Since most of BV feel its only for UND's benefit I say add SDSU and USD, and let the Bison fend for themselves in the Slummit. They don't want to join the Big Fluffy as they call it well screw them. Maybe Bison fans and Douple were a perfect match. Plus don't forget ButtRPI.

The only thing about this is maybe the NCAA will treat this like the 15,000 minimum attendance in football. 90% of the MAC fails this rule but nothing will happen.

I think UND and its alumn in politics will fight that to the death. UND is in a stable conference, NDSU isn't and its no guarantee that NDSU will remain in that conference with the MVC, HL, and even the MAC being thrown around. UND could get stuck in the SL with no way out. If the ND legislature can't get UND and NDSU to meet each other on the gridiron then they can't do this.

Every school is going to have competition at every position. Even todays starter could be next years backup. Its called life. From Pop Warner to the NFL.

I like how UND is ranked (althought very early) in the top 3. I think UND made its case as a good team even without Huff. So a healthy Huff equals a title run IMO.

If Oakland leaves that drops the league to 4....that means the SL would have a 2 year grace period so don't they have til 2015 to fill the void?

An remember it wasn't up to Kelley to get rid of the name as he takes orders from the SBoHE. So blaming Kelley for the nickname issue is irrelevant as he has ZERO control over it, same with Kendall baker or even Tom Clifford. But now that issue is six feet under and we can move on. No way UND gets a MVFC invite unless teams like YSU, Illinois St, or others leave, because the eastern schools were not thrilled when the Yotes joined. Plus if UND got the same deal as USD did back in 2010 UND would be taking it, but now I am positive UND wouldn't go for it. About 3 years to late. Next conference for UND will be an FBS conference.

I went to the UND-NDSU game last year, it was the first time I ever saw volleyball in person and it was great. Of course UND sweeping the Bison made it even better. I hope to get up to a game (hopefully the NDSU game) at the Betty.

I think GT has a plan too and it doesn't include being connected with SDSU at the hip. If NDSU had a chance to bolt and if they (the new conference) didn't want SDSU, the Bison would drop Douple and the Jacks in a heartbeat.

They are mad that their former conference mates are moving to greener pastures while they, the Jacks, and the Yotes are missing the trail. They got pissed when UNC went to the BSC and they didn't, they got mad they didn't get chosen for the MVC. Seems the whole we are a mighty football school so you must kneel to us, doesn't work in a non-football conference (Horizon, MVC).

Fargo is protecting houses that are not near any golf course they are also protecting city buildings, schools, churches, businesses, even a VA hospital which serves the RRV. Tell me what is more important to the state losing country land or losing your largest city? What about townships like Hickson or a major city like Fargo? Fargo didn't get the funds like GF and Wahpeton did back then for flood protection because Fargo didnt lose the city only a few neighborhoods. They since past a sales tax to collect the funds for flood walls, buyouts and dikes in parts of the city, but we don't have the funds for something major like a diversion. And you said it we are in a wet cycle which according to the NWS started around 1993. How many major floods hit Fargo before 1993? I think it was 79, one in the 1960's and the big one of 1897. Since the wet cycle started 20 years ago only a handful of years didn't produce a major flood. So Fargo needs protection and needs it now.

Who was the last freshman QB to lead UND into the playoffs? I am thinking Kevin Klancher but he didn't start all 11 games in 1994.

With new coaches, a favorable schedule (7 home games) and a year in the BSC I think UND needs to go at least 8-3.

What makes that diversion stupid? Why save the largest city in ND from going under then the city gets to spend BILLIONS of dollars in recovery. What are people in little towns around Fargo going to do for work, shop, college? Please enlighten us Fargoans.
