  1. With Lakesbison leading the NDSU to the WAC chant again.
  2. What is the real money maker is it really concerts?? I doubt it. Its football. They need to UND up the Alerus more than they have done. Or move back to Memorial Stadium.
  3. Lets frame that quote and replay this in a couple years when NDSU is banging on the BSC door again. I looked at posts on AGS.com from 2005 and how they wanted out of the GWFC and into the BSC, and when they admitted UNC...OMG you would have thought the world was ending.
  4. How about their reaction if St. Cloud and Omaha and other former NCC teams start joining the Summit? I think they will start begging UND to let them into the Big Sky and dump SDSU like a bad rabbit, I mean habbit.
  5. Really a long way from campus?? Its on 19th Ave. not Harwood. The band in the parking lot is a good idea also the Alerus is NOT UND friendly. Maybe the nickname has something to do with it but the only UND I see on it is the helmet on the outside the banners and Fighting Sioux in the endzone on the inside. How about painting it green and white, or having a big UND helmet on the outside where people walk through to get in. The Ralph is a lot more UND than the Alerus in many ways.
  6. YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. The last time UND had back to back losses was 1985-86. That was the last season for Pat Behrns and the beginning of the Roger Thomas era. So historically UND bounces back from a losing season. 2002 (5-6) 2003 (12-2 lost national title game). I agree the Alerus needs a fun environment. I was there for the Potato Bowl game. The parade was fun downtown (kids loved it!) and the tailgating at game looked great a lot of businesses giving away free food and it was fun. Does anyone think maybe the lack of the campus atmosphere has something to do with attendance? Location of the Alerus compared to Memorial Stadium. At least the Fargodome is near the NDSU campus, the Alerus is in the middle of nothing.
  8. I would have thought after the loss to USD, the Gophs would stop playing the Dakotas.
  9. Just look at the attendance of Sioux hockey when we aren't winning back in the old Ralph. Crowds were small (except Minnesota). But you win a national title or even play for a national title and fans flock to the arena.
  10. They should stick to teams like Trinity Bible College. They are what 0-100?
  11. Exactly. Almost 11,000 fans showed up in 2008 against Texas A&M-Kingsville, in our first year in D1 now tack on Montana, a conference title, and a bid in the playoffs and you will have a lot of people in the Alerus, not empty blue seats in the Fargodome come playoff time like it has been every year since they built the dome.
  12. That is the big thing right now. We were used to play every game for a chance at a national title, then it was so sweet winning it in 2001 you want another one then we went D1 and have to sit on the playoff sidelines for 4 years with still another long year to go we are so pumped, so anxious, for the 2012 schedule we just want to leap frog over 2011 and get into the BSC, and play for a national title.
  13. Wait til Montana comes to the Alerus. It will be a sellout. Its like getting a FBS team to come to Grand Forks. I hope it will be on FCS, as the country will be watching this one.
  14. 2 years from now that number will be exactly 15,000.
  15. 13,500 is what wikipedia and Aleruscenter.com has http://www.aleruscenter.com/?page=building SEATING Full Arena Set - 21,000 Half Arena Set - 11,000 Theater Set - 4,600 Football - 13,500 Basketball - 9,500 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alerus_Center Capacity Concerts (full-house set): 21,000 Concerts (half-house set): 11,000 Theater: 4,600 Football: 13,500 Basketball: 9,500
  16. I think its more the % capacity than numbers. These numbers at Memorial Stadium have a 10,000 capacity compared to what 13,500 at the Alerus. The bigger the capacity % the more it looks full. 2010 60.4% full 2000 86.6 % full
  17. With just 22 days until the retirement. Don't get your hopes up. Its gone. In 2011-2012 I also see us as the University of North Dakota. But for 2012 when we become the newest Big Sky member and have a shot at playoffs we wil have a new identity. If we wait longer they will pick a name out of desperation and it will not a be a good one.
  18. 2008-first year in the FCS new teams 2009,2010 probably 2011...nothing to play for but a GWFC title. Wait until 2012 to talk attendance woes.
  19. One has a cross and the Cleveland Indians logo on it. I wonder what they mean?
  20. UND has had a history of bouncing back after a losing season. 1989 we went from 3-7-1 to 7-3 in 1990. 2002 5-6 to 12-2 in 2003. So lets gets on track and have a good 2011 then in 2012 lets make a great first impression in the BSC and make the playoffs!!!
  21. Plus what guarantee do we have that we get into the MVFC and UNO doesn't. Since they are location friendly.
  22. That is what everyone needs to realize!! I was on the blame USD bandwagon until I read how she put together this deal. She is the real villain and USD was caught in the middle. I do hope our teams meet up in the near future.
  23. I thought the point of a dome was to have night games. If its at 1 why the hell did we move out of Memorial Stadium. What happened to 6 or 7pm games.
