Is there any insight on what names they are looking for? Are they looking for an animal (that kill Bisons) a thing (I like Soo). I am sure any kind of reference to people are out. Oh and i guess Flickertails are out too.....Good!! Here is one...UND Varmints. Remember the GF Varmints of the mid 90's. I still have my game program i liked the name and logo....just a thought.

Just a side question: Is there anything per the NCAA agreement that requires UND to get a new nickname by a certain date?

Why are you so happy they didn't listen to the people of the Standing Rock. This proves there is NO democracy on that reservation and it will come back at the council big time. At least if they let the people vote and they voted NO then that is a decision everyone can understand. No one can understand this decision, unless they are going to ask the board to do nothing until a vote of the tribe is final.

Scenario time: The SBoHE lets the SR vote, they approve the name. Now where does this 30 year contract by the Board fit in. Do they ask each tribal council how long they would approve the name and give choices like 10, 20 or 30 years? Or IMO a lifetime approval. The NCAA required approval nothing more but if they rule against the name the name is automatically gone no questions asked.

2 titles in 4 years and almost 3 titles in 5 years (OT loss to BC) compared to zero titles since Hak took over.

They need to come out and shoot not dink around passing but shoot and hope they get a goal. We need 3 goals in 20 minutes...4 to win.

1004 signatures out of 1900 OMG!! I don't think the SBoHE dare to mess with this. They would get so much crap if they interfered with this. We could see an Indian war against the board and an outcry by everyone involved with UND from students and facilty to alumni and fans. Tom Douple take note on this..the Sioux nickname is about to get a second blessing and there is nothing RHHIT can do about it.

I would either stick with the Interstate or take alternate routes towards the north like through Grand Forks or Mayville. Roads south of Fargo aren't great and there are problems around Harwood around I-29 as the water is getting close to the road. 511 will keep you updated on roads. Drive safe.

12,000 Bison fans would have left 594 KU fans and or fans of other teams....KU I would think brings more fans than that.
