  1. I know we're "supposed" to be cheering for UMN due to PWR implications, but can we really cheer for the Gophers??
  2. Were you the one in the Team Canada jersey?
  3. Solid passing, good goaltending, decent speed. A couple defensive breakdowns led to UMN breakaways or excellent chances, but they are a solid team. Stalock made 3-4 saves that kept it a 1-1 game. I'm not sure what they were doing for awhile, but at the beginning of the period they were pretty aggressive offensively, and then toward the end of the period they had 4 skaters back at times.
  4. Yale 3 Cornell 0 after 2 UMD 1 UMN 1 after 1 UW 0 MSUM 0 1st VT 2 Maine 2 3rd OSU 3 Miami 2 2nd UNH 4 Mack 1 3rd Mich 5 FSU 1 3rd UMass 3 BU 1 2nd
  5. Notre Dame already leading MSU 2-0 in the 1st.
  6. You have to think that Olsen would have gotten immediate playing time regardless of where he chose to go. Even if he would have come to UND, he's probably at a level where another recruit would have been pushed back a year, or another dman would have been in the stands each game. Like you said though, that could have led to someone backing out of a commitment, and that's never good. We don't want to be like UW. I agree with you that it's probably better that he didn't choose UND due to the logjam that would have developed from that. At least he chose a WCHA school so we can still watch him play regularly...and I'm glad he chose UMD over schools like UMN, DU, or UW. Exactly. Forbort is a player that I am really excited to see in a Sioux uni. He's going to be a good one...
  7. Settle down everyone. There is no need to resort to name-calling here.
  8. To keep track of the other games that may (or may not) be important to the Sioux in the PWR. According to Jim's weekly PWR breakdown, here's the teams that we should be cheering for/against:
  9. Wow, that's a surprise. I never heard of them even being in the running. Huge pickup for UMD.
  10. DOT? Sorry to burst your bubble, but Oshie and Toews have departed UND for the pros. Duncan is still here though.
  11. It appears that Lynn knows next to nothing about other things as well.
  12. The latest brackets from USCHO: Bridgeport looks to be the easiest bracket...I think DU could easily advance out of there (especially with Bozak back). I'm not really a fan of the UND bracket. I like that they are in Minneapolis, but a rematch against a tough Princeton team, and then a potential showdown against UMD or UM.
  13. Good to read that they are still evaluating Evan as a possible game time decision. While he may not play against CC, that bodes well for him playing against UW or our first round opponent.
  14. Earlier this season I would have said that I expect him back for his SR season, but with how he has elevated his play during our recent run, I could also see him departing after this year.
  15. Thanks for the latest PWR blog post, Jim! Always informative...
  16. What was said? (sorry, I'm at work and can't listen to the link) Thanks!
  17. Nice! It's still probably a long shot that we see him on the ice this weekend, but that's good news for possibly against UW or WCHA 1st round...
  18. I agree with all of this. Miller is much more noticeable on the ice now that he has time to play with the puck. He had his moments as a forward, but his transition to D has really given him the space for him to showcase more of his skill. I think that Hakstol will keep him back on the blueline for the rest of the season. There's no reason to move him back up at this point...
  19. The Sioux aren't getting much help from other teams... Just gotta keep winning then.
  20. I think Stalock will get 1st team WCHA goalie over Eidsness.
  21. Agreed. Although Eidsness will be up there, I think Wiercioch will take it. Eidsness will definitely be the goalie on the all-rookie team though.
