  1. Ya FCOA, the trump election campaign, wells for water in Africa . . . quite possibly. Feel free to make some other sh*$ up too.
  2. Shouldn't you be trying to figure out what sports you are going to slash so you can pay FCOA at UND? Or should I be asking you what happens at und if you don't raise enough private donations to cover FCOA? IF UND is such a fund raising machine, why aren't coaches being paid competitively? Lots of questions. The Foundation isn't covering it, just insuring the project until the money is raised.
  3. I had not heard that it was fully funded, only that the Foundation had indicated it would support the project as needed. Not sure on that.
  4. You are mixing your topics. Raising student fees was not given as the way that NDSU will provide FCOA. It will be raised with private donations. Now, if NDSU raises student fees to UND's level, why not? Are you going to argue with that when UND student's are already paying a much higher fee? You would be talking out of both sides of your mouth if you argued that NDSU should not raise student fees to UND's level. Raising student fees to a comparable level of regional schools seems like a wise move to me. New athletic director, new view on where student fees should be . . . its not that hard to understand. Hey, maybe NDSU should start charging the students for athletics tickets. Are you going to talk out of both sides of your mouth on that topic too?
  5. The guy announced his retirement which takes effect in 3 months. Of course he's keeping his trap shut, he's leaving and on cruise control. The Idaho situation will be on someone else's plate, not Fullerton's.
  6. The NDSU AD specifically said that the COA dollars will be raised through private donations, with 1/2 of the amount covered for the 1st 3 years. He specifically said it will be funded through private donations. Was he supposed to publically provide a list of private donors . . . would that satisfy the vultures? So, Ndsu is not waiting for the hammer to drop on several of its athletic programs like Und is anticipating. The COA mystery is up north.
  7. You are suggesting this change is controversial, I am not. You are dragging it to Und's level, I am not. There is no controversy, a change is being made, that's all.
  8. It will simply be changed. No controversy, no argument, no congressional debate, no tax dollars spent, no fighting with the ncaa or NA folks. It's done.
  9. Let me help you, the Big Sky is FCS. Let me point out that the SWAC and the MVC are also both 1 bid leagues. You are trying to tell me that the quality of all 1 bid leagues are the same?
  10. Ndsu is raising student fees to around Und's level. And und charges students for athletics tickets where ndsu does not. Oh the hipocracy runs deep here.
  11. Summit Ranking 16 of 34 Big Sky Ranking 27 of 34
  12. The two times I've met Fields in Boz, it was below him to be friendly and converse. Didn't appear to have the personality to relate to the average fans
  13. FBS is the 85 scholarship level with the "College Football Playoff". The Big Sky ain't going there now, or ever. They may go tier 2 if there is ever another championship established at a lower scholarship level, but FBS-85 is not happening for Big Sky. How you see these recent developments helping your FBS - 85 scholarship pipe dream is surprising to say the least. All these latest things point to your FBS plans going Poof!! Sorry, time for a reality check.
  14. You are all alone in thinking that the BSC can go FBS. All over AGS, CAA fans are repeating again and again that if FCS conferences could move FBS, the CAA would have done so long ago, and that MA and ODU would still be in the CAA. The NCAA will squelch any designs that the BSC has to move FBS. Having Idaho in your conference as the reason will draw belly laughter for FBS conferences.
  15. So Witchita is going to be happy playing BB with that group of basketball misfits? No way.
  16. Of course not. Haha, is his brother taking over for him?
  17. LSU can keep the game on the schedule regardless of whether Idaho is FBS or FCS. LSU would likely negotiate the guarantee down if Idaho is FCS.
  18. Why is this NDSU topic such a big deal here? It's probably easier and more fun to talk about than Und cutting sports to fund FCOA.
  19. NDSU's student fees are significantly less than UND's. After increasing NDSU's student fees by 34%, NDSU's student fee will still be, "significantly less than UNDs. If NDSU's student fees were $1, compared to UND's $250, and NDSU increased the fees to $5, the headline here would be . . . "NDSU increases student fees by %500!!!". A little disingenuous, don't you think? Take away? Just a bunch of idiots on this board making a mountain out of a mole hill. NDSU student fees will still be a great value compared to other area universities. Why is NDSU doing this? It's low hanging fruit that just sitting there for the taking, so take it and put it to use. The fees for students are increasing, but they will still be relatively low.
  20. Huge if on whether a split actually happens. If it does, the Mvfc will simply adjust scholarships up to be in tier 2. The Big Sky on the other hand has half or more of their teams incapable of more $ toward scholarships. A split would surely keep ndsu in the east, and create big sky instability.
  21. "NDSU will never play a meaningful game when they move to DI and are playing FCS football. They are crazy and should stay in DII." Just saying . . . lots of people have said stupid things. "NDSU would be more relevant I FCS than FBS" . . . might just be the next stupid thing.
  22. Those 20 teams all joined existing FBS conferences, following the allowed process for moving to FBS football. They are FBS. Nothing you have said changes the process. There is nothing wrong with being FBS or FCS. The process of joining the FBS ranks is not open to entire FCS conferences, as the ncaa has repeated over and over.
  23. Today there are two championships, one at be 85 scholarship level, and one at the 63 scholarship level. Why on earth would anyone in the FBS ranks want or allow a large infusion of FCS teams to join them? There is no desire for that by the P5 conferences, the G5 conferences, or the NCAA. The thought that anyone in the FBS would want or allow whole FCS conferences to goto the 85 scholarship level is ludicrous. Thus the current rules in place for FCS move ups to have an invite from an existing FBS conf.
  24. The FBS today has 1 champion. The current structure is not gong to allow FCS conferences to join. Individual teams need to join existing conferences, or FBS membership will not be achieved. If another championship is added in 10 years, then the rules might change. Until then your theories are worthless. If the BSC wants to sue the ncaa over exclusion, that would create a good laugh around the country. The BSC would be a bottom of the barrel conference, not deserving of inclusion in the first place. There is a mechanism for FCS teams to join the FBS ranks, legally that checks the box for the ncaa. There is no conspiracy, nothing to exploit for the BSC. I know that must be frustrating for you and Fullerton.
  25. the P5 is restricting entrance to the FBS level, not trying to grow it. They are restricting conference additions, not growing them. Adding teams and conferences reduces the P5 pie. You are out in left field, again.
