Which was not allowed at Memorial Stadium. So if they upgrade it would it banned?? I know NDSU fans hate that rule inside the Fargodome.
-
Maybe the Memorial Stadium figures were due to weather. Cold weather doesn't bring out the fans. But un updated new facility might. How do they survive in Green Bay, and Denver, and Missoula.

Alerus Playoff Attendance: 2001: 6700 vs Winona St, 5595 vs Pitt St, 11,696 vs UC Davis 2003: 5595 vs Pitt St, 9744 vs Winona St, 9652 vs N. Alabama 2004: 8222 vs Grand Valley St. 2005: 5223 vs Minnesota-Duluth 2006: 5073 vs Winona St. 2007: 5370 vs Winona St I think fans felt Winona was a joke and didn't bother to show. Just look at the UC Davis attendance (I was at that game ) Memorial Stadium: 1993: 3759 vs Pitt St, 3047 vs Mankato St. 1994: 3520 vs NE Missouri St. 1995: 5595 vs NDSU

Look at it this way. D2 playoffs against Duluth or Winona St. or FCS playoffs against NDSU, SIU, App St. Bigger teams with more exposure.
-
I look at it this way, what would attendace be at the Ralph if we played in a conference with the bottom tier of hockey teams, and no playoffs. Would you pay money for parking, tickets, and concessions? Or wait until we were playoff eligible. Look at the attendance at the Alerus when every game counted 2001-2007. In 2012 you will see that again.

If UND gets a new stadium just think of the jealousy talk 70 miles south! They are envious that the Alerus was getting new turf and the Fargodome wasn't, just think once they get their new turf we get a new football stadium. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!

I got my numbers from an August article. http://ndsunews.areavoices.com/2010/08/26/enrollment-up-at-north-dakota-research-universities/

Look at the REA. The old one was half empty in the 80's. Due to a non-consistant winning program and same with the early to mid 90's. Now you get a state of the art facility plus a kick @ss program that is in the playoffs every year and you sell out the place. Football could do that too. Especially if you have night games in Sept. (when the weather is still nice) and day games in the afternoon plus a hockey game that night in Oct, and Nov. I think we could put 20,000 fans as the population of eastern North Dakota increases the fans will increase too as long as tickets are not sky high. The Alerus averaged over 10,000 its championship year and the Ralph over 11,000. Both buildings were new, and both had championship teams. I am definately on the Memorial Stadium upgrade train!!! All abord.

Actually we have 9 years left of our current lease with the Alerus. 9 years is NOT long term. Also look at Montana their enrollment is 15,642 (http://missoulian.com/news/local/article_7b4f48ce-ca59-11df-8c2d-001cc4c03286.html) UND is at 13,431. Their "outdoor" stadium is 25,203 and packed. Missoula has a population of 64,081 (2009 est.). Just a bit bigger than Grand Forks. Why wouldn't we pack the stadium if we have national title type teams. Show a great product and people will want to see it.

Just trying to get a visual. Is there enough room to have one side next to 2nd Ave N. and the other side running from the current endzone to the railroad tracks? With a north wind running sideways it doesn't give either team an advantage. Any info on the roof or no roof?
-
If this happens could the Big Sky look towards UND's neck of the woods for a replacement. Or have the Big Sky stay the same minus Sac St and PSU.
-
Sounds great!!! Sioux sports will be all over the tv. Just the way it should be.
-
When was this team up? When we crushed a D2 team? That is the calibur of this team. We would be lucky to compete in the NSIC. This season is garbage and it started by the @ss whooping we got in Idaho. I will chalk up this team for being so young but if we start 2011 0-3 or 0-4 Mussman must go then and there.
-
So would UND be better off with a coach from the team or look elsewhere.
-
Hardin had passes go in and out of his hands but blame on only 4 receivers...how many do you need?
-
"Hendrickson gives us a better option throwing the football" Mussman are you f-in serious?? We need a QB!!!!
-
Can we get that QB from Auburn.

UND 17 UM 13

Your post is dead on. Its not the teams its the situation. A GWFC title..a little exciting, no playoffs here comes Lamar....Snore. 2012- UNC for first place in the BSC...sellout. Idaho State-a win and we are in the playoffs...sellout. Its that simple. Its not the teams in the BSC that there is excitement its the autobid and a chance at a national title, and for basketball its March Madness this time we can participate!!

FSSN or Fox College Sports on Dish Network?

Best 12 bucks I spend a month. -
I remember her working for WDAZ in Grand Forks before she got married. Najla Gahzi (sp?)
-
I would like to hear from either NDSU's president, Gene Taylor, or some head coaches and get their opinion on the Big Sky. If they would be for it. I think we know where the fans sit.
-
But Bison fans don't want to leave the MVFC/Summit because its very stable, and they are so close to all other teams.
