If the Gophers keep playing like they are playing now I guarentee he will go to the pro's assuming no lock out. What motivation will a player have if he wins a national championship and the goes to the basement of the WCHA... If the NHL plays next year he will be there, unless the Gophers turn it around.

I know this is something that would be very UN-Blais-like but Brandt should be the starting goalie... period. Part of the problem that the Sioux have had with goaltending in the past 2 years is that CB would take a goalie out of the net after one bad game. Brandt needs to know that he is the guy and the team will stick with him. Not having seen him play at all I will assume that Parise is the goalie of the future, but give him 2 years to develop. It looks as if Ziggy might have fallen into a spot that he might not be able to fight his way out of in regards to becoming a starter. Jake has only gotten better.. remember that his role model in net his first year was Andy Kollar, he never had a trully successfull starting goalie to model after, and then he was the "experianced guy, if he had been under a goalie like Karl things would have been different from the get go. Also this year it looks as if the team has more faith in Brandt, and when a team has faith in their goalie they play better, they are less afraid to take chances and are more likely to play to win a game not just playing not to lose. It has taken Brandt 2 years to become the top notch starter that he was brought to UND to be, but it looks like he is it now, and should be given that role.

I mentioned this to my girlfriend the other day, and it may be a little late for this series, but it will also work for UMD, and Tech. All you need a sign that says "Puppy Love" with a picture of a dog doing its thing to another. Breed specific would be ideal, Huskies, Bulldogs, Poodles etc..

Damned- Commercials--- They just came back from break and saying "and Parise just got his hat trick" And all of the fake pucks ended up on the ice- Lucky they didnt get a delay of game penalty.

We wont know for 20 years, when they all start retireing from the NHL, but there is some scary good talent on this team.

I just tuned in--- It sounds like the Sioux are putting some major foot to ass. Wish I was there.

-----I am going to warn you in advance I may get up on a soap box here so bear with me!!!---- I am sure you heard this all before so here I go..... I really hate it when people feel that just because they are a member of a certain group they can speak for it as a whole. I know that there are individuals who feel negatively towards the nickname, but there is a larger silent majority that feels positively towards the name. Every one is entitled to their own opinion but to try to speak for an entire ethnic group is just plain crazy. If all Native Americans were against the nickname there wouldnt be people speaking out for it! I personally think the "Fighting Sioux" nickname is paying homage to the Native American heritage of the state. While some may use the name in a disrespectful manner that is more often than not aimed at the team not a Native Americans it represents. If I say "Gophers Suck" it does not mean that I have negative feelings for all the worlds small fuzzy gophers, it simply means that I feel the Gopher Hockey team is Sup-par. I don't pretend to speak for all people at UND or any other group, I simply state my opinion. And If you opinion differs from mine that is OK. But state it as YOUR opinion not that of an entire group. -Sorry about the rant!

Hale and Martin had a decent game in the Devils win at Carolina tonight. They have the two of them playing together. The Devils TV guys were refering to them as simply "The Kids". They were both solid but had a few break downs where it looked like they were simply trying to do things they could do In the WCHA but wont fly in the NHL. Good Stuff

I just went in there to try out the stream- It work real well for about a minute- Then the Sioux Scored and it died. And I havent been able to get the stream back. I am glad this is free, I would not pay 9 bucks for a choppy stream and cuts out half the time. And we have a 100kps DSL line in here so the problem is on thier end. They have some work to do over there.. As for now I will stick to the free radio webcast.-- At least that is reliable

I saw that hit on sportscenter- He got knocked back to yesterday. It took him a few minutes to remeber how to skate.

Both Dave Hale and Paul Martin made their Professional Debuts last night with the Devils. The game ended up a 3-3 tie. Hale who oddly wore number 25 for the Devils did not get a lot of ice time at the begining of the game but earned more in the latter periods. He ended up with 14:44 minutes of ice time and looked solid. He seems to be adjusting to the pro game well but I think he has some more work to do to get up the level that the Devils want him at. He played with a bunch of different people including Paul Martin (more on him in a bit) Scott Stevens and Colin White. He did end up -1 for the evening but overall it was a decent performance. It was kind of odd that Dave Hale was wearing his brothers number. Paul Martin also got his first Devils start last night. He got a little more ice time than Hale did. (18:04) but even saw time on the power play and a short handed situations. Overall, he seemed very confident and was getting time in some important situations. He ended up a -2 for the evening. There is much potential in those two--- I hope they both stay up in the NHL and have a great rookie year!

This makes me just as happy as I was when the Devils drafted Parise. Seeing a player from my alma matter play for my pro team. Very Very Happy!!!

Some of these predictions are the funniest things I have ever heard!. My prediction for the game is that there will be ice in the arena and the hot dogs will be slightly over priced. That being said---UND 39 UMD -1--- That being said every sioux player scores at least twice and the scoring got so bad they just starting going negative from Duluth.

Unless he Redshirts one of the two new goalies he will have to cut some one, but it would not surprise me to see a redshirt goalie around.

Cam Elsworth is the only reason that that team doesnt get smoked any worse than they do night to night. He is a great goalie on a real POS team. Long time - no speak-- hows everybody doin?

I think It should be like in the NFL- The home team decides what color jersey they want to wear and then the visiting team has to wear a contrasting color. Keeps things interesting and changed up. It all good.

Having worked with the hockey camps in the past I can affirm that Blais really takes a huge interest in these kids. I was on the Dorm end of it but was always around to answer questions that us counselors had and he also wanted to stay informend of what was going on in the dorms. I had personal contact with him on more than one occasion and he was nothing but pleasant and decent, even after I showed him the damage that one of his kids caused in on the residence halls.

Nate Ziegelmann signs at UND OK so Lets paraphrase. Sofie and Ranfranz are basically non-factors. Brandt is the "Veteran" Bida is a Goner. and now we have not one but two freshman goalies (sounds familar) Lets hope Blais redshirts either Parise or Ziegelmann for a year so we can keep an extra year of eligability from these two top notch goalies. Should be interesting. I guess the Ziegelmann question just got answered.

Once you are going to play in the QMJHL there is no need to go to College. Arguably the league is the best in North America many players come into the pro-ranks from there. Crosby will never play college hockey. He will probably be in the pros or a pro-system when he turns 18.
