  1. If you can't see the hilarious irony in your post I won't take the time to point it out.
  2. If you would keep it to the facts, I would have nothing to say. Instead, you make subjective comments that are grossly false. Keep it to the facts and you won't hear from me.
  3. Honest question: Do you actually believe some of this hatred you spew or is it a bit?
  4. I wouldn't necessarily draw any conclusions about a team's talent completely based on All-conference teams or other post season accolades. Voters for these types of things are notorious for voting for the good players on the best teams to be recognized for individual honors. The Heisman Trophy is either the best or worst example of this depending on how you see it.
  5. You gained 45 lbs over one offseason? Now I am interested and need to hear specifics on that.
  6. I had a similar problem, never weighed more than 180 and boy did I try. Then I realized I was better off being faster and more explosive anyway. Did you retain your speed and explosiveness with the added weight?
  7. Seems like a tall order to ask Jake Miller to gain 30 pounds in one offseason AND be faster and more explosive. He looks to have a pretty small frame and genetics say he likely will stay that way(I knew his sister well in college and she has one of the more slight frames I have ever seen on a woman) He has that ectomorph body type that is usually described as a "hard gainer". My guess is Mr. Miller could eat whatever he can get his hands on and he would be lucky to put on 10 lbs of muscle this offseason.
  8. I tend to jump around to a lot of different message boards, lots of free time, too much sometimes. The reason I come here and post most often, even more than Bisonville sometimes, is you tend to learn a lot more from differing viewpoints. It gets boring for me to always get the homer opinion on things, I like to see how my favorite team is viewed by others who don't give money to the program. I have learned a lot by reading opposing teams message boards. I read and post on Bisonville for very different reasons then why I post and read here. Over there, you rarely find viewpoints that don't take the party line, so there is no need for me to post. I tend to agree with everything they are saying so why take the time to post? I go there to keep up with true insider information. Many of the posters know what is going on with my favorite team days, if not weeks before it is ever reported in the media. It's interesting to see this message board sub-culture when you read and post on many different teams' boards. There are different rules, inside jokes and even different dialects on each board. I truly do find it fascinating. For example, SS is much more formal than Bisonville. I think the average poster on bisonville is likely much younger than here. I believe there are actually a lot of NDSU students who post on bisonville and over here I believe it to be more alums than students. Panthernation is somewhere in between. Anygivensaturday is my favorite board to read because you get to see all different kinds of viewpoints and they are VERY informed.
  9. Well, if by same motives you mean that I will default to being an NDSU fan in an argument, I am definitely guilty of that. If the conversation has turned into a pissing match back and forth, I can be sarcastic and throw out the party line talking points as well as the next guy. But if the rest of the participants in the discussion are making valid points, I tend to be pretty civil and level headed.
  10. Clearly, in my mind, it is UND. The relationship between the two schools is so polarizing in the state for many reasons, including the ones you listed. But, growing up in ND and then playing in two NDSU v. UND games, I have seen how heated it can get. UND is clearly NDSU's rival institution. Right now, obviously we aren't playing in football and I would say our most heated rivalry in football in UNI. We have really developed some bad blood with them. Anyway, I don't want to be the cause of a thread drift.
  11. Agreed, I have gotten to the point where I would like to see the game on the schedule every so often, just not every year.
  12. Does anyone else notice how this Risky fellow follows me around and makes personal comments about me? I responded to three separate posts, try to keep up.
  13. That's the UND attitude. Can't beat the best? Hope the best gets worse and then beat them.
  14. I think we all know expectations are anything but low in Fargo for the football team. He was obviously being modest for the media. I was there the first day Coach Bohl ever stepped into an NDSU football practice, trust me when I tell you his expectations for the NDSU program have been as high as they can get from DAY 1.
  15. Geaux Sioux is right. Attendance will continue to climb, but UND has some disadvantages. No need to turn another thread into a circus, but legitimate comparisons between NDSU and UND are fair. 1. Conference mates-closest conference game is Montana State, UND will never get a large contingency from the away team. NDSU has SDSU, USD and UNI that aren't traditionally teams that travel well, but if the game ends up being meaningful are close enough to at least fill thier team's tickets. 2. Stadium size-What is the capacity of the Alerus? 13k I think? Compared to 19k. 3. Hockey first school-sometimes downplayed, but once hockey season rolls around UND fans tend to choose the hockey games if they have a limited budget for their entertainment. For these reasons and others, NDSU will likely always have a better attendance on game day, but with winning comes people.
  16. All good points, last year was very similar in the playoffs, there were at least 5 teams that had legitimate shots at winning the championship. People weren't sold on SHSU and NDSU was an unknown commodity. Most people last year were predicting a GSU vs. Montana finale. Playoffs will be very exciting this year.
  17. This is why FCS football is great, no need to wonder once the playoffs come.

Likely, I've always thought it made more sense to look at a combo of average attendance and attendance as a percentage of capacity to see how a team is doing. Eventually UND will hit the 12 or 13k attendance which doesn't look all that great but if you are at 100% capacity it is great.

    SUU game

I wasn't there so I can't say, but I have been to game where they are standing 2 deep along the entire first few rows. NDSU is world renowned for it's outreach program to get little people enrolled, surprised you didn't know that. Side bar: Isn't it more offensive to be called a "little person" than a midget or dwarf? Seems odd that that segment of our population has decided that is the manner in which they would like to be referred.

    SUU game

Read what he said, people pack in the rows and stand the whole game so the seats are irrelevant. So if there are say 50 seats in a row there may be more like 70-75 kids standing in that row. Multiply that by 5-10 rows and it adds up.

Mike Breske. NDSU fans were actually really excited about him considering his pedigree, but for whatever reason Coach Bohl decided he wasn't right for NDSU moving forward. http://www.gobison.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=2400&ATCLID=204847030
  22. I agree completely, Marcus Williams gets a lot of hype and well deserved, but I think Heagle is/was the best player on the defense that is full of stars. Point being, 5 years ago the loss of NDSU's best player at such a key position in NDSU's defense would have translated to a huge dropoff. I don't feel like I even notice that he isn't out there, which is amazing.
  23. Dude calm the hell down, life isn't that serious. I honestly had no idea about any of the injuries other than Hanson. Thanks for the breakdown geauxsioux. As UND gets further along with this DI thing, the injuries at key positions won't hurt as much because the depth will be there. Last year was the first year that NDSU had the kind of depth to rebound from injuries like UND is dealing with. 5 years ago the Colten Heagle and Zach Vraa injuries would have been devastating for NDSU, now they have the depth to absorb some injuries.
  24. All of these players are out for the season?
