  1. Geez... Either Wild fans are swamping the Denverpost or Avs fans are the biggest group of fair weather fans in the world, but on that poll only 900 fans said the avs would win in any shape for form and it looks as if 13000 wild fans have chimed in or Avs fans have turned sides. HEHEHEHE
  2. Hooooly Jugdesh.... Thats a goal 48 seconds. They cant even score that often in Basketball.
  3. Dont fret... It will be on...Just remember it was unexpected that the Wild were going to make it this far, so as far as the Wild are concerend if they lose tonight big deal!!! So the pressure all lies on the Avs and it depends how the Avs respond to that pressure. If they rise to it the Wild are in trouble, but if they get at all nervous and the Wild put a quick one or two on the board the Avs will be in for a long summer. Go Wild....I want a Devils / Wild Final....but then I would have to roll over on the Wild and go for my #1 team. Go Devils Go Wild Choke Avs!!
  4. I am sure Hale, Senja, and Stevenson got rather healthy contracts thrown at them. Senja was probably highly sought after and I am sure will not have to worry about money for the next few years. I know the Devils offered Hale a the biggest contract ever to a first round pick (Million + ??) Wouldnt you leave school if some one was going to pay you a million dollars to do what your good at? I would.... Any one want to pay me to fly an airplane?? I need a job
  5. I think part of the reason that the Wild are keeping up with the Avs is that they have nothing to loose. For a 3rd year team making the playoffs is a victory. No one really expected them to even be there, now they go out and win Game 1 against the Avs in their house. Really if the Avs had come back and won the next 4 games every Wild fan would still look back at see a great season. Now its game 7. If the Avs win... OK they were supposed to take this series in 4 or 5 games and they should have gotten it done sooner. If the Wild wins it may be a bigger upset than Ducks v. Wings. If the Wild come out there just to play to win and dont put the pressure on themselves that the Avs are going to have put on them the Wild could take it. Its game 7 it could go either way... I don't care what all the sports people say. Right now the Wild can win this just as "easilly" as the Avs can. On a serperate note.. How great has the Toronto - Philly series been. Just great... I love it OLD TIME HOCKEY!!!!!!!!! Tonight is a great night for Hockey... Toronto v Philly then Wild v. Avs with St. Louis / Canucks thrown into the mix... I love it.
  6. Remember that the Wild are (is) a very new team, as with any expansion team they start off with a bunch of players that the other teams dont want on their first 3 lines. Over time they will have some higher budget players but for now they are doing fine... No one expected the Wild to be in the playoffs in the beginning of the season and to take the AVs to Game 6 is very promising. I am not saying the Wild will go all the way, but Lemaire has won a cup with a similar team (NJ). When Jersey won that first cup they had Brodeur as thier main player and that was really it. The Devils of that year was a very defensive team granted with more size than the wild but that will come. Wild fans should be very happy with their team this year... No complaints.
  7. LETS GO DEVILS!!!! Good night Boston... Who's next?
  8. That doesn't count... Your going to have to take a bigger hit than that. Give up Vanek or Potulny and then come talking to us about losses. Loosing a freshman that has been out all year doesnt count.
  9. Thanks Northstar. Good to see Grant go. Good For Grant and UND. Baaaaad for MSU. Ahhh well. As for UAA, UW, and MTU they need all the help he can get!!!!! Let's GO Vanek. hehehehehehehee
  10. Sure Will do... but the Gopher football team needs all the help it can get. As for the fleet center....That would be cool too if the Gophers make it that far! And I will keep posting here simply becuase I will have no other good road to all the good inside dirt on the team.
  11. Thats a sqiud??? I though it was some sort of an extraterrestrial sasquatch.
  12. Booooooo.... You had to go ruin my fun. Ah well Mankato still doesnt deserve the pornstars.
  13. What about the people that were already in 111 that they made move... Im sure those people arent very happy either?
  14. Great Post JWG It really is a shame I am graduating this year and moving back to New Jersey I would love to see the Gopher games next year and I am still a little pissed that the WCHA screwed all of us and didnt bring the Gophers to REA. The Gophers had (have) a great team and the rivalry in College hockey may only be surpassed by the Beanpot. I say the Beanpot because that is 4 schools that all trully hate each other... Great stuff. If I wasnt a Sioux fan I would probably like the Gophers more than I do... They do play a great style of game, I can't stand the "dirty type" play of Denver and friends. I wish the Gophers luck next year, but just enough luck so that they go down to the Sioux in the Final Five and Then the Frozen Four, and finally break that "winning" streak in REA... That has to end!
  15. Cindy became a porn star? I thought the Brady Bunch was supposed to demonstrate good family values. And hey Mankato would never be lucky enough to have porn stars running around.... We dont even have that in Grand Forks. Maybe U of M has pornstars, but not us.
  16. Damn... and UMD said that UND plays weak non conference teams. The only good teams they play is during that ice breaker tourney. BSU, BGSU and Union.... Awwww C'mon really. And they wondered why St. Cloud got into the tournement and UMD didn't. UMD looks to finish off the season with a real tough stretch. At Mankato, Minnesota, at CC, and UND that will make or break the season, but finisher to Wisconsin look to be of similar calibre to UND finishing with Tech unless UW turns it around hardcore next year.
  17. One last chance is BS. Its a stacked deck. No matter what the students do they will move is if they want to. The Standing up excuse is just that... an excuse. There are other motives ($) here not just other peolples ability to see the game. Stop the BS its obvious there are big financial gains to be made by moving ticket holders to center ice. They might as well say it, in my eyes Roger Thomas has already put a ding in his integrity, he handed as small group of students (The green hair'um and some others including myself) to impossible task of controlling the student section from with-in. It really was only about 50 or so students sitting in the far side of section of 109 that would stand for most of the game. Other wise students as a whole tend to stand for powerplays and other critical moments that everybody esle should probably stand too. Its depressing when the building get really loud during a commercial break and when the red light goes off everybody sits down and shuts up... pitiful, but I digress. If REA wanted to control those students they could have played the "bad cop" and started to boot some people out, but its really not fair to expect 10 or so students to control the student section. Be realistic.
  18. Breaking up Parise and Bochenski might not be a bad idea. When you have your 2 best players on one line the opponent puts out their best D, and Checking line. If you now break those guys up teams are going to have to give one of the lines a little room. Might just be crazzzzzy Enough to work!!!
  19. I lost count on how many puck skidded across the goal crease or trickled behind the goalie and never when in the net. A good net-crash would really make more "luck" in those situations.
  20. I have always wondered why arenas put up black netting behind the net. White nets would blend in much better. I would much rather have to look through a net than have to look over the net.
  21. Interesting way to finish the season. I think CC will have some major problems next year with the losses of Cullen, Clarke, Preissing, and Sejna (OUCH) but the we have to have to go too MSU and UMD. Those games will be a dog fight probably having huge impacts on the first 4 positions in the WCHA. (Im guessing they will be UND, U of M, UMD, and MSU-Mankato, in no particular order) But then we have the relatively easy game to close out the season. I know that Tech has beaten us before on home ice but compared to the 2 prior weeks that will be a cake walk, but those games will be critical as well. I tried to find the Gophers, Mavs, Bulldogs 03 Sched to no avail in anyone has any info... please share. I think the WCHA will get real interesting next year.
  22. I fully intend on coming back next year for a series, Goopher might be a stretch but you never know tickets can be come by! Even though can we trust the Gopher fans throwing darts between our legs? WPoS ,I think we can trust due to the fact that he is the Creator of the game and would not cheapen it by a dart to the testes. Some of the other ones (sorry Yellowdog, I have to drop your name here) might very well go for the junk. You have to pick your opponents carefully.
  23. Nah... Yellowdog's post just supports the reasons I don't like Yellowdog. Remember there are other Gopher types here that are good to have around. WPoS and Squirel come to mind first the other ones know who they are. I was also thinking that it would make for some great fun and a little mayhem to have a full chat room on this site. Now that would be fun, I would probably sit there every waking hour. Just some food for thought to Admin and company.
  24. I don't know... I think collegehockeystats.com had some lacking info. I guess your right about Lundbohm... He will just sign somewhere as a free agent when the time comes.
  25. I know but it is more fun to talk about something that will hurt the best competion than something that will hurt us. But anywhoo, It got me thinking about who else may leave.Just my humble opinion. I am NOT the great and powerful hockey swami so I may simply be talking out of my ass .... Currently Drafted---- Matt Greene (Edmonton)- Too raw needs some more seasoning before the pro-game. I think he will be a dominant D-man but he need more time. Bochenski ($Ottawa$) - Ottawa are broke, they really don't have the money to sign many prospects remember they are Bankrupt, but he Could be temping to sign go. There is a possibility but I kinda doubt it. Massen (my New Jersey Devils) Has not put up the numbers yet for the Sioux to get signed by the pros yet. Highly doubtful. I thought Schnieder was drafted but Collegehockeystats.com doesnt have him listed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably/ Definately Drafted Parise will probably go middle/end of the first round, but I don't think anyone thinks that he is ready for the pro's yet. Schnieder could go in the draft as well but I don't see him leaving. Other possible draftees include the likes of....Jonsey, Lundbohm, Marvin, and maybe Prpich could get taken up. But I don't know if any of those guys will bail early. Brady Murray could get drafted before he ever starts here and maybe Smaby or Stafford, but I still think they will show up. Hopefully we will see no one else leave for next year because I see a scary good team next year if we get the goaltending situation figured out. Oh yeah a Goalie or 2 may be moving on too, but I really dont think they will be going to the pros.
