  1. I am likely younger than some on here based on the names people have presented so someone correct me if this is incorrect. But it seems to me that historically the entrepenuership and business programs have probably served UND more in the capacity you are speaking about than the MD, Law and Aviation programs. I believe your point is fair and accurate though.
  2. Conveniently forgetting that NDSU and UND were in the same conference back then?
  3. We have had this conversation so many times it actually pains me to have it again with you. It doesn't mean NDSU is afraid, but NDSU has an increased chance of losing when playing a higher quality opponent, which UND is. Our conference schedule already provides us with playing 3-5 ranked teams a year. It is difficult enough. When did I say I was done responding to you? We can say whatever we want on message boards, it doesn't change the fact that people who actually get paid to make these decisions have decided that it isn't in their best interest. You all can run numbers and talk motives until you are blue in the face, but when your job is on the line you are forced to make the decision that makes the most sense for you. Obviously GT doesn't think this game benefits NDSU as much as doing things the way he has been for the last few years. There isn't much else to say about it.
  4. Can't realistically win the national championship every year, but it is possible to make the playoffs every year. With NDSU historically having great attendance will likely get a home playoff game every year. It makes sense as a marketing strategy to give yourself the best possible chance to make the playoffs.
  5. How is Portland State better? Because they come from a good conference? So what, they have been a bottom dweller in the Big Sky forever. We could go around on this all day. Bottom line, people in glass houses shouldn't throw bricks, UND is in a glass house when it comes to OOC scheduling. So is NDSU btw.
  6. Haha, who says things like 3 out of the last 7? Did you check who those 7 wins were against in 2011? Two DII teams on the schedule that year. So they didn't "just miss the playoffs". Robert Morris made the playoffs in 2010.
  7. They have a losing record all time and I can't find anything that says they have EVER been to the FCS playoffs. http://en.wikipedia....ikings_football If that doesn't qualify as a cupcake I don't know what does. Edit: Looks like they made the playoffs in the 80's and 90's, but they haven't been relevant in the Big Sky for years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Portland_State_Vikings_head_football_coaches
  8. PSU, that's your ace in the hole? They are a cupcake and everyone knows it. When was the last time they were in the playoffs? If you want to bring up UCA then you have to give NDSU credit for Georgia Southern. Not sure which year, but Montana State also backed out of a home and home with NDSU.
  9. Honestly Darell, please point out which games on these UND schedules are more impressive than the NDSU schedules you have just posted? I feel like you are making my point for me by posting what you just did.
  10. FBS teams don't travel to FCS schools. We are talking about OOC schedules, why does that only include home games? Also, I see that you pointed out which games were replaced by other games on the UND schedule, but you didn't on the NDSU schedule. Why is that?
  11. Why, oh why, are we not counting FBS games? Do they not play into strength of schedule or count as a DI win come playoff time?
  12. What is wrong with that? He was hired to do a job and if he feels it isn't in NDSU best interest to play UND, for whatever reason he decides, that is his prerogative.
  13. I suppose this is the response I should have expected from you at this point. You might as well just keep this response on your clipboard so you can paste it in here you have used it so often. Have a great weekend man.
  14. How great is this? A UND fan and an NDSU fan speaking in a friendly way. The lion and the lamb laying down together. With what we just accomplished we should get together and work on the middle east next. Let this be a lesson to all of us. haha.
  15. Thanks man, to UND as well, we'll need it.
  16. Haha, I am just kidding man. We are all passionate football fans trying to kill time to get to the weekend and watch some football.
  17. That is exactly my point, so to say one team's OOC schedule is more impressive than another team's isn't accurate, just wait and year and it will be flipped.
  18. Haha, calm down. People make an off-base homer statement they are going to get called on it. Seems to be the MO around here lately, make a ridiculous comment, be proven wrong by the facts and then cry about NDSU fans trolling. Edit: I get a kick out of the get a life comment on an internet message board btw. For every minute I spend here typing, you are spending a minute reading it, so it appears we both need to get a life if that is the case.
  19. Pretty big statement to say you'll beat the reigning national champ when you can't hold a team to under 40 points.
  20. Not in the playoffs when it counts, we had our guys healthy and that is the difference from season to season.
  21. When UND starts making playoff runs and wins a national championship, let's have this conversation again. Teams DO NOT want to schedule NDSU OOC in the FCS. We have had numerous teams back out and many others who won't even pick up the phone when NDSU calls. We have been through this 100 times, I don't see why it is so hard to understand.
  22. Ok, how is that different than how NDSU has handled scheduling? Montana is technically OOC, but UND has a natural in road to get that game scheduled due to your conference affiliation. That schedule looks pretty similar to the way NDSU schedules, not sure where the differences are? 2008 OOC for NDSU compares to this year for UND. Austin Peay, Central Connecticut and Wyoming. 2009 Iowa State, Sam Houston State, Wagner. Looks like a wash to me, if not NDSU having a more difficult second year of transition schedule due to the FBS game.
  23. Who has UND scheduled OOC that you feel your scheduling has been superior to NDSU's?
  24. I realize we could have this conversation for many, many years and still not agree on things and I am fine with that. But please realize that you are a fan of the other side of one of the biggest rivalries in the entire country and your opinion of Bison fans, however objective you may feel you are being, is skewed.
  25. I hate to be mean-spirited about it all, but technically NDSU is superior to all of it's peers. Being reigning national champs and all that is a bragging right NDSU fans get to carry with them until a new champion is crowned.
