  1. My untrained take aways. 1. My first thought was that Forbert looked so much more confident with the puck but I didn't notice him much after that. 2. Rocco was very good. He is going to be very hard to control. The ease at which it can take HARD passes was neat. I think having him on the weak side wing is going to open up the power play quite a bit. There was one shift where he really got knocked of the puck easily but he cut that shift short and went down the tunnel. Not sure what that was about.
  2. How about this guy? http://mwehl.stats.p...3&seasonid=6812 Thought this was kind of interesting..Ryan Mantha is the son of Moe Mantha, former NHL defenseman and Windsor Spitfires GM.
  3. I don't blame him either. It's not any diffent than David Toews or Feinhage. Both were fairly high draft picks and knew that their ice tim was going to be limited going forward. Cichy, Breaunateau (sp), Hill to name a few more. The only complaint I have is people using commitments for bargaining leverage. Once they do come I think forwards should stay for at least two years and d for 3 but that is purely for developmental reasons. I personally think there aren't a lot of players ready for the jump directly to the NHL before then. Of course I would like everyone to stay all four years, but if they are really ready before then, more power to them.
  4. I believe it was broken in three places. I don't know how you even hang in to the stick like that.
  5. Who knows what exactly the performance bonuses are and of course I'm sure he has to make the big club but it would be tough to turn down the contract. $2.8 million cap hit is easily the largest out there for an entry level contract. http://capgeek.com/players/display.php?id=2225
  6. I haven't looked but I would guess that College Hockey Inc would have something fairly well organized. I'm bored and took the time to look. http://collegehockeyinc.com/pages/former-collegians-nhl-2011-12
  7. I could be wrong but I was thinking that Windsor traded away Jordan's rights for Pat Sieloff (Miami commit) Edit: I am wrong, Sieloff was part of the Jack Campbell trade.
  8. +1 but it doesn't mean I won't wake up hoarse on Saturday morning from yelling at the TV!
  9. What did Mario get the 10 for? The only thing they said on TV was that he shot the puck after the whistle. I'm curious because Kristo only got 2 for it (was it last week?). I also thought NBC Sports was great! The did a great job of showing the college game. I also loved it when Pierre gave everyone's college when he was doing the NHL highlights. I also LOVED the HD I did think it was funny though that after Pattyn's goal they had assists going to Mac and Dicken on the top of the screen.
  10. He is hurt now but I believe he has played in most of their games when healthy. Early in the year I read an article that he was on the Sens "shut down" pairing. Edit: Looking at his minutes he is probably 2nd or 3rd pair but he has been hurt the last month
  11. I thought Jones was accelerating his education and would be a 2012.
  12. I know I have read it somewhere too. I think it came up when there started to be a lot of conversation about how young kids were starting to commit to schools.
  13. Looking at the trade it isn't like Medicine Hat gave up the farm to get him. A lower level forward who had the worst +/- on the team plus a conditional pick doesn't exactly say that say to me that they think they will get him for sure. Here's hoping...
  14. Agree. If my understanding is correct didn't the Big 12 implode because one school had the TV contract and revenue? In my opinion that was the best football conference and maybe top five in basketball as well. There should have been plenty of money to go around. Having Notre Dame would have been very nice for the conference but if it would have taken the NCHC to a similiar position as the Big 12 it would not have been good for the conference members.
  15. What does it take for St Clair to become eliglble? Is there any chance he could be available for the second semester? And what about DiPuma, the guy (I can't think of his name) that committed to the Sioux last summer but he didn't make it through the clearing house, I thought that Brad had said he was in school too. The reason I ask is, didn't Dicken start out not making it through the clearing house too and then came in at semester break.
  16. From Chris Peters: Windsor traded for the rights to Pat Seiloff - D- U18 who is committed to Miami. My read on that is that the Schmaltz's told Windsor where to stick it, so they needed to find a new target for next year. Hopefully Miami can hold on to him.
  17. Read this about Ryan Norman on GPL. Does anyone know anything about Ryan Norman? He seems to be the next big thing at Shattuck...at least in terms of how dominant he has been as a youngster. He's the son of former Hill-Murray and NoDak player Todd Norman. He has grown up here (I've seen both Roseville and Maplewood listed as residence) but has played little youth hockey in the area. He came to prominence playing on a dominant youth team in St. Louis coached by former NHL defenseman Al MacInnis. MacInnis' son Ryan and a kid named Blake Clarke, who is the youngest player in the USHL this year with Fargo were a couple of the other stand outs on this team.
  18. It seems I recall more saying that they wish they would have stayed instead of leaving early.
  19. Keep posting!!! I'm at a wedding and this is the only way I can keep up on what's going on. Thanks
  20. Their roster wasn't posted... same as the Boston's
  21. Quickly looking at collegehockeystats.net I only looked at the schools I thought would be in contention and many teams didn't have rosters posted. Drafted Players on Roster tUMTC - 17 UND - they have 14 but Simpson isn't marked and is St Clair drafted? so 15/16 Michigan - 11 Miami - 9 Wisc - 8 UMD - 5 CC - 4 Maine - 4 UNH - 2 Mankato - 2 Bemidji - 1
  22. 8 > 5 (for after Saturday's game)
  23. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought if the second guy gets tossed it is a delay of game penalty.
