UND or NDSU can win a game in the dance. Anybody can beat anyone. #16's are now 0-102 going into today's games. #15 Robert Morris almost beat Villinova!!! If UND can get a team like Rich Glas had in the 90's we can hopefully raise some eyebrows and sneak a first round win. As for Sioux hockey, i think UND, Grand Forks, and North Dakota got a lot of publicity during the Olympics due to 2 former Sioux players on the men's side and the Lamaroux sisters on the women's side. The Olympics were broadcast around the world...thats right the WORLD!!!! You think anyone who plays hockey in ND doesn't have that dream of either winning a medal, playing in the pros or winning a national title? What do people who play Class B basketball think of? Am I good enough to play for UND or NDSU, and not be an Olmpian or win a national title? As for going pro in basketball from North Dakota very slim chance. IMO hockey is king in ND!

I see that #16 seeds are 0-100 against a #1 team....wouldn't it be awesome to have UND be the first to defeat a #1 seed. I would like to see UND in the Summit but only on the NCAA timeline NOT the SBoHE timeline.

Whats the biggest difference between the Rich Glas Elite Eight teams of the early 90's and the Sioux teams of late? Is it offense, defense, coaching what is it.

I don't know what has more drama the Sioux nickname or the NDSU money mess. I got my popcorn.

I know many Bison fans want his head on a stick but from what he has done for NDSU I say Hansen is the best choice for president. He is turning that school into an honest, less contraversal school unlike the mess that Chapman has gotten the school into. Plus helping a fellow state institution get into the same conference that takes a lot of balls. Good for you President Hansen.

But will the SBoHE care. Its a tough call which way they will swing.

I was at this game with my son, we sat on the opposite side of the benches, and I didn't see anything, unless it happened at the last minute of the game when we were leaving. The Bison student section is behind the NDSU bench and that place was dead there were more Gen. Admission people (me included) than reserved people. IUPUI hurt NDSU worse...in the final score.

I remember on ESPN's Outside The Lines about Indian nicknames. They had some jackass white guy saying names are offensive on the other part of the screen was a Seminole Indian, and he said "Its nice to see white people telling Natives what are offensive". And isn't that the truth. How many of these PC idiots are non-natives, and how many pro-nickname supporters are natives. His quote sums it up perfectly.

I would say for a D1 team in an auto-bid conference they have one of the worst bball facilites.

Why doesn't he travel to the high schools on the rez and tell the natives themselves that they should have to change their Indian nicknames, and see what kind of a responce he gets to that.

I just got back from taking my 8 year old son to his first bball game at the BSA. What a dump!!! Its dark, the PA system sucks bad. It needs to be renivated or destroyed. NDSU should just move their games into the Fargodome for good. UND shouldn't have to lower themselves to play in a facility that reminds me of a garage.

Plus we are not playoff eligible until 2012-13 anyways. I say let the timeline happen and maybe the SR will get their ducks in order and we can somehow save the name and get into the Summit later.

Thats what I paid. Mine takes effect March 11th and seems like this march is supposed to be normal to below normal temps so a thaw isn't going to be until April.

According to Fargo Mayor Dennis Walaker a diversion won't be completed for 10 years. This is our 3rd 500 year flood in 13 years. How many times do we have to do this in the next 10 years.

What we need for 2010 is a hot (100 degree plus) summer to dry up the soil going into next fall.

There is a lot more water in the snow in NE South Dakota than last year and this is what is going to be a big factor along with the temps which for March is going to be average to below average. But all we need is a big blizzard or ice storm to sink Fargo.

I hate to look further but 10% of 43ft. WOW that is 2 ft lower than the highest dike in Fargo the VA dike is at 45ft, thats my saftey net. They built a new floodwall down the street from the VA but that protects 38-40. If they predict 41-45ft i am on my way to Grand Forks. I know they are counting on the University and high school kids again but people are going to get sick of this every year.

The NWS predicts a flood that could be worse than last year in Fargo and most of the southern valley. There is a 32% chance of the Red cresting at 40ft where that number was at 2% at this time last year and Fargo had the highest crest ever. I hope people are prepared, get your flood insurance in order it takes 30 days to take effect (mine starts on March 11th). As someone who went through the 1997 flood in Grand Forks I am prepared and ready and have an evac plan if needed.
