  1. Like me, maybe Kolpack thought that it would be cool if Wichita joined the MVFC, so he thought he'd ask Patty about it. Maybe he formed his headline after the interview, like any journalist would do. Or maybe Patty called Kolpack to share her input on the Witcha Mvc conference issue, to send a message to Wichita. . . you're not welcome in the MVFC if your going to badmouth FCS football. Hummm, who knows.
  2. Seems to me that Kolpack is the Interviewer, and that Vigorito is the "Interviewee". What is being said comes from the Interviewee, Vigorito. Sorry, Kolpack is not the story here. I've read opinion pieces before, and this is not one.
  3. You are 12 for 12 on your latest posts. You sure it's only 25%?
  4. You mention ndsu and disparage ndsu in 95% of your posts, practically begging for ndsu folks to respond to you. You are the ultimate troll, and the single reason bison folks post here. Please Don't pretend that it somehow bothers you.
  5. Every conference has a bottom of the barrel team. The NCAA would not want a bottom of the barrel conference. They told the CAA no when it was a pretty good conf.
  6. The FCS Pioneer League has a Champion, plays good FCS teams, gets a Playoff berth, and has a chance to go undefeated with the right schedule. It is essentially what the Big Sky would be if FBS, and is an example of why teams are required to join existing conferences at the FBS level.
  7. Did you just say, Not being Ego Centric? IALTO
  8. When talking Goals, things change if you are FBS. FCS Goals; Conf Championship, Playoff Berth, Playoff Seed, National Championship FBS Goals: Conf Championship, Win a P5 Game, win 10 games, Top 25 ranking, Bowl game, Jan Bowl Game, be Relevant nationally If you are in an FBS Big Sky, almost none of FBS goals listed above are even attainable. You are akin to being an FCS team in the Pioneer League where even winning your conference is meaningless. That's really why joining an existing FBS conference is really the only way to be a credible FBS team in an credible FBS conference. The fact that the Pioneer League is FCS, doesn't change the fact the sub-DII football is being played.
  9. You don't have to get all pairwise, I mean pairshaped about it!
  10. And only if NCAA and P5 school approve. This one doesn't pass the smell test, this one gets a thumbs down by both.
  11. A guarantee game vs Lamar, Wofford, or Towson makes more sense than one vs Northern IL or Georgia Southern if your objective is to win. Both count the same toward bowl eligibility. Only the B1G has a soft policy against FCS games, SEC and P12 do not have policies about scheduling FCS. Yes, no one wants to play an ndsu team ranked in 35 range. No one would schedule a G5 ranked that high either. Bad example.
  12. Why wasn't the CAA allowed to move up enmass? Why would anyone really view the WAC, a vacated FBS conference any differently than the CAA situation? The WAC's situation is weak, no better than the CAA's previously. What's the difference between this move and 8 CAA members declaring for FBS and moving. Idaho? Like Idaho really matters. If I'm a P5 team in any league, this has the thumbs down. Idaho is finally back to where it belongs . . . If I'm a P5 member, I'd prefer keeping it that way. And if I'm Umass, ODU and the CAA, I'm on the NCAA's doorstep with a lawsuit at first wind of this. As for the P5's needing more G5's, no they don't. They can get cheaper games if these schools remain in the FCS.
  13. What people here are failing to realize is that the NCAA FBS football community would be needed to approve the WAC's addition to the FBS. They have not gotten involved much in single team move ups to existing conferences, but they would require an approval vote for the entire WAC addition and movement to the FBS enmass. The FBS community would not look farvorably on a change of heart by Idaho (one of the weakest FBS members), and that community would definitely not look favorably on 8 other teams of Idaho's caliber tagging along. A vote by the FBS community would certainly be NO. The WAC rule suggestion is a mute point, it's not happening, it would not be supported by the NCAA and the FBS community.
  14. If I'm a member of the ncaa, the move by Idaho from the FBS to the FCS level is an outstanding precident. It finally opens the door for other bottom of the barrel FBS teams to move back to where they really belong, at the FCS level. This is a great day for the ncaa, Idaho has opened the door downward so hopefully more will follow. If im the ncaa, the last thing I would allow or change the rules for is for the conference that Idaho just joined to all move back to the FBS where none of them belong. Sorry, the last thing the ncaa and P5 would do is change a rule that would allow entire FCS conferences to goto where they don't belong.
  15. There is no rule against FBS teams playing Idaho at either level. Nothing changes. If Idaho announces an FCS move tomorrow, you can put a fork in the BSC to FBS projections. It's really the right place for Idaho, let's face it.
  16. The FBS level is the 85 scholarship level that determines its champion in the college football playoff. It has 10 conferences, including the MAC. Of course EMU is part of the FBS, that's a given.
  17. Did SV give you permission to post this Darell? You better check in with him/her.
  18. If the second level changes, the BSC and MVFC will want to be a part of it. No one disagrees with that at all. But SV is saying that the BSC is going to the top level, the current FBS level. I'm saying that has no chance of happening.
  19. SV is misleading everyone into thinking that a current FCS conf will be able to move FBS in the current FBS situation with both P5/G5 groups.. The truth is, unless there is a change to the current FBS grouping, that would never happen. If there would be an FBS split in 5 years, 10 years, then everything changes. SV will never explain himself, that would make him accountable, and we wouldn't want that.
  20. The truth is . . . The BSC will never join what is currently the FBS ranks, where the championship is currently a 4 team playoff. Aint Happening. What SV is hiding behind is that someday the G5 will not be part of the current P5 group, although today both are FBS. If someday the P5 confs and the G5 confs have separate championships, then it would be feasible for the BSC and other current FCS conferences to join the G5 teams in the second level. Then SV and others will then declare, "see how smart I am, we are now FBS". He is hoping that an FBS split will come soon, but I'm not so sure. The current P5 conferences are having their cake and eating it too, while the G5 conferences are quietly walking behind the P5 conferences on a leash, getting a few scraps that fall from their master's hand. Where is the need for a split? Until the G5 stands up and becomes vocal (maybe never), the P5 will continue to tell the G5 to sit, fetch, and roll over. Split? What spit. The P5 doesn't need it as this time.
  21. That was about the best thing that happened to NDSU in hind sight. The Best thing, no lie. Had NDSU gone into the BSC, the script changes significantly. Maybe that rejection in 2003 is feather in the cap at UND, but it was the catalyst at NDSU for their transition. If the BSC vs. the Summit/MVFC was on the table at the same time in the same year, the latter would easily be the 1st choice. When the BSC was the only choice, it was the 1st choice, yes.
  22. What SD did to get into the Summit/MVFC was a much more impressive feat than UND's move to the BSC. SD had the same offer as UND, everyone with a pulse at that time had a BSC offer. If SDSU, SD or NDSU had wanted to be in the BSC at that time, they would have moved. They did not. Predicting that UND was going to the BSC was a low bar, as the BSC opened the doors to a lot of schools at that time. SD used their BSC offer to leverage the MVFC and get what they truly wanted. They got the gold star for negotiating, while und followed the path of least resistance to the BSC. In 2003, predicting a Dakota school to the BSC was bold, in 2007 it was not.
  23. In the primary DI sports of FB, BB and Baseball, you cannot play DI unless you are fully a DI institution. Exception are made for other sports such as hockey, where non DI institutions are allowed to play at the DI level.
  24. I don't agree with this guy. Und athletic behavior (good or bad) does not reflect on the state, it just reflects on Und. With regard to your nickname, you have a well earned reputation as the rogue university. I wouldn't expect that to change, you'll be chanting Fighting Sioux for the next 100 years, just because you can and you said you would. This guys doesn't need to be worried about Und, it's not his concern.
  25. God expects humility, integrity and honesty. While I sometimes fall short, this is Something to ponder.
