion, especially since Minnesota has used the "brick by brick" schtick for a a couple of seasons now. And their stadium actually has plenty of bricks in it, so it makes sense.
