Calm down. You guys want to be rivals, well, I consider you guys our main rival. What’s the point in having a rivalry if there isn’t some trash talk back and forth during the game? I haven’t said anything that isn’t friendly banter and gentle jabbing. Thicken your skin.
-
Pretty sure I read it right here.
-
Who’s trolling. Your guy is the one calling for cheap shots…as long as no flags are thrown.
-
While I stare at a screen watching college football? Pulling out my phone isn’t exactly a chore pal.
-
So if a penalty isn’t called, it’s considered not classless? Would that be your stance?
-
But that was “classless” and yet here you are calling for the same. And I’m the asshole?
-
What? Oh my…(clutching pearls) not from a classy team like UND. You guys only recruit class acts I thought who would never do such a thing.
-
Ndsu has run 6 different run plays for 12 years. It isn’t the scheme that’s beating UND today.
-
This isn’t high school here fellas, the refs don’t favor one team over another. The victim language here is slightly over the top.
-
That I agree with. I’m just referring to the difference in Bison teams from their veer years and today. The team you need to build to beat ndsu in 2022 is the type of team everyone in the nation is trying to build. It isn’t scheme specific the way those 80s team were.
-
This isn’t the 80’s, NDSU doesn’t run an offense like the veer that you can recruit players to beat it. NDSU runs a very balanced offense these days, what does a defense and offense specifically designed to beat NDSU even look like? The offense that beats NDSU is a 4-5 wide, sling it everywhere style with a mobile QB. That is nearly impossible to recruit that many athletes on the edges at the FCS level.

Bisonville is 10 guys who know each other offline who have inside jokes with each other. 15 years ago it was a decent place to have a football discussion, but hasn’t been for a long time. Throw in Lakes/el chapo and you’ve got an absolutely dumpster fire of a website.
-
Couldn’t agree more. You could feel it coming in my opinion. Entz’ coaching style and demeanor is much more emotional than his predecessors. I am a firm believer that players will take on the personality of their head coach and he doesn’t have the same aura of unflappability that Klieman and Bohl did. NDSU is still very good and could potentially make a run. But these boys aren’t the absolute killers that the players who came before them were. Those guys were hungry, these guys…not as much from what I can see.
-
Appreciate his honestly. Never a good look to have former players bickering publicly like that, but it’s the world we live in I suppose.
-
I believe in and support the credo Once a Bison Always a Bison, because of that, I wish the kid the best and hope he finds what he is looking for. That being said, I don't find this to be a loss for the team necessarily. Branding yourself is a part of today's game, I get it, but at some point the personal hype train needs to be backed up by play on the field and I simply haven't seen it with him.
-
All of your above points are well made and I agree. On the away game playoff record for ndsu, I think it’s also important to discuss the reason a team gets home field playoff games. Is it that ndsu is markedly better at home? Maybe. But if they are playing on the road in the playoffs, that year’s team is necessarily, in relative comparison, not as good as a team that is playing at home.

Glad you’re able to recognize my speed. As a UND football fan I know it’s not something you see regularly.
-
Is this a UND football thread or is it a non UND football thread? Maybe my eyes are failing me. The internet is the internet, it doesn’t take any additional effort to type in one webpage vs another.
-
I think the poster may have been referencing attention on a national level when comparing NCAA Basketball vs FCS football/NCAA Hockey. On that point specifically, the original poster may have actually understated the differences. NDSU’s current run is an outlier. Under normal circumstances, just making the NCAA basketball tournament is much more publicity nationally than an FCS championship or a hockey national championship.
-
I suppose that’s one way to interpret my post.
-
I’ll agree with you to a point here. To win a national championship, you have to be “good”, whatever that word would mean. But winning alone doesn’t make you a great QB. Lots of variables in football, Cam has had an amazing team around him and a lot of QB’s would have likely won a natty with that talent around them. That said, cam actually did win a natty and in my book that has to count for something.
-
Odd argument. A national championship is the ultimate goal at this level and the reason every team puts on their pads every Saturday. Downplaying it because other people have done it? A hell of a lot more people haven’t than have.
-
Should we look up how Nebraska has done since your game with them? Keep an eye on your own bobber bud.
-
Possibly either of those. But to throw an alternative, is it possible something scheme wise is confusing for opponents earlier in the game and then they’re able to find some plays that work over the course of the game? It seems defensively UND is so aggressive that I think it can surprise teams, maybe as the game goes on the offensive staff is able to exploit it? Not sure. It is interesting to see that pattern that has emerged for UND in FBS games though.
