Maybe fans are not into football or even basketball until 2012. I mean what is there to play for a GWFC title? To me that doesn't scream excitement, neither does paying money to see NE Okalahoma St, or Sioux Falls or Montana Western. That Cal Poly game was a scheduling nightmare. 4pm game on Halloween so when you get done with the game and got your little one home it would have been 7:30-8:00 how much candy can you get after that time frame. I know people will support our team more when we are playoff eligible, but if we see a schedule like this in 2012 and beyond there will a big fallout of fans especially when D2 and NAIA games could hurt us in a playoff race (2010 Montana as prime example).

Correction we would love to see the 52-7 drubbings of the Northwestern St (LA), or Idaho St, or NDSU, we are done with NAIA and D2 teams. We left D2 for a reason to play with the big boys.

There are 125 other FCS teams and I bet there is a way to get 3 to come up here. If $$$ is a problem then announce it. Just say due to financial problems we have to schedule 3 non-D1 teams, that way people will understand a lot more, until then it looks like Faison was just lazy in scheduling. 2012 should be a breeze in scheduling 8 conference games 1 FBS game, Central Arkansas, 1 FCS team....you have how many BSC teams to choose from, plus South Dakota or NDSU or whoever. Hell I could schedule that. I just think if $$$$ is a problem while scheduling....good luck getting $$$ from a damn near empty AC.

What about dropping baseball and bring back wrestling. Title IX killed that sport for us but we could bring it back.

Doesn't make UND an attractive school for recruits or even fans if the players can't make a damn free throw.

I was born and raised on the north side of GF and there was a rivalry. Everything has to be built on the south side, restaurants, mall, and they wanted the AC built on the south side what was on the north side.....UND. So they comprimised as best as they could and put it towards the center along the interstate. Its like Fargo everything has to be built south when on the northside there are so many empty buildings but lets build south, south, south.

I saw them in the Hyslop(in the late 80's-early 90's) so the Betty would be good for it unless the Alerus does end up selling more seats. My parents never voted for the Alerus simply because it wasn't needed. Sioux football---Memorial Stadium, concerts Hyslop, Chester Fritz. Or even Memorial Stadium could have had an outdoor concert that would have been fun. Now you have the REA and of course the Alerus is NOT going to make money. But people didn't know the REA would've been built at the same time as the AC.

How can you compare the AC to a government building or program? One is funded by taxpayers as a service to the community to protect them from bad guys, protect their homes from fire, and the other one is funded by a sales tax that is not living up to its expectations. Besides Cher what other huge concerts really made the money...Brittney Spears? Plus attendence with Sioux football was down a little last year but will be extremely worse this year. So I asked what could be done for the AC to make money...maybe add Sioux basketball into the place.

So is it possible we may break the all time record this fall?

At least they are starting to build things around it...ever so slowly. Like the Valley Dairy store I am sure on gameday that place picks up. Maybe stick another Hugo's over there or a restaurant or two like they have at the Fargodome where you have a lot of food places to binge at both before and after the game or concert.

Thats why I said the 80's would have been a perfect time for the Alerus the Fargodome opened in 1992.

With the profit problems of the Alerus..could the city of GF beg UND to host some basketball games there to try to lure more people in? Or would The Ralph "outbid" that option. IMO the Alerus was built at the wrong time. If it was built in the 1980's there was little competition (no Fargodome, no New REA, no new arena in Winnipeg so concerts would have possibly skipped Fargo and went to Grand Forks but now with the new REA, Fargodome, and a new arena built in Winnipeg there is a lot of competition to get big acts to play at the Alerus and to turn a profit. I just don't see the AC getting into the black unless we start hosting big name football teams, FCS playoffs, maybe get NDSU in bball and big name concerts. Anyone else with ideas?

Tough sell for UND or even NDSU with the Big 10 schools of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Iowa looking at this kid. Unless he could get a starting job right away and not sit on the bench which could happen with the bigger schools.

I clicked on the today's post on Bisonville ( I like to troll over there when I need a good laugh) and there are 4 yes 4 threads all pointed to UND. Are they just bored over there that they have nothing to talk about but UND? Whether its our team, nickname, city or the facilities we play in....but remember they have moved on, no need to play us but yet can talk about us like a bunch of hens over a bridge table.

Because the Fargo Media is public enemy of the NDSU football team. Whatever.

For one thing, I didn't know it was a first time for Jensen. Secondly a game is still a game. At least that proved that you do it more than once you are suspended.

I can see that for a first offense(MIP) no game suspension but doesn't a first usually lead towards a second (Danny Kristo in 2010 5/2010 MIP, 9/2010 MIP-suspended 1 game vs Manitoba) plus he is close to becoming 21....Sept 9th.
