  1. Have tickets been sent out yet? I plan on going regardless and am looking for tickets but most places don't list seat assignments. We've been to Providence, Columbus, Milwauke, St Louis and Denver. I sure would love to see the Sioux in the X. If anyone could help me out with extra's that would be great!
  2. Article also says that Schmaltz is committed for next fall.
  3. Very cool. Unfortunately it looks like half the team didn't get the memo and shaved right before the picture. Some good ones, but Mario looks like a Chimo.
  4. Move Nelson up. Since Kristo either stick handles around 4 guys then has his shot blocked or turns the puck over no one else on that line gets to touch the puck anyway. I know he is very talented but I think he needs to learn to play with out the puck and use his teamates, especally at even strength. It is not unusual to see him waving his stick or tapping the ice calling for the puck. It drives me crazy! Sat against Denver he skated straight over to Blook and I thought he was going to steal the puck from him. Once Kristo realized he wasn't going to get it he made a good play and took off up ice and Blood hit him for a break away. End Vent.
  5. I was on the other side of the ice but from the body language of both sides, I don't think there was any hostile conversation either.
  6. Per Heisenberg Welcome aboard JT Miller and Stephan Matteau!!
  7. I'm going to have to disagree a little with this. I think Leddy's signing is purely a salary cap issue. The Blackhawks are going to need all the cheap defenseman they can get. Whether he plays with the big boys or replaces someone in the AHL who does, Chicago needs to restock the shelves. ...but don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Leddy wouldn't be better prepared if he played for UND
  8. I wish Eades the best as well but wouldn't mind seeing still him behind our bench too. Brad Berry is in the building, any thoughts of him coming back? Steve Johnson is also in the area and back in coaching. Not saying they have to hire someone local but I like the Sioux family connections and experience.
  9. Yet you hold it up with enough pride to use it in your screen name. It is not just a "nickname", there is so much PRIDE, HONOR, TRADITION and EXCELLENCE behind the Bison. Try to get a serious group together to change the Bison, you will get the chance to see some of your opponents defend these noble traits to their very core. There is a real LOVE for the BISON by their fans, just like the SIOUX and their fans.
  10. One of the ways I measure a defenseman is how little I notice him. LaPointe has been invisible for awhile. He will be missed. Get well. All of Sioux Nation is thinking of you.
  11. If the Sioux beat Mankato tonight, does Mankato drop out of the TUC list? And what effect does that have on the pairwise? I'd have to think it would hurt the Sioux by losing a 3-1 record against a TUC team.
  12. This thread got me to thinking, I went to the SiouxShop website and they have a black authentic (non-swift) jersey. Does the team even wear this style anymore?
  13. I thought your quotes may have been taken out of context but after reading the link they are not. I can't believe Chambers would write something like that. I haven't read a lot of his stuff but I thought he seem decent. I feel sorry for the Post.
  14. I agree that this may be the most talented team - top to bottom - in awhile. I love watching the top end guys play for the Sioux as much as the next guy. How fast can you name the last first round pick prior to Parise? I had trouble with it because prior to Parise I think there were only 6 first rounders that played for the Sioux. If you look at those Parise and after, the Sioux were fortuate to have geography on their side (Oshie - who I believe was a surprise, Lee - Moorhead, Zajac - Winnipeg) and some luck (I have to believe that Toews playing with Chorney was a major reason he came here, wasn't he the #1 pick in the WHL draft.). Parise was probably the biggest actually recruiting "win". It just isn't realistic to expect first round picks every year or even every few years. 1. Fighting Sioux or not we are in North Dakota. 2. A large recruiting area for us is Canada where a lot of the top end picks go the MJ route. 3. I would bet that most of high end players that go to college either are on the USNDT or are from the MLPS metro area. Michigan and the east get the USNDT and UMTC (it pains me to admit) most times can have their pick of players from that area. But the coaching staff has still assembled strong talent the last couple of years, just look at the number of draft picks. Most or tied for most (I think) the last couple of years. And the last first round pick was David Hale. I'm embarassed to admit I had to look it up.
  15. I would speculate that they are going to push one of the forwards (Knight) into 2010. A. that would help even out the classes a little better. B. It leaves two forwards and one defensemen as healthy scratches next year.
  16. My impulse guess was Forney but I see he played (and got points) those nights. I admit I don't know much about him but he seems to be doing well in Green Bay. I wouldn't mind seeing him get another chance now that he seems to be healthy.
  17. No offense but if that is a gopher fight...
  18. I've still had streaks in my shorts that look better.
  19. The St Charles\St Louis article linked above says his dad's name is Ralph. I'm going to have to do some research on this Mal guy though, you've got me curious
