Well yeah... with our new retractable roof stadium opening in 2020, that seems pretty obvious.

This still applies "The games are being played, that's a start. I'm willing to bet that whatever AD we have and whatever AD NDSU has in 2017 will be able to have a civil discussion about renewing some part of the rivalry in a home-home model following the 2019 games." Although, you've never been a fan of the current administration and this is another chance for you to spread the doom and gloom message.

It's a shame this post was glossed over. Clearly, everyone remembers this right? I mean, back to back games at UND meant the end of the world for Bison fans, yes? No? People don't remember? Huh, kinda like in 2030 when nobody will remember there were two games back to back in Fargo. The games are being played, that's a start. I'm willing to bet that whatever AD we have and whatever AD NDSU has in 2017 will be able to have a civil discussion about renewing some part of the rivalry in a home-home model following the 2019 games.

I believe Dressler is too old for the practice squad however Hardin could make it onto a team that way and impress from there

We don't need everything thread filled with your what-if scenarios, please.

Oh dear lord. What type of laptop not built in 1999 has s-video? No wonder people complain about the quality of the stream.

I don't think there is anything not to like from the WCHA Commish, which is why I said I think it will happen. Barring another western team joining d1 ncaa hockey at the same time, I see SFU going to the WCHA. If they, and another school with some investment in hockey decide to go D1, I see them joining the NCHC as that conference is obviously looking for more members. After rejecting Notre Dame due to unrealistic requests, the NCHC is in a position of picking and choosing schools they want. I think western schools would be an excellent opportunity for the conference to expand into areas that don't have a lot of college hockey fans. Why let the WCHA grab SFU (and let's say another northwest team) when the NCHC wants that market? Edit: Basically, forget what i said about needing two teams to join. I think SFU would join the NCHC even if they're the only western team making the jump. A 9 team schedule isn't ideal but that western market is huge for any conference. I'm still curious if the moratorium has been lifted on individual teams going d1.

Due to the wide range of broadcast qualities and the cost involved, the most the nchc can do is strongly encourage schools to upgrade. Und, Miami, DU and SCSU have the highest quality video. Fortunately, UMD will improve some with FSN games. CC will get better as they made upgrades. WMU needs help and a lot of it.

What subpar and continual issues? If it works great for some people and not for others... Whose issue is that? The signal from UND to Neulion is the same for everyone, yet somehow Neulion is only sending a signal that works for some people? We are all accessing the same stream at Neulion. The only difference is the speed of each persons Internet and the speed of each persons computer. How is Neulion supposed to fix that?

I'm excited for the NCAA teams to sprout up in Austria and Germany since MTU traveled there a few years ago! Not saying SFU and UBC is a longshot, I actually think it will happen. But those schools happen to be surrounded by teams in the BCHL. Check out UNDs roster from the past decade and you'll notice players from that league. I'd say the trip was more about recruiting and exposure versus playing a club team who may go d1. What happened to the moratorium on non d1 teams moving just one or two teams up to d1?
-
Actually, last year only four of the eight schools were through Neulion. Those four schools themselves, not Neulion, decided to share the video with opposing teams fans. The goal is to have all 8 but there are issues with DU. The 7 schools would no longer host on their website but link to NCHC site. It is similar to how the mountain west operates their digital network. Contracts aren't finished so it's not set in stone but it will happen.
-
UND needs to dump Neulion if I can't stream it glitch free while I'm "borrowing" my neighbors internet from my bomb-proof bunker.
-
Or those colleges would have to abide by current NCAA rules.
-
It was known for a long time that as soon as the Big Ten gained a sixth team, they would have to form a conference. Not quite Nostradamus there.
-
And in Atlantic Hockey, which only has 11 teams after losing UConn. You really think a conference made up of MAC schools is going to invite UAH? I suppose eventually one of your million posts about potential conference alignment will be right and we'll never hear the end of just how right you were, despite those other 999,999 posts that were wrong.

I'm not a fan of the new quoting style on mobile. It doesn't show the original posters name in a quoted post

I actually prefer the webstream. It's in HD and played nearly flawlessly all of last season on multiple devices in several locations.
-
They likely will have something similar if they're just pulling the in-house feed. All schools with in-arena videoboards have some sort of generic graphic they put up during dead time. It's the same way with Air Force hockey's webcast as well.
-
The NCHC has been encouraging the schools to improve their webcasts because now it will reflect on them. I know CC invested more money in upgrading their in-arena cameras and equipment and in turn, their stream.
-
Schlossman posted in the comments on his blog that there will be more info on TV options for fans. I'm curious if the conference was able to do some work on the exclusivity clause like I've been saying they would try to do. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out.

I miss the days of the big, bulky jerseys. They looked so good on my standard def tv
-
If I remember correctly, the previous scoreboard was 4x3 and this one is 16x9. It likely means additional upgrades have taken place to improve the cameras and other equipment in order to send the 16x9 feed to that board. I'm a little biased but I think an in-house video board does wonders for the fans. I don't think it will necessarily improve the atmosphere but being able to see replays just like at home can sway some people to go to games.

Better start the "Fire Bubba" thread for the same reason

So you posted about them not being solid and cited their wins since the 90s. But then followed up a post with the sentence "But that's last year." Makes a lot of sense...

And when you're done there, you can get much better beer at one of a dozen other breweries in town
