I'm still getting used to Knights and this fall that nickname hits 20 years.

5-10 years people will start moving on to the new nickname.

There is nothing the University or the NCAA can do if "fans" yell Sioux at the end. Just like they can't prohibit Sioux gear at games, since the logo is "historical" (their words). UND has no "offensive" songs except Fight on Sioux which I am sure is renamed Fight on U as they still play the song at games.

I can't wait to see it completed!!

But on the other hand, if the Spirit Lake wouldn't have remained neutral and choose to support the logo from the beginning he wouldn't have made a crappy deal with the NCAA (more years but get 2 tribal approvals). Lots of people to blame in the whole nickname mess from the NCAA to the AG, to the tribes.

Or since McFarlane can't use an actual college name without permission, he decided on the fictional name Dakota University and used a typical stereotype to depict Indians as drunk.

Bison are the sacred animal of NA culture. Not that any of the other Dakota schools have to worry about protests, and name changes.

Exactly, even when we do get a new name it won't be Indian related so it won't affect us, the only name close to Native Americans in the Dakota's is the Bison.

The drunk Indian said he was the mascot of Dakota University ( which of course doesn't exist) but is of course making fun of UND. Remember that cartoon on the Gameday program when UND played Texas Tech, their Yosemite Sam mascot was fighting with an Indian that looked drunk. Let's just say if UND still had the nickname..this would've have killed it.

I hope people at Florida State were watching, as they do their Tomahawk Chop and have that white guy dressed as an Indian mascot.

Wrestling will return at the 2020 Olympics over baseball and squash.

Its all because when KVLY televised the Bison spring game over the hockey playoff game, VNL posted a FB question about it, of course I commented on it, so Aces (I have no idea who his real name is) clicked on my page which was pretty private (except the basic info) and pasted it on Bisonville. He even commented on my wife. Love the complaining from hockey and UN_ fans on the VNL FB page. There is also an appearance by everyone's favorite SS.com special person, _arell1976. So you dismiss all the DI schools in college hockey and say its just a bunch of DII and DIII schools. Iowa is a big name wrestling school I think everyone knows that. Just like UND/MInnesota/Michigan are big name hockey schools in the hockey world. I am sure Monk will go on to the next level...what ever that is since I believe wrestling is no longer in the Olympics (watch out Hulk Hogan).

What DI opponent are you referring to on NDSU's schedule? U of Mary, Concordia, MSUM, Southern Oregon, Edinboro. Those are teams NDSU faced in invitational games (Bison Open, Dragon Open) still counts.

But yet you guys criticize UND for playing with DII and DIII schools, what division is Franklin and Marshall?? It sure the hell isn't DI.

Using my FB pic is what gets me, since its all over the net, what would stop this person from using pics of my kids. We are all about having fun even throwing things back and forth from this board to that board and so on, but putting someone's pic, and FB page where anyone can see it especially when you have kids. Its alarming. Hopefully the Mods there will get rid of that account. If they feel the need to use my name whatever, but use a UND logo as a pic.

Well since I don't go around posting people's FB page, and create fake usernames, I think my obsession is very mild compared to the dolts over there.
