Carson Wentz taking Philly err Indy err DC by storm

I’m genuinely curious on your thoughts. I’ll be conservative with my list to not be a homer, but I think there are three more on the list below that you could make an argument for Carson having a better career than. Yes=Carson is better No=He isn’t Yes #1 Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma St. Louis Rams Yes #25 Tim Tebow QB Florida Denver BroncoS 2011 No #1 Cam Newton QB Auburn Carolina Panthers Yes #8 Jake Locker QB Washington Tennessee Titans Yes #10 Blaine Gabbert QB Missouri Jacksonville Jaguars Yes #12 Christian Ponder QB Florida State Minnesota Vikings 2012 No #1 Andrew Luck QB Stanford Indianapolis Colts Yes #2 Robert Griffin QB Baylor Washington Redskins No #8 Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M Miami Dolphins Yes #22 Brandon Weeden QB Oklahoma State Cleveland Browns 2013 Yes #16 EJ Manuel QB Florida State Buffalo Bills 2014 Yes #3 Blake Bortles QB Central Florida Jacksonville Jaguars Yes #22 Johnny Manziel QB Texas A&M Cleveland Browns No #32 Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville Minnesota Vikings 2015 No #1 Jameis Winston QB Florida State Tampa Bay Buccaneers Yes #2 Marcus Mariota QB Oregon Tennessee Titans 2016 No #1 Jared Goff QB California Los Angeles Rams #2 Carson Wentz QB North Dakota State Philadelphia Eagles Yes #26 Paxton Lynch QB Memphis Denver Broncos 2017 Yes #2 Mitchell Trubisky QB North Carolina Chicago Bears No #10 Patrick Mahomes QB Texas Tech Kansas City Chiefs No #12 Deshaun Watson QB Clemson Houston Texans 2018 No #1 Baker Mayfield QB Oklahoma Cleveland Browns Yes #3 Sam Darnold QB USC New York Jets No #7 Josh Allen QB Wyoming Buffalo Bills Yes #10 Josh Rosen QB UCLA Arizona Cardinals No #32 Lamar Jackson QB Louisville Baltimore Ravens 2019 No #1 Kyler Murray QB Oklahoma Arizona Cardinals Yes #6 Daniel Jones QB Duke New York Giants Yes #15 Dwayne Haskins QB Ohio State Washington Redskins Where do I have it wrong? Baker, Teddy and Jameis are the 3 that I think an argument could be made, but it’s close so I left them as a “No” would love to see your thoughts -

I enjoy a good sports discussion. Bisonville isn’t a good place for that. Most days I find that outlet here from people who’d I’d likely enjoy a beer and a chat with in the real world, regardless of the college logo I wear I on my shirt. Today in this thread was not one of those days. -

Not a hockey guy, those are literally the only UND hockey players I could name. -

Is there a thread on bisonville devoted to shitting on TJ Oshie and Zach Parise? -

Clearly you have no interest. Which is why you keep responding on this thread. -

Weak response You have an entire thread devoted to shitting on the guy. It’s absolutely appropriate to post his accolades. -

https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2269329-qbs-taken-in-the-1st-round-since-2010 list of every first round pick since 2010. Carson has had a better career than most of the people on this list. -

Wow…ok so 25 then? Pick a number under 32 and my point is still valid. There isn’t a single person on this board that is in the top 32 at their job in the world. Good lord, some of you people need to grow the hell up. Because a kid went to your rival school you’re cheering for him to fail and are giddy with excitement when he doesn’t play well. It’s a sad existence. Life is more fun if you look for reasons to cheer people on, especially when it’s a North Dakota kid. -

What is your definition of lousy? He’s one of the best 20 people in the world at his job. -
Not sure how not having a hockey program makes someone’s observations irrelevant to a discussion about facilities, but ok. His point stands though, it is completely false to say NDSU doesn’t have competitive facilities outside of the football program. Basketball, baseball, track and wrestling all have seen massive improvements in their facilities in the last 15-20 years.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/saints-rookie-trevor-penning-kicked-out-of-practice-after-third-fight-in-as-many-days/amp/ “it’s not unusual for something like that to happen in practice” obviously coaches don’t want players to go so far as to risk getting injured with this sort of aggression, but I’d be willing to bet the offensive line coach applauds this type of play. Offense and defensive lines got into fights multiple times a week when in our fall camps back in the day. Just the way it is on every team.
-
I’ve seen his highlights in one on ones, he’s definitely an aggressive guy. But offensive and defensive lineman have been getting in fights since the beginning of time. Your enemy is whoever is lined up against you in the nfl. There’s no love lost between offense and defense many times.
-
Of course, I thought that went without saying

Attended a Nebraska game a few years back and the game day experience is outstanding. I would echo what you've heard about Haymarket. Massive gathering with restaurants, bars and an enormous courtyard with very large screens to watch games. If you don't have a tailgate spot lined up, I would recommend hanging out at the Haymarket. Fans were the nicest, most knowledgeable, passionate fanbase I've ever been around. I'm sure you'll really enjoy your time there.

Isn’t he from Moorhead? Did he live in Minneapolis prior to Moorhead?
-
Cute It must hurt getting your ass kicked every year. Probably feels better to think everyone else is cheating. I understand.

So out of the hundreds if not thousands of players that have been low draft picks you pick the very few examples of people who rose above that and became hall of famers in Warner’s case. And this is the standard that Easton has to live up to in your mind or he’s a failure? Got it. You don’t have the slightest clue what is said in the team room at NDSU.
-
Lots of ifs there. If Carson never played another snap, he would have almost doubled the average career span in the nfl. Treys career hasn’t even started yet, really. Might want to pump the breaks there. For Easton to still be in the league is amazing. He isn’t exactly your prototypical pro QB. He is clearly showing his coaches and personnel people enough to keep him on the active roster. He was a 5th round pick, the expectations were never for him to be a starter in the league by anyone who follows football.
-
Yes I read it, it just simply has no merit. How is it that these players have had such long careers(by nfl standards) in the league if they aren’t progressing.
-
NFL teams will cut anybody without any regard for anyone’s interest but their own…rightfully so. You don’t stick around in the nfl as long as many of the ndsu guys have without progressing. I wonder why you left out Billy Turner from your non-sensical list of ndsu players that have played in the nfl longer than the league average career length, but somehow don’t live up to SIOUXFAN97’s talent eval.
-
So your point is that ndsu players in the nfl aren’t any good? Am I interpreting that correctly?
-
For the record I hope both young men have long and prosperous careers. To your comment, a simple scroll to the original comment comparing the two for absolutely no reason may provide some insight into where the real insecurity and sensitivity lies in this discussion.
-
Everything that happened on the court after the game has no defense, no place for that crap. But dunking after the buzzer, hanging on the rim after your opponent(who is a conference rival) breaks an unwritten rule of keeping pressure defense on while down big in the final minute? That’s totally understandable from my perspective. And I’m not surprised for a second if Richman had a few things to say about it after the game if that’s how it went down.
-
I think it’d be interesting to hear what was said between the two coaches. In sports emotions run high, they both felt justified in talking a little trash for their own reasons I would imagine and maybe the history goes deeper than just this game. But if it comes down to just how this game ended, if you’re going to keep your team in a full court press down 20 in the last minute, you can’t be surprised if the other team decides to dunk on you at the horn.
