  1. Game 7. At home. 3rd Cup in 9 years. Brodeur Pitched 3 Shut outs in the finals, and they Devils set the record for Home wins in a playoff year. I think it they were 11-1 at home. Holy Crap. Lord Stanley is Welcome in New Jersey.
  2. Im all about that. Keep local talent playing for the home town team. Great for Parise, Great for the Wild, Great for the Twin Cities.
  3. Two words..... Chris Terreri or Darren Pang
  4. Based on my New Jersey Devils bias I will bet that Broduer will retire as the best. Right now it is hard to argue against Roy but give Brodeur another 6 or 7 years and he will take Roys records. Gigure I feel is a solid goalie but he is not as good as he has been playing. The Devils have gotten thier licks on him. Hasek while a great goalie never had the team that he needed to win the cup until the very end. Brodeur is an Iron man he can play 70 games a year and win 40 of them consistently, given time he will be considered the best ever!!! But with out arguement... you better not agrue... Brodeur is the best goalie that is still playing.
  5. I really don't think the NHL has a problem with offence. There are defensive teams that are going to win 2-1 and the like, but there are offensive games that can put up 5 or 6 goals a night. It provides a great variety in the games. I honestly wouldnt change a thing about the nets or goalie equipment. The only thing I would consider in getting rid of the of the 2 line pass rule. That should open the game up and provide for a more open game therefore creating more excitement. Ah well. Have a good one everybody. Go DEVILS!!!!!!!!
  6. I tried but there was traffic and construction and what not so I gave up.
  7. I havent posted in this forum because its all been said. But I must give a big Ditto to the Sic on that one. A scholarship is by no means a binding contract for a player to play 4 years of hockey. It is an agreement that is voidable by both parties involved. The school/coach agrees to pay a cetrain percentage of a students tuition in exchange for his athletic abilities. If the student were unwilling or not able to compete long term there is no reason to pay for an education. P.S. if any one wants to know I drove from Lincon, Ne to State College Pa in one day.
  8. Two new topics appered on the REA website today. Both good things, for the first time in a while #1--- [url=http://www.ralphengelstadarena.com/pr_052103.html]UND MEN
  9. But if that article is based on fact from somewhere Bida is already gone, and it looks as if Ranfranz and Sofie have more or less been told that they will not be on the team next year. Sedevie looks to have had is scholarship pulled. That leaves Brandt, Ziggy, and Parise. That might just work!! Im sure a starter will come out of all that. I like it. It will be odd considering the fact that Zach Parise is a Sophmore and Jordan Parise is a Freshman despite the fact that he is older. I really don't know a lot about Jordan Parise but im sure he has genetics on his side!!! Jordan Parise is also a giant for Fighting Sioux goalies. 5-11 200 lbs thats massive considdering Blais' like for tiny goalies!
  10. What we need here is some local area verification. Somebody help... There always seems to be some one who is in the "know" about these issues but this one has confused all of us. Coach Blais-or anyone else-- If you read this please chime in... Whats going on between the pipes?
  11. I'm sorry to break the news to you Handy... Demarchi is no Angel. Just like Greene did for the Sioux this year he has played in a manner that attracts the refs attention. I would be willing to guarentee that at the beginning of the season Demarchi took some stupid penalies and might have gone overboard and the refs remember that all season long. It don't think that the refs dont talk to eachother. Greene did the same thing, he went overboard on the physicality early in the year and got the refs attention. Its just the way it is. There are also players on teams that can get away with Murder simply because they know the art of timing and doing things when the refs are not looking.
  12. Why does the WCHA need to be a NHL ref farm team. Doesnt the AHL serve in that respect already, granted I think the better ref talent could be beneficial. SARCASTIC SOAPBOX AHEAD----DO NOT TAKE SERIOUSLY!! I think the WCHA should make a commitment to bring in international refs who dont know a thing about US college hockey. Some of the WCHA refs are too close to some schools and it shows in the games. In a trial if the Judge has any relationship to either party he must recuse himself due to a risk of biasing the decision. The same should go with College hockey, what does Ref Vitaly Flamenchencko from Vladivostok care about college hockey. It would be nice and fair, plus the ref wouldnt be able to understand when the coaches bitch them out. It might just be crazy enough to work!
  13. What about Genoway? I know he was fairly innefective last year but what about all hype that was associated with him If I recall he was very highly touted, and I know Blais brought him in as a red shirt which is kind of rare for the team. The only inference I can take from that is the Blais thought that Genoways development would be better served by being under Blais' wing instead of the USHL. I think he definately has potential for a vast improvement next year.
  14. Im calling a break-out year for Massen, I dont know why but I feel it.
  15. Do not fret Wild fans. Just remember the fact that the Wild were not supposed to be there in the first place. The Avs were supposed to beat them and the Canucks were going to finish them off after a tough series. As a 3rd years team no one expected the Wild to get as far as they did, even the Wild fans. If they had lost to the Avs in 5 in the first round it would have been expected. Unfortunately the Wild playoff run ran into the ROBO-Goalie with puck-seeking over sized plans!! And Robo-goalie had taken down Detroit and Dallas before the Wild ever got there, sorry the deck was stacked against the Wild on this one. Great season Wild, the is really going to solidify the team in St. Paul, the fans now have playoff memories and some rivalries that will last a long time. I know there was no love lost between Vancouver and Minnesota, but now fans will be treated to some great games in the future. As far as Im concernced, the Wild playoff run has done so much for the franchise long term that it assures future success for this team. But now I must say..... LETS GO DEVILS
  16. Nah... Im an Avaition Psychologist!! Major in Psyc and minor flying planes. Im not smart enough to be an engineer, I can barely put together a shelving unit!!
  17. Thanks Glenn who ever you are. I think I am blind from all the stats. You have thought of stats that I have never even considdered!!! Good deal!!!
  18. Thanks guys... Ill stick around on the board when I am back home.
  19. I sure hope so. And It would give me great pleasure to watch the Devils beat down the Quacks. And break down Giggy any make him cry. But and I say but... Anaheim and Giggy keep this shut out thing going any team will have problems beating them.
  20. I am going to bite my tounge on this one, because I just found out that I passed all my classes and I actually will graduate on Saturday. But.... Assigned Seats = Empty Seats... And How are these seats going to be assigned. Will friends be able to sit together? Not smooth
  21. So basically the Wild are in deep doo-doo. As for Giggy being in a the Wild's head... I don't know if any team would be able to play through Giggys unhuman play. It happened to Detroit, and Dallas except the fact that Dallas seemed to put a few "chinks in the armor". I honestly thought that Giggy was going to collapse after Dallas lit him up in Game 4 but he got a good nights sleep and hasnt been beaten since. Crap he has faced 96(?) shots against the Wild and has seen a damn puck go behind him. Nuts Last night I was just hoping for one damn goal, but I guess that was a little too much to ask.
  22. This guy is inhuman. 3 straight shut outs. WTF!!! Even my mild mannered girlfriend has been secretly plotting doing something horrible and temporarily debilitating to Giggy. Her plans have ranged from Mace to Firearms and even electric shock. Even a Toyna Harding-esqe attack would be in order. Giggy is playing insanely well, A goal...A goal... my kingdom for a goal... JUST ONE FREGGIN GOAL!!!!
  23. Maybe he CB reads this board and saw what I said about a month ago about travelling to Slovakia or some where out there and bring back some unknown goalie that will rule all. (I dont think Hasek ever went to college!)
