Before MSU and UM look at the OOC home games of NDSU...since playoff eligible: Austin Peay, Central Conn St, Wagner, Morgan State, South Dakota (funny how that got scheduled before UND), Lafayette, St. Francis. Future OOC home games from 2012: Robert Morris, Prairie View A&M, Montana State, Western Carolina, and Montana. Only USD, Montana, and MSU are home and homes. Such cupcakes on that list (except USD, and the Montana's) and they don't want to play UND. I guess they see UND as not a cupcake but an actual tough opponent that could beat them. Note to Brian Faison....NDSU will only schedule winnable games at home. UND is not winnable.

3. Wisconsin (Badgers) has a policy against playing teams that are under nickname sanctions.....who says these other "Wisconsin" schools don't adopt the same policy as the Badgers.

True those years wouldn't matter except its odd for an FCS teams to travel to a DII teams, but in 2008 NDSU was playoff eligible and UND was a non-counter DI team so NDSU would only have had 10 DI teams to play against for a spot at getting 7 wins for the playoffs..so that could be another situation where the rivalry could've ended or GT would have just sucked it up and look forward to a full 11 DI team schedule in 2009.

I don't think UND or its fans are taking any BSC team for granite. Any team can beat anyone, and UND is being one who most BSC fans of teams not knowing much about us (EWU, PSU, Sac St) is overlooking. They see us as the newbie in the conference who hasn't made much noise during transition which is fine for me why come out screaming in transition and then falling on your face when it counts (2008 and 2009 NDSU). I think with a big crowd, lots of excitement, and confidence...UND will be making plenty of noise these first few seasons and turn a lot of heads in doing so.

Could we see the ND legislature (led by Al Carlson) get a state law making these teams play each other every year. Seems like Al loves to challege the SBoHE on everything.

Does anyone know if the NCAA did re-visit the REA? I know they were going to take a personal look at the arena to see if more, or less logos need to be removed.

When is NDSU going to schedule Michigan. How would they do in front of 100,000 people? That would be a sight!!

When was the last time a DI team played at a DII team? Would NDSU travel to Grand Forks in 2005, and 2007? That right there is another reason why this rivalry would have been stopped by NDSU.

Thats why I didn't say UND would win the game. NDSU was really good in 06 and 07 too. UND crushed DI Southern Utah in 2007 so back to back years of beating a DI team while in DII proved UND belonged in DI (IMO). I don't think UND had a good chance at beating NDSU last year and for sure in 2010. UND has been improving every year with recruiting in key areas especially at QB, and this is "the" year that UND starts to make some real noise in DI. National title appearance (doubt it) playoff appearance (maybe), suprising some teams who think we are just "another DII team that moved up" (definately!!). 2015 will be a good judgement where this UND team ranks whether we are with the good (Montana's App St) the bad (Southern Utah, UC Davis, Indiana State,) and the ugly (UNC, Idaho St, Missouri State). I don't think the bad teams are bad but the saying good, the bad, and the ugly sounds better than the good, the average, and the ugly.

I think 2006 UND would have had a great chance at beaing NDSU. I mean if UND can go into the UNI Dome and beat UNI then why not...NDSU hasn't seem to win in that dome.

I think a lot of people are going to vote Yes because they want the issue to go away. Its like watching a war drag out for a long time, you just want it to end. And a lot of people just want it to end. The wording is going to be a major factor too. My wife's co-worker was going to vote No because he said he wants the nickname issue to end and to retire the name, I told him you mean to vote Yes to retire the name. He thanked me and thought it was stupid that no means yes and yes means no.

I thank your parents for saving UND athletics...I just hope a lot of people follow their lead!

They want to punish UND for what they did to NDSU in 2004. Its all about that incident. Bisonville is full of that. Blame UND, blame Roger Thomas, GT is innocent in this. UND is still way below NDSU level of play. NDSU should only agree for a 2 for 1 game. First 2 in Fargo while they play 1 in Grand Forks. NDSU needs home games because thats how they won their National Title so bring on the home cupcakes and another National Title. I think they could write a book and call it....NDSU's excuses not to schedule UND.

If the yes vote wins shouldn't they look into it anyway since they are still gaining signatures for that other petition.

I thought the SC said they would look at it again since they didn't make any ruling and wanted to wait until the vote happened in June.

I can't believe its only 2 weeks from this Tuesday we learn the fate of the athletic department. I hope and pray that the NDSC will retake up this issue if the No voters have their way and deem the state law unconstitutional. Hell even if the Yes votes win still take it up and deem it unconstitutional, that way Al Carlson will look more of a moron than he already is.

Thats why I don't get too excited about preseason polls...you basically base it on how last year went and who returns. Well if Hanson turns out to be a stud we could be a contender if he is a flop we could be in the cellar. Hard to say. But I would also love to see UND get revenge on Cal Poly.

I think UND should be between 5-7. Not in the top and not at the bottom but in the middle. I actually predict the title going to either Cal Poly (VERY favorable conference schedule) or Montana State. I think Montana with its offseason problems will cost them the title, but maybe not a playoff berth.

Now this is a post I can respect. I don't get this UND need to be at NDSU's level first or prove they are "worthy" to grace the Fargodome turf. GT wanted every other year, every other year is now available in 2015. I say start with a simple home and home and in 2017 when the clock hits zero at the Alerus Center see if both teams want to do this again.

But I am sure NDSU didn't need the money in 2009 therefore could allow its team to have a road OOC FCS game.
