  1. I don't want to be "the glass is half empty" but I don't see us getting him. I think it was the HF article that talked about his biggest deciding factor on choosing a college would be playing time right away. We only will lose Finley and Jonesy next year. Both of the defensemen set to come in could have come last year but played an extra year of juniors (which I think is good) and both seem to be having good years so far. If MacWilliam and Gleason continue to play well they should be able to come next year. I don't see someone with the hype Olsen is getting waiting another year. And I don't see us carrying eight defensemen. Right now I think we have room for another foward, maybe two next year. Is there any chance they would move Chay off of the blueline? That being said, I don't think Hak and Co would waste their time recruiting someone they didn't have room for. So in Hak we Trust.
  2. I think cases like this are one of the problems that the "gentleman's agreement" in recruiting creates. In my opinion, If the big name schools wouldn't make offers so soon 1) the highest quality kids (who want to go the NCAA route) would still wait for offers from the big schools and 2) it would take away a lot of the leverage players like this would have in the MJ drafts. What would scare MJ teams more? Commitments to UND, Minnesota, Michigan, BC, etc or a commitment to Mercyhurst or Robert Morris. I'll admit I don't know a lot about MJ but I would be doubtful of college hockey "stealing" a lot of kids from MJ and visa versa. If the want to go a certain route that's the way they are going to go. In theory, I like the gentleman's agreement but may be it create a case of "Be careful what you wish for"
  3. http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/...mp;lid=tab2pos2 Here is a link to the goal. My opinion is that whatever the call on the ice was should have stood.
  4. As soon as Kozek scored (and I got over my initial excitement) I started yelling for him not to skate towards the boards. Earlier I was retelling the story of the hit Porter took from the team after he scored his goal and how the glass swayed back and forth a couple of feet. I just didn't want anyone to get hurt!
  5. If anyone's interested...I was just poking around and found "Last Minute Deals" on Travelocity.com. Flying out of Fargo Sat Morn and Back Monday morning including a hotel for $219 per person. I would go if I could but have plans.
  6. Looks like the Big 10 schools have higher academic standards.
  7. Against Duluth - I'd take Miller. That guy can score from ANYWHERE!
