  1. How did the NCAA do this in DII with lowering scholarships?
  2. I see what you are saying and that logic would have to be with raising or lowering scholarships.
  3. In men's basketball 0-4.... but UND was undefeated against the MAC. How did NDSU do against the MAC?
  4. Who votes to raise or lower scholarship levels...NCAA or the school's themselves?
  5. The BCS conferences would be The New DI, the other conferences would be D-1A and the FCS would be D-1AA. That separates themselves there. As for the money part, they could have their own bowl games (Orange, Rose, etc) and specific tv contracts for only that division (ESPN) to add more revenue to that division which puts more money into the pockets of the NCAA. As for basketball...it stays as it does now. Why change things if they split in football when you have 300+ teams in the same division for 1 title now.
  6. All these conferences have to do is talk money with the NCAA...and the will find a way to split from the lower conferences. When you talk money the NCAA listens.
  7. I was a dishwasher there, and I had a hard time communicating with the dad.
  8. I don't miss the Shangri La...I worked there for two weeks in 92. Managers were douchbags.
  9. When your defense makes your team one dimensional it's hard to run the ball at all. You need points and passing was the answer and the Bobcats knew that. Look at what Hanson/Hendrickson did all year threw up some big numbers in the air and you have to give credit to the OL for that.
  10. Why would they print a story without contacting the AD to see if it was true? But I am sure OU is on their way out.
  11. What I read it was a "done deal".
  12. Now that Oakland left why would they want to stay. Oh that's right that RPI thing that FU love to throw around in the one bid league. I wouldn't be surprised to maybe have DU as a non football member of the Big Sky if Idaho joins the SB in all sports.
  13. DU will move on after next season.
  14. It's been raining off and on since Friday night. River rising a little from the rain but only because there is a lot of ice on the river and snow in the fields from here to the SD border.
  15. Our passing O line did great last season did we lose many on the line? Also RB shouldn't be too bad if we can get some run blocking
  16. Glad to hear Mollberg is doing good, I think QB is the only question mark on that side of the ball.
  17. My hangout was the Rock, is that place still hopping? In 98 they had dollar drink night, I drank 13 screwdrivers in about an hour an a half. Such good times there.
  18. So did you put up a fight against FU joining the BSC the first time or second time they tried to get in? I bet you emailed GT and had signs protesting FU's attempt to the Big Sky. Your hatred towards the conference that rejected your school twice is very funny, are you hoping that three times a charm? Or will FU turn the SL into the GWC 2.0 when everyone leaves FU behind (notice I didn't say the SU's).
  19. Pretty soon I am not going to recognize the GF I grew up in.
  20. That's right Dean...I would rather be in a conference on the verge of losing its AQ status due to everyone jumping ship.
  21. What would be better than the Big Sky...the Mountain West? The Missouri Valley? UND isn't in a position to join those conferences. Location for one thing and facilities would be another. The Big Sky is perfect and why....stability. Last team to leave the Big Sky was Cal State-Northridge in 2001. That was 12 years ago. How many teams have left the Summit in the last 12 years? Eight (if you include UMKC and Oakland). That's almost a team a year. Yes since '01 the SL has added teams but its just replacing the ones the leave until recently. DU may turn and run, Omaha isn't a full DI member, so that leaves the SU's, USD, WIU, and the Indiana schools. As for the Big Sky since '01, they lost 1 (CSU-Northridge) and gained 4 (including Idaho) and 6 including Cal Poly and UC Davis. So again why should UND leave the BSC for the SL? It should be the other way around...SL teams should be trying to get into the Big Sky.
  22. Very true Al Carlson is preventing any more money to be paid for a diversion until the Feds chip in ( and you know how long that could be). Very political issue and needs to be solved right away with either a flood wall or a diversion. This sandbagging thing is very old!!
  23. Fargo was on the National news and the weather channel for its upcoming flood. Seems like a lot of rain/snow will be showing its ugly head in the next couple weeks while temps will slowly climb by mid month to get this flood underway. Still a lot of snow to melt, and sandbags to fill. I am glad Grand Forks doesn't have this problem, because if Fargo evacuates....I need somewhere to hang out.
  24. As long as Hak brings in the fans (which were #1 in DI..again), Hak's job is safe. At least with Hak we know UND will be there in the playoffs. We are not UAA or Michigan Tech. UND went from 1963-1980 without a title, and 87-97 without a title. We are now at 13 years....its frustrating but title droughts aren't a rare thing.
