  1. Hey does any one know what happend to POI... I wanted to go over there and see the gloating, but a screen comes up saying its not avail.
  2. Could it be the Stealthy return of SIOUXROCK. DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM He has returned to seek revenge on the board that banned him. Help us all!!!!!
  3. I figured thats the way it was. With the riots and all. Hey WPoS... Beerdarts rules! Maybe there should be a Sioux beerdarts team? Or are we not "Worthy" of beer dats. Screw that Sioux Gopher hockey game I want Sioux / Gopher Beerdarts. Ps.. Are you the "inventor"? Oh yeah... as for Vanek's Dad, Im sure that just looked bad, I was in no way implying that Vanek is the son of a Nazi. It obviously was just an excited parent.
  4. That was a little interesting to say the least. I hope it was unintentional. Im sure if UND students really wanted to riot they could find somewhere to do it. Plus Booze makes you do odd things. And the weather in Grand Forks is INSANE today. The past week has been gorgeous in the Grand Cities. I think we deserve it though, when its been freggin cold for as long as it has been I think we deserve it. The real kicker is the the Mosquitoes have yet to spawn so you can actually go out side to enjoy the weather.
  5. Rioting at U of M It is a shame that a great victory by a great team has to be marred by this BS. Everytime I see something like this on the news it confuses me. What about victory makes you want to go out side get drunk and set some KARE newvans on fire and push dumpsters throught the window of Starbucks. Bad Form I understand that the idiots that did this are a vast minority of Gopher fans but it still pisses me off to know that these morons had to go out and do that. There is nothing wrong with going out and partying it up in the streets after a victory like that but there is no need to cross that line toward the criminal. The saddest part of all of this is that it seems to be a common thread with championships. I remember when OSU won the football championship there was rioting out there. Not by the team that lost and probably was at least a little justified by being pissed but by the team that won. Some Lakers fans in LA do it every time the Lakers win the Championship, sometimes I think it is a profession out there. I am sure all the crap in U of M was only perpitrated by a couple hundred of U of M students but it unfortunately looks bad for the team and school as a whole. Sorry to put a damper on the U of M fans but that sort of thing is really weak.
  6. As for the Gophers chances next year, don't count the eggs before they leave the next. After watching Vanek play in the 3rd period it dawned on me that this guy is ready for the pros. And trust me a bet a lot of the pro's were watching that game too. Vanek came in... Kicked ass... and won a national championship. If a pro team drafts him (which is definite) and them offers him a bunch of $$$ who would expect him to stay? There are also some other Gophers that I would consider as "high risk" of leaving include the likes of Tallakson, Paul Martin, maybe Riddle, maybe Koalska. I would also say Potulny might be a flight risk but I brother is coming in next year and I don't see him leaving. I am not saying that all these players are goners, but I would not shock me at all to see two or three of them leave. If I were a Gopher fan I would consider myself blessed if you get Vanek back for a second year. Great run Gophers, but lets keep the Championship in the WCHA next year too, just lets see the Green and White have it!!! I want to see the Sioux win next year (no crap) or Alaska Anchorage . I think UAA is due for the greatest turn arounds in the history of SPORTS!!! 1 win to a national championship in a year you all want to see it!!!! Chris Fornier will put give UAA the edge it needs for NCAA supremacy!!! Sorry about that... I felt the need to rip on somebody and since it would be really bad form to rip on the Gophers when they dont deserve it I decided to pick on the easist target I could think of. Sorry Seawolves.
  7. So are you going to change your name? I guess its kind of outdated. p.s. The only player on UNH that really deserved to win was Ayers. He played out of his mind for the first 45 minutes of the game but his help went away, and he obviously didnt get much on the other side of the puck.
  8. Congrats to the Gophers keeping the National Championship in the WCHA. They really outplayed UNH. Having said that... Two in a row is not a Dynasty!!! You really need to win 3 to be a dynasty. 3 out of 4 could also apply but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Second of all if you want to talk crap keep it at POI and USCHO. The Gophers won and deserved to win, they were the best team, and we already no that. So lets keep it civil. Great game U of M. Congrats
  9. The score is now 3-1 Gophers (8 minutes left in the game) U of M on Power play. Vanek is playing like he is on a mission from God. On the second U of M goal he made Ayers his Biotch. . -------------- Now Its 4-1 on the powerplay. Tallakson (sp) was sitting on the backdoor and got a great pass from Gino Guyer. Looks like the proverbial nail in the proverbial coffin.
  10. I had to say "dont know" simply because an OCCASIONAL bouncy ball game probably does well for the program, as long as it is on a week where there is no real game (hockey) at the Ralph. But the idea that was tossed around of building a seperate facility attached to the Ralph is trully dumb, we have Hyslop and thats fine. Most games dont draw 3000 fans any way.
  11. Just got done watching the show and Peter Sejna has just become the first European player to win the Hobey Hardware. Congrats... He deserved it! Not to say that Kunitz or LeNeveu didn't have great years and in LeNeveu's case insane numbers but Senja was obviously the best player in College hockey. The commitee (who ever they are) made the right choice!!!
  12. I don't hate gopher fans. I think they (most of them) provide some good conversation. I just dont like the ones that come here with the sole purpose of lighting fires. I am just bracing for the onslaught of overly jubilant Gopher fans. I am not saying that we would not do the same thing if the situations were reversed, but I know its coming. Good luck.
  13. Greyeagle voting for the Gophers... Thats a shocker.
  14. 7>4 the way its looking right now you may have to change your name to 7>5.
  15. I must throw support behing the WCHA team on this one. I know I was sitting on the fence for a while but after watching UNH play I really don't like them. Even though we all know damn well that 2 minutes after the gopher fans sober up after the national championship game they will be here knocking the Sioux for not being there. The U of M/ U of M game was really back and forth good game, really could have gone either way but Vanek caught Montoya a little off guard and put a bad angle shot passed him. I think we are in for a good game on saturday.

    Frozen Four

Yeah.... I guess that is all part of the DON ADAM hockey officating manual. ***And my no fail prediction for game 2 is that U of M will win!!!***

    Frozen Four

OK--- I really hope the winner of U of Mn vs U of Mi creams these guys. UNH is trully a dirty team (I won't Use the G word ) Looking foreward to tonights game... should be shootout.

    Frozen Four

Cornell Penalty--High Sticking... Now the question---- Is it a real penalty or did Adam just make that up???
  19. The only concerts at REA that was for the students were put on by the University Program Council not REA, REA just took credit for this last one because they were allowed to sell tickets to recoop some of the costs.

    Frozen Four

Ok... Ive come to the conclusion that I don't like UNH. One of their players just took a CHEAP shot at a player walking through an open bench door.... Dirty Dirty Dirty. UNH is a really goonish (sorry goon- no comparison intended) team, No sir I don't like it. Go Cornell... Comeback Time
  21. Parise / Bochenski / Muarry!!! The first team all american line of next year!!!!! The line of death for next year might be fun!!!!
  22. To be honest when they opened the arena and It became apperent that the students would be 30% lower bowl and 70% upper bowl (about) I thought the best way to do it was to give the students a corner wedge of the arena. Meaning 110-111 or 106-107. It is obvious that those 2 sections have wayyyyy to many seats for REA to surrender to the students. But if REA wants to keep the number of lower bowl students the same the best way to do it is 105-106. 105 has the big cut out for the zamboni door, and 106 has a handicapped section. Those sections would offer the same amount of seats and the students would not obstuct the view of other "paying" patrons at the arena. C'mon REA/ RT if you want to move the students do it fairly.
  23. It was on the right track--fan wise, but I think REA and the athletic dept took a bid step backwards with this latest move. Moving into a newer bigger building means a lot of fans that have never been to Sioux games are there now. It takes time to build atmosphere.... it will get there as long as they still allow students in the building in 2 years
  24. I dont know if a lot of you remeber last season (Boch's Freshman year) some St. Cloud fans made "Bochenski Bucks". Very creative.
  25. Well my gripes are that they moved the students with out contacting any one, and they took away lower bowl seats, but I really hard time believing that there no dollar signs involved in the decision. The seats in the corner are "coaches club seats" that involves a 1000 dollar donation to the fighting sioux club just for the right to buy tickets in that section. The center ice seat on the other side are "Directors/Emerald/Diamond Club seats and the donations for those range from 2500-10000! So even if they cut the people that had to be moved a deal and didnt require any more than the 1000 dollars. THat leaves 100 seats at the higher rate. If the average person buys 4 season tickets (one membership required for each order not for each seat) at $2500 that is atleast 62,000 dollars in extra donations at a minimum. (Source REA and Fighting Sioux Club) Now I am not saying that there were no valid complaints from people in the area, but this seems really fishy to me. The students in the most part (there were some that didnt but that will change over time) were sitting for most of the game and "behaving". THe movent to the corner is not a bad thing, back in OLD REA I used to sit down in the corner, but the loss of seats sucks. Lawkota-- Those seats were season ticket holders seat that had to be re-assigned to other areas of the arena. I spoke to a pissed of season ticket holder who didnt want to get moved from 111.
