  1. Correct. In Colorado, there is now Root Sports and Altitude. Root replaced FSN-RM and airs Rockies games. Altitude carries Avs and Nuggets games.
  2. They may not win more games, but you would think they would have to travel less for OOC games. I'd imagine the MWC would also be in that 2nd tier, so there are a lot more busable games for both of those teams.
  3. He won't need to tackle since he'll have the ball with all those inerceptions
  4. Nope, you're correct. Air Force scheduled two FCS teams last year, meaning they needed 7 wins to be bowl eligible.
  5. No, we would be at #8 and tied for #21 overall if we were undefeated.
  6. I'm not happy about that either as I relied on FCS to watch all home games. However, that is 350 days away. UND knows how important the national exposure is to both the program and the fans. UND has been on the front end of getting their sports broadcast nationally and I have faith they will expand the agreement with CBSSN to something similar to Root Sports and the BSC. P.s. Don't be so dramatic. UND hockey isn't gone permanently if nothing changes in the next year.
  7. The contract isn't even in effect yet, but you say it's damaging the nationwide exposure? Give it some time and something can likely be worked out. There is still a full year before it goes into effect. Wow... You have two completely different problems in this post. One is about the regionality of the broadcasts. That has absolutely nothing to do with Midco and everything to do with FCS deciding to not air football, volleyball, etc. You're forgetting that every home hockey game (except the U18 exhibition) is scheduled to air nationally on FCS. That sound pretty regional to me... The other issue is the picture and broadcast quality. Mido may not be new to producing sports, but some of the crew is new to working together. They have a new producer who is very familiar with college sports and even attended UND, however there is a learning curve to putting on live tv. Feel free to spout how you think this year sucks compared to the past, but realize that the crew from the past had been doing live sports for a dozen years. The quality of Midco will pick up once all the bugs are figured out. Don't compare the first few games this year to the last few games of last year... it's completely unfair. Compare the first couple games of FSSN to the Midco games and they're a lot closer than you expect. Midco will figure out how to get into all of the smaller cable systems. The producer, director and camera operators will get on the same page and things will be much smoother. I produce and direct live sports for a much bigger audience than UND hockey, I know how many things need to go right to make a good production. Swapping out just one camera operator can change the quality of the entire broadcast. Throw in trying to send the signal out to several companies (and them properly receiving it) and it's more than understandable that there are technical issues early on. Be patient. I'm outside of the Midco market too and am disappointed I can't watch the games... but I know that it will improve and get better. Plus, UND sucks the first half of the year, so it's practically not even worth watching til January
  8. Let's hear it how difficult the MVFC is. and the Big Sky is down this year. Discuss.
  9. Regardless of whether people make their dissatisfaction know, the broadcasts are going to continue to improve. As a very, very experienced sports producer and director, I know what it takes to put on an excellent show. The company, Midcontinent knows how to put together good broadcasts. The new staff (even though some of them are the same people from WDAZ) will take some time to gel. The camera people will soon know what shots they need. The director will soon know they can trust those camera people. The replay people will know how to fully operate the systems. The announcers will understand the names and will continue to research the history of the team. The production team will understand the best way to send out the signal to both local companies and FCS. It takes some time to get all of the pieces together. I hope you're criticizing the team as much as Midco, because UND is nothing like they've been in the past. That doesn't mean they won't be better than last year. It just takes time to put everything together and make sure everyone knows their job and how to do it well. The broadcasts will get better. Don't compare it to other schools because it's nothing like other schools.
  10. That call on 3rd and 1 with the deep pass and then not going for it on 4th and 1 was a horrible decision. I said it before the punt went to the 1. Our D can't stop $hit and our offense was moving fairly well, even with the run to that point. You gotta go for it, push it to at least a field goal and take the lead back.
  11. A step back for what will ultimately be a step forward. It was going to take a long time for WDAZ to broadcast in HD. Midco will be there in a year or two. Remember that Sweeney has been following UND hockey closely for 20+ years. It's going to take some time for Hammer and company to get some familiarity with the team and with the production techniques. Very few people know how much work it takes to make a seamless live sport broadcast for 3 hours. They will undoubtedly figure it out, learn from mistakes and progress. Settle the f down people. It will get better and you'll have a much better feed and production than WDAZ would be able to provide.
  12. I love that all of the games are streamed online, home and away. Whether they are crappy feeds or not, it is great for those of us out of state. I haven't missed a game this year and am stoked to see the team once again at UNC.
  13. 3-0 sweep. Pretty good for a team who doesn't look like they are any good either.
  14. Listening to the radio, the fans get much louder when UND scores compared to NDSU. Great to hear the fan turnout! 1,413 fans at the game... 10th largest attendance in NDSU Vball history.
  15. 6 point run to end set 2 for UND to take the 2-0 lead with a 25-21 win.
  16. We all got our hopes up after Hendrickson shined vs Portland and SDSU and we outplayed Sacramento. Just like Youngstown, it seems we played way better in the first couple games but once people saw some film, everyone realized we aren't as good as advertised. It's not to say we're bad, just not quite good all around. We need better D more than anything. The frustrating thing for us is that D is our pride and we haven't played well. You're pretty good at taking shots at UND even whilte drunk.
  17. Does he need the injury if he's not 100%? I think it's a good idea to keep him out if we're down 31. Although, I don't like us punting on 4th and 1.
  18. Anyone else find it awkward how everyone pronounces the Big Sky? They really put the emphasis on "sky." It seems weird.
  19. It only took you 40 minutes from your last post til this one... is that how long it took you to google the name of the D coordinator for the team 70 miles north of the one you cheer for?
  20. You are the city on a hill of UND fans. If anyone was going to lead us into a new excitement for the rest of the season, it clearly is you. I sir, am glad to call you a fellow fan!
  21. Having been on the field at Boise while they wear blue, you really don't notice it. It's a lot more difficult for cameras and fans but on the field you don't look at the ground all that often.
  22. Squib it from now on please.
  23. They've called a lot of bubble screens since he has been in. Gives him confidence in completing short passes. Also brings the corners up to the line so the WRs can burn them deep.
  24. TD. Smart play by a very tall dude.
  25. I agree completely. They have 2 more downs to get 1/4 of a yard although I think Hansen was in on the last play.
