My kids watched the UND/NDSU Football America video, and they asked me questions about how big the game was, and the Nickel Trophy. I think if it was on display they could see it. Its too bad only us older people (Not that I'm old 34) know what that game really meant, and the hype for that week.

That is the million dollar question. We shouldn't have stopped playing NDSU in other sports. RT and Kupchella were stupid people and they should be blamed for that part.

Maybe Dale took to to SIU with him. But on a serious note these trophies should be on display either at GF or in Bismarck. Plus they could have the Dakota Marker there too. We should appreciate all our sports history.

Where is the Nickel is it on public display at UND?? I am sure my kids would love to see it. Also is the nickel with the Sitting Bull Trophy?

I would have no problem in supporting the Spirit Lake Sioux Nation. They have been at the nickname's side this whole time. Now the Standing Rock thats a place I will NEVER go. I have nothing against the people (its too bad they were not allowed to vote) but to the tribal council who didn't give their people a chance to be heard thats where my problem lies. They are corrupt and that is reason enough for me to never thank them.

You can bring up items but have it pertain to the thread. Yes our regular season attendance is poor but we are talking about the poor attendance at the dome for playoffs. Plus our 1st year of eligibility for playoffs is 2012.

Exactly....playoffs vs playoff eligibility 2 years away. First home playoff game since Bill Clinton was first elected in the White House vs a team that won a national title its first year in its building.

Fargodome 64 % filled. REA 100.8% filled. If UND can find a way to get fans to watch indoor hockey against Notre Dame, then NDSU should have found ways to get fans to watch indoor playoff football against RMU. Weather was perfect plus its in a dome. Holiday weekend meant a lot of tickets that should have opened up for the average person. 19,000 strong.. only during the regular season I guess. New NDSU motto: FCS playoffs.......12,000 strong will you be there.....probably not.

What was capacity at Dakotah Field? Wow. Big turnaround from the 1988 playoffs to 1989 and beyond. What happened?

I don't care what conference we are in as long as they renew the UND-NDSU rivalry. Iowa plays Iowa State every year and they are in separate conferences, same with Florida-Florida St.

Like passing new laws like banning texting while driving. Uping the speeding fines in the state. Lowering our taxes. Getting a damn diversion built in Fargo. Why can't they leave sports to the schools unless they lobby to get a pro team here.

I couldn't imagine when we start Big Sky play we have 2 FBS games since we will have 8 conference games, and 3 OOC games. 1 FBS team is plenty.

NDSU proves that having a losing season back to back is very rare up here. And they turned it around from their dismal 2009 performance to the playoffs. Good luck NDSU.

This team looks like a totally different team from last season. I am shocked we actually won 3 games. This team better get an overhaul before September or we will see a repeat performance.

True. I went to games at Memorial Stadium growing up and saw people taking a swig from the flask. That didn't bother me but the cigar smoke did.
