Spin it however you want, but the numbers are what they are. When you are giving away $ 11 mil in tuition and you have a budget deficit, maybe you shouldn't be giving so much away for free! Sounds like Peloso is at the helm at NDSU!

If you are bringing in high numbers of foreign students for research and grad programs at no cost for their education, how valuable can it be when you are running a budget deficit and have a hiring freeze? Theses tuition waivers aren't for the C+ high school grads from Hawley, MN.

I'd be curious to the backdown of gender, race and nationality. I bet you would be suprised to see who's getting a tuition waiver! One of my buddies is an upper level class undergrad and grad school prof.

Hak summed it up best about this team...it's IMMATURE! Problem is you are 18 games into the season. Is he expecting to just flip a switch? This team struggles with the game from a mental standpoint as is evident by it's 1-6 record in games decided by 1 goal and it's inability to hold a 2 goal lead . But enough with the excuses...this team is what it is: A 9-6-3 talented hockey team that is inconsistant, immature and without consistant leadership from it's upper classman, IMO. My concern is Zajac has been one of, if not, our best forward night in and night out and now he's gone for a month plus? Who knows if Genoway will be back. VV looked like has was playing at 70% this weekend and he has been disappointing when totally healthy. Other than Kristo, our freshman forwards have been late to join the party. And Kriso will be leaving to for the WJC. Gregoire, Trupp, Malone and Lammy have been up and down as well. Hextall has been more consistant as of late. And now Eidsness looks to be struggling. The D-men have been doing ok overall, but have moments as well. This team because if it's immaturity has squander 3-4 potential wins. Now with all the guys out and playing inconsistantly, they need to focus on getting home ice for the first round of the WCHA and go from there. Another second half surge??? We'll see I guess.

Ummmmm....no! Ask almost anyone, even here in Fargo...even my SU friends, and they, almost to a person, think Joe's activities bordered on criminal. Selfishness personal gain is at a minimum. BTW...the only real hardon in Joe's situation was the one he gave SU when he bent over the university in which he was in charge of, not to mention that Foundation!

Does that include any contact, non-physical of course, with the cheerleaders?!

I guess I struggle to see as apple to apples as far as the SBoHE's involvement when you have a state university president who is totally misusing his position for pesonal gain vs. a handful of PC zealots who have had there feeling hurt over a name/logo.

This is football related so I stuck thread here...flying my dad, who's a huge Cowboys's fan, to Big D tomorrow to see the Cowboys/Chargers game on Sunday. Anyone been to the new stadium??? Any suggestions or sites to take in before the game at or near Cowboys Stadium? 3:15 pm kick-off.

That's my point, most of you Bison hacks trolling this site, specifically MplsBison, are arguing for the power of the SBoHE in the nickname issue. But when Joe felt the heat from that same board, all you heard from the Bison faithful was "leave poor old Joe alone!"

Again to what extent does the SBoHE have the authority to rule on ANY university issue? Like a time-out? You are just a complete bumbling tool! BTW...from your previos posts on other threads, you didn't seem to feel the same way about SHoHE's power when Whiskey Joe was digging his own grave!

Maybe that's the case, but I guess will have to see what the judges ruling is. The SBoHE "has to authority to govern UND" to what extent??? I don't think the SBoHE was created to have the final say in ANY situation that comes about within a university in this state. To me that is an extreme stretch of power!

From all indications since this mess started, it has become crystal clear the SBoHE could care less about what the tribes want or think. Not to mention, IMO, that the UND administration(s) has had the SBoHE bent over from day 1 on this issue as well!

That's good news! A couple of points on the current SL lawsuit: First, the Assistant AG says it would be "unconstitutional" to take away the SBoHE's authority if this lawsuit was upheld...really? Someone with some law background explain that one to me please. Second, find it interesting that a SL elder gave testimony and the Assistant AG dismissed it as "not relevant to the legal issue". So again it come down to the NA people of the 2 tribes are irrelevant? and have no say on this issues? Third, I find it ironic that the SBoHE, a board of EDUCATION, is hanging it's so called authority, on the fact that this issue could delay whether UND gets in a conference and how it is going to effect it's transition to D1. Again, a board formed and based on the state's EDUCATIONAL system has it's top priority as this? This just smell, which it has from the begiining, of collusion between UND's administration and the SBoHE to end this issue at all costs regardless of what the 2 tribes say or feel.
